Rare Breed MC was the first to strip the Electra Glide and make it into what it is today. Back when the dealership and other riders said it was ugly. Before the name Street Glide existed. Cool video Laidlaw. 😎
In the nineties a guy I know bought a electraglide (I think it was a sport model). He put on a different front fender, removed the passing lamps, and it looked liked a stripped down bagger, what they call a street glide today.
Matt!!! Ive been watching your videos for years and had almost bought a bike on multiple occasions, but due to life doing what life does i had to push my dream of getting my first harley further out. This weekend my dream came true and i rode home a new '23 street glide standard. Thank you for sharing your passion!
Matt, your videos are FANTASTIC. The HDMC better be paying you a marketing salary. I'm not kidding!! I'm certain it takes tons of time and effort on your part to get these vides out. Thank you.
There is NO better place to go for Harley reviews 🎉. Matt, your knowledge and presentation on the history and visual orgasm of the best motorcycle on the planet is amazing not to mention the scenery. THANK YOU!
Simply amazing the details, history. You are a credit to Harley Matt. I'm looking at a Road Glide but 90% of this is applicable to both. Many thanks mate. Well done
Best dealership on the West Coast...Thanks Matt, Dave, Nick and the guys in the service and parts department. . just got my 2024 Road Glide and couldn't be happier......
When I left your dealership, it took a little bit to get used to the new controls, but I now love the new buttons, new screen, 117” motor, stock bars and seat solid for the 6 hour trip home, having owned the two previous versions of the road glide, this is the best bike I have owned to date. Major improvement by the motor company.
What’s up Justin! Thanks for the comment. Good to hear the feedback. 🤙🏼 thanks for taking the time. I appreciate you coming down! Enjoy the road glide.
@@MattLaidlaw thanks to you and your team, it was worth the trip, renewed my faith in dealerships, your straight forward approach earned my trust and I encourage everyone to make their bike purchase/parts and service through you. Thanks for your videos, your shop and crew.
Once again I wait for your review and you did not disappoint. I love watching all your videos. Excellent delivery of information that keeps you at peek interest. And I agree , this new line up of the baggers is incredible. In my opinion this was the biggest year for Harley with the best and most significant improvements introduced in a single year. I see you on a Road Glide next Matt , lol.
Without question, I believe you are the best HD content creator! I often watch your videos multiple times and gain nothing from your peers. You're knowledge and delivery are above all else out there. You're factual content and humility in delivering the facts are refreshing, so many content creators are focused on themselves, you are pedigree and deliver humbly. With your incredible content, I just bought my 2nd Harley, 2024 Street Glide, trading in a 2020 Street Glide Special. I am still breaking her in and learning the Infotainment System, so no true review, but your honest review, especially with the weight is proven. I'll update this comment in a few days after I get to wake her up, after the break in. FYI: Stage 1 from dealer, I was warned to not do S2/CAM until more data was available. I'm a rider from Georgia but I look to your content immediately when I need help. Thank You!!
Thank you my friend. This video took me about 15 hours to edit. That’s not including travel and filming. Comments like this make it all worth it. Thanks for taking the time to leave this comment. It made my day.
In my late 50s, I am that old and crusty rider you mentioned but I really love the look and the many features of this bike. Harley was needing a style change and this hits all the marks without being a severe makeover. Thanks for the tour of this new bike Matt! Excellent video.
At first I read about these new models and watched a lot of videos. I was not overly impressed by the changes. Then I went to the dealership when they came in. I was much more attracted to see and feel them in person. Not enough to pop, however, as I currently ride a '23. I wasn't going to view this video until I saw your name on it. Your presentations are always top notch camera work, editing, and sound quality. But mostly the straight up and comprehensive, well thought out information is for me, the draw. I know HD values what you do (whether they acknowledge it or not). I believe you are responsible for a great many decisions to purchase a new bike. Good job, you made me want one..!
If i wanted a race bike, I'd have one. There is a lot more to riding than speed. Everything is not a race. On the street what do you win anyway? If you live long enough, you might figure it out. Or you might splatter like so many others.
@@fredflint1797 all Harleys now are safer and grandma like .. the decision is the woke feminine weaklings who now control the gay Company called Harley..hahah ride a man's bike one made with superior technology and build for speed and men. ( Ducati )
Thank you for the video. I enjoyed the historical information in the beginning and the explanations of all the new features. Please keep up all your good work and travel safely. Thanks again.
Agreed and all the whiners have us at a 1930 inadequate cable system. I guess it’s because they couldn’t get their hair in a man bun after riding I wish harley would bring back the hydraulic clutch as it’s far superior
Matt, ALWAYS the best review of new Harley models! You have a talent for presentation and getting the essentials put together for great viewing! Thanks for your professional approach and great editing, there are a lot of us that enjoy your video content!
Another awesome video! If I ever have a Harley shop, I’m just going to have all your videos on a loop and playing continuously for everyone to see and enjoy!
great video and very comprehensive. I purchased mine 2 weeks ago and have had zero issues with using my old Cardo headset with full functionality. Very early in my time with this bike, but I really like it so far. Keep giving us great content and thank you!
I am always looking forward to your next video on TH-cam. Your HD bike reviews are second to none. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to the next one.
As always, THE best Harley reviews and information are from this channel. Great work, and these new bikes are really beautiful in person. The best colors in recent history this year, IMHO.
Thank you for another great video. I truly appreciate that you did voice-over instead of moto-vlogging like other reviewers do. I also appreciate your honesty regarding how you feel about some of the new features. I also am becoming a ‘crusty old man’ when it comes to design changes. I’m not in love with the new look of the SG or the RG. The large display is great but I’m not sold on the new fairings, tank, and saddlebag redesigns. I ride a 2018 SG special similar to yours, and I prefer that design to the new one.
I love the review of the 24’ it still hasn’t grown on me as of yet, it makes the Rushmore bikes more retro the 11inch iPad screen, electric on screen gauges no “old school” analog gauges lol I understand Harley has to modernize I remember when fuel injection was an option in the 90s. My 21 bagger is 2yrs from being paid for, I honestly don’t see a reason personally. Bags are thinner too but time will tell I love the road glide but I dislike the new RG fairing so much I’d have to get a SG. but my local is selling them for 35k base and 52k for the Cvo st in Cali. I have no issue criticizing Harley Davidson some just kiss their ass and are yes men. But they surely did “modernize” it. Btw Laidlaw is an awesome Harley Dealership and love your reviews. Always top notch and informative
I paid 26500 plus TTL and about 1500 in bs fees. 30000 out the door. For a 24 street glide. I love the bike it feels so much lighter than my 2016 road glide. Don’t test ride it if you don’t want to buy it.
I feel the same way about ride modes. The power control has been built into motorcycles from the beginning, it is a grip on the right hand side that rotates and there is a lever on the left at your foot. Between those two you have all the ride modes you could ever need.
Matt is the best HD reviewer by far. I appreciate the content and look forward to the opportunity to visit the dealership, despite it being on the other side of the country from my location. :)
Thank you. I usually Try to give a brief history of each model before every review. Especially the new models at the beginning of a model year release.
Love your honesty in these vids. Even the tone of your voice when you say just get the HD branded cardo headset you can tell you wish you could just plug and chug any brand but you may as well just save some headaches. Great video!
Great video Matt. I’ve had everything from a ‘46 Flat Head to New CVO and Limiteds, this’24 Street Glide is by far my favorite! So many negative comments lately make me laugh, worse than the political commentary. This is a great bike. UNITED WE RIDE! Thanks for another excellent video!
Great job on the run down Matt. One thing you missed is the crank case is now venting. I’m not certain but I think that is vented up to the intake. I wonder if the front wheel sending everything the road has to offer right into the radiator will be a problem.
I was very critical of the new fairings when they came out. I can accept the new batwing fairing, but I still can’t stand the road glide fairing - it looks horrible side by side with the 2023s.
I’m really looking forward to the Ultra Limited getting these upgrades. I’ll be in the market next year if that happens. Nice thing is the 117 has been out a while so it’s really not a concern for new models. Any electrical issues should be handled by then too.
Great review as always. I myself do appreciate the gear indicator. I have the 2023 CVO Street Glide and your comments about the new suspension are spot on. On my 2021 CVO SG, I had to replace the seat and suspension. The 2023 needs no upgrades in my opinion. Thanks for the great content.
Like always, you bring the awesome history to those who dont know much about the brand. This is a great bike, and I believe HD did a great job. I will be getting this bike in the near future. Thank you, Matt......👊😎
Very good review. Although I am not looking for a new 2024 at the moment I enjoy the content. So nice to see a family run dealership in today's Harley corporate car dealership takeovers of the once family run stores. Thanks Matt and Laidlaws.
Nice video. I love hearing the history of how we got to where we are today. I also respect your take on the new bikes versus the old. Tech is cool but what happens when it breaks? Just replace the module and back to new we all hope. Just like a computer. Anyways if you still like the old school Harely's for 2024. Then the Ultra Limited and Road King Special are there for that. So there is something for everyone with Harley. Like my 2015 Twin Cam 103 RK. Ride Safe.
Great Video. Most complete test yet. I don't get why Harley doesn't simplify the Apple Car Play. Plug your phone up and it comes on the screen with sound just like our cars.
Great in-depth review Matt. I agree with pretty much everything you said with regards to likes and dislikes. You forgot to mention the ugly horn and it's placement. Looks like it would have to be removed to get at the oil filter. Also, with that molded new inner fairing, it looks like it would be a bigger job to change the bars. And, can you unbolt that new gas cap and turn it around so it opens towards the dash?
Great review Matt. I'm surprised and impressed with modern updates to the Street Glide. I am really digging the styling. As for your review, great info. I even laughed at your subtle digs at Indian at the beginning of the video (I currently own an Indian). 😁 Keep on keep'n on H-D!
Incredible video, Matt! Thank you for taking the time to put all this information together. Especially liked the history lesson in the beginning! Quick question - in your opinion, do you think Harley will release a Road Glide Limited version on this new body style?
Definitely a great refresh on the touring bikes. I love the new fairings (both Street Glide and Road Glide). They did an excellent job blending the radiator into the overall design, it looks sleek. There are a couple of odd things that you pointed out that seem kind of standard. The plastic speaker grills and non-gloss inner fairing. And it is kind of odd that a touring bike with a big beautiful TFT screen doesn't include navigation (especially if Android Auto isn't going to be available for a lot of people). But overall, a bigger better performing motor, modernized styling, along with items that used be pricey upgrades, now all included for a significantly lower price. Gotta love that! It is a pretty big gap between the base and CVO models. It makes me wonder if they'll reintroduce a mid-price touring model next year. I get the feeling we'll see an ST again.
Another factual unbiased vlog which spells it out for everyone. I always learn something from your content. Question is, will it be SG or RG? Thanks Matt. Btw I received my ML Ts from Stefan a couple of weeks back in England. That’s friendship for you; that’s motorcycling.
Another great review Matt , there’s a butt for every seat and this one isn’t for mine there’s way to much electronics and I really don’t need a flat screen TV to look at while riding
Yes, these two bikes were due for updates. And, I really like these updates. Both bikes are improved tremendously in my mind. I started as a shark nose fan before these changes and I like the change to the fairing even more on the street glide than on the road glide. So, I’m even more of a street glide fan now.

Great vid as always . I love the historical context
Great video Matt I'm loving the history of motorcycles there.
I don't mind the flat black inside the fairing. It doesn't reflect the light as much as the shiny black, which can affect your vision while riding.
What did HD do to correct the aerodynamic death wobble issues that resulted in the 2023 CVO SG recall? Is this bike limited to 99mph?
You must not have watched the video. The bike is governed at 105 MPH.
Another factual unbiased vlog which spells it out for everyone. I always learn something from your content. Question is, will it be SG or RG? Thanks Matt. Btw I received my ML Ts from Stefan a couple of weeks back in England. That’s friendship for you; that’s motorcycling.
I love it 🙌🏼 thanks for the support.
Yea, the history is hard to argue against. It’s hard to deny HD made the batwing fairing what it is today.
Thanks again, Matt! Your vlog was very informative.
Another great review Matt , there’s a butt for every seat and this one isn’t for mine there’s way to much electronics and I really don’t need a flat screen TV to look at while riding
3:52 the blue burst colour looks beautiful ❤
Awesome review (no surprise). Looking forward to the Road Glide review.
Great video .
I bought a 2024 White Onyx Street Glide and love it .
Oh nice man. Enjoy. 🤙🏼
Yes, these two bikes were due for updates. And, I really like these updates. Both bikes are improved tremendously in my mind. I started as a shark nose fan before these changes and I like the change to the fairing even more on the street glide than on the road glide. So, I’m even more of a street glide fan now.
