I'm curious if your idea to rotate the 4 bolt mounting flange so you can mount a 2 bolt toilets actually worked!!??? My thought is if the bolt spacing is the same, and if the 2 bolt style floor seal will match up with the old 4 bolt flange????
For me this actually did work. The whole pipe rotated within the black tank.
I doubt you will be able to rotate it because it is more than likely glued in to more black pipe.
For me this did work, but great looking out. If I were to guess mine was supposed to be glued, but wasn't. It rotated within the black tank.

can you please post the part numbers or links to replace ?
I purchased the seal kit on Amazon and still had the leak as it was at the base. I ended up just buying a new toilet.
