Yeah, I witnessed his whole career including college. Kinda difficult for me to warm up to Michael because Magic and Larry were my guys, and Michael posed a threat to their dominance. However I'm glad it didn't get in the way of wanting to watch big games Michael was a part of.

Agreed. Basketball is my first love and started watching in the late 80s. Ive seen Magic, Bird, Shaq, Duncan, Kobe, Lebron, and all the current great players, but none seem to have mastered the game quite like MJ did. Fundamentals, athleticism, competitiveness, and killer instinct...MJ was the best of the best. Theres a reason they still talk about him and compare the current greats to him despite being retired for over 2 decades.

    Players back then:
Michael Jordan "The game is only played 2-3 hours a day, it's one of the easiest jobs I've ever had"
Shaq: "When you’re living in a world where 40 million people have been laid off and I’m making $200 million, you won’t get no complaining from me. I’d play back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back"
Charles Barkley: "you'd think players should play 82 games now because of the access to better training, recovery, and sports science"
    Players today:
LeBron "why are we flying all the way to Milwaukee for a pre-season game?"
Embiid "I don't think I'm ever playing back to backs again"
Draymond - ppl dont know what it's like to play back to backs, or 3 games in 4 nights, and dont know what it's like to have a hectic travel schedule, and people take days off from their jobs anyway, so shut up.
Okay Draymond do you know whats its like working 40, 50, 60 plus hours a week, travelling by car, bus, or train (not a fancy private jet), and only having a certain amount of sick days (that some companies won't even pay time for)? While making 50k a year, not 25.8 million like you do?

This has got to be the BEST vintage video I've ever seen of Michael Jordan because you see him in almost every setting (including flying commercial and walking around amongst the general public in a Dallas airport!!) during the very early stages of the megastardom that he would soon achieve. We've got to credit Dale Hansen for coming up with the 'Countdown' segment to hype up Jordan coming to Dallas to play the Mavericks!! Once he saw how elite Jordan was as a rookie, he knew he had to capitalize on it!! LOL
My only issue with this segment is, why didn't they interview Jordan's college teammate Sam Perkins?? He was a rookie on Dallas and dominated with Jordan at North Carolina during the previous 3 years. He was also on the 1984 Olympic team with Jordan. Even though Perkins saw how great Jordan was up close at North Carolina, he had to be surprised with how dominant Jordan was as a rookie.

That’s what I was thinking. They wanted to be mad and jealous rather than embrace it and ride the wave and see where it takes them. Look at what the Michael Jordan wave did for the NBA and EVERYONE in it! Learn ladies! This only comes around once in a generation!

Norm Sonju…….what a terrible GM for the Dallas Mavericks. He could have moved up in the ‘84 draft and drafted Michael Jordan. Not to mention he passed on other great players such as Joe Dumars, Karl Malone, Tim Hardaway, & Shawn Kemp to name a few.
