Young Michael Jordan puts on a show for Los Angeles - Air Jordan gets some serious California love!

  • You are about to see Michael Jordan fill up the seats at a Clippers game, which was a rare sight in these times. The Clippers were a team that couldn't get out of the starting blocks, due to repeated injury issues. With that being said, the footage will show, even the worst team in the NBA played much better defense than some of the best teams in more modern years of the NBA. The Clippers absolutely swarmed Michael with double teams & triple teams all game long. They were double teaming Michael before he even got past half court, on many possessions. Of course, no defense can contain Air Jordan, and MJ put on a show for his fans in Los Angeles, California. Enjoy!

    Blitz Sports Network PSA: Always remember, the individuals who say "Michael Jordan didn't face great competition in his era" are trying to tell you something IMPORTANT. They are trying to tell you that they didn't watch the Michael Jordan era, and there are much better things you could be doing with your time rather than listening to their takes on an era they didn't even watch. Would you go to someone for an opinion on Shakespeare if they had never seen the plays Macbeth, Hamlet, or Othello? Of course you wouldn't. Consider the source. Nobody who watched that era would trash the talent all around the league. Michael Jordan played in a great era with a great blend of fierce competitors, awe inspiring athletes, lock down defenders, knock down shooters, and ultra skilled ballers.

    I saw the Bulls play the Knicks @ MSG in their last match up of the 90/91 season, as I have relayed many times, there were 14 Knicks fans & 21,000+ Michael Jordan fans there that night. Bulls were down 19 @ half time. Then came the GOAT 24pt, 2 blocks, 3 steals etc... 3rd quarter. He was just on another level. young Michael Jordan's quickness really stands out, he is moving faster than anyone on the court, its crazy to think that anyone could stop him in todays game let alone back then when you could grab and hand check on the perimeter. MJ was out of this world and to this day we have not seen anyone like him, Kobe came the closest but that comp was to MJ's older game with fadeaways and shot making ability around the rim, young MJ could just destroy teams with his quickness and athleticism.

    • @alexandrel.9083
      @alexandrel.9083 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Kobe was absolutely phenomenal but you’re right: the majority of Jordan’s game he copied was the fadeaway/later Jordan and bits of mid-career Jordan (also with his own creative ball handling and footwork ).
      But…..he was not close to the unstoppable force of younger Jordan. People keep comparing Kobe, Lebron, etc to mainly mid and later career Jordan. Not the young monster who would have been on another planet in todays game as well.

    Only real Clippers fans know that was the only time the LA Sports Arena filled up, was when the Bulls or Fakers came. Real Clippers fans know it was only 50 other people rooting in the building on normal days. Gosh I miss those days, why we fell in love with the Clippers I’ll never know. Maybe it’s because our families couldn’t afford Fakers tickets. The Fakers are Hollyweird’s team and the Clippers are LA’s real team for real blue collar people who aren’t fake plastic wannabes. I’m so happy for our organization moving into our own home the Intuit Dome. GO CLIPPERS!!! TILL I DIE.

    I was very fortunate to see him play in person many times as a news videographer tasked with getting sports highlights for the Cavs. When they played the Bulls, I begged for the assignment. He had a palpable tangible presence that was different than anyone else. Even the way he moved…working on a different level. And as others have pointed out, he wasn’t just a highlight reel waiting to happen. He was COMPLETE. So good in every respect. And added to his arsenal every year. I’m so glad I didn’t fall into the trap of resenting greatness and the attention he got. I recognized even then….this guy is the benchmark. Amazing. The GOAT. And second isn’t close. And, because I can hear the screaming now, second best ever is nothing to be ashamed of LeBron fans. But Jordan? The greatest of all time.

    This is what is sad about the Pippen drama. Mike was Mike before Pippen ever came into the league. Pippen got to be as good as he became because he learned from Mike and had to grow into the player he became if he wanted to compete on Mike's level. Pippen had a great mentorship and now he claims he grew on his own and that if it weren't for him Mike wouldn't be Mike! Pippen wants accolades for doing his job, he was supposed to grow into a great player under the tutelage of Phil Jackson, Tex Winter, Jordan and the "Triangle Offense" Now he wants everybody to believe that he was the steam behind that Bulls ride! Ridiculous!

    I’m sure MJ has some extra motivation knowing the great Elgin Baylor was watching somewhere in the building. But frankly MJ was always motivated, simply to be great in almost every game. Love the Cage v Oakley dust up - two strong dudes fighting for position.

    I had that MJ leaner dunk poster on my wall in 1989 also watched the Bulls-Clippers in 1990 at the Sports Arena. Hollywood Harper actually outplayed MJ in a Clippers win. Harper scored 36, MJ had 26.
