I just love the way the music helps the build up to Kara taking off her glasses. Man has the actress really molded herself as Supergirl. I personally feel she's doing great.
Cat's conviction, Kara's face when she finally took of her glasses and the look of surrender in her eyes as she struggles to hold it together, and that music in the background that built up the serenity of this scene is just a dream come true for me... I have always loved watching super heroes, dreamt a thousand times that it was me out there flying and kicking ass. And it has always upset me that almost none of these super heroes' human friends never noticed who they really are behind the mask or the fake antics. So y imagine my thrill watching this tear-jerking revelation unfold before my eyes. Finally! Someone has actually figured something it out. Heroes deserve some level of credit, whether they like it or not😏
I broke my front tooth trying to jump of an ice chest. My dad pinned 📌 a cape onto my outfit. I was only 5 years old.🤣🤣 So I know the feeling of wanting to be a superhero. You should be a writer. I noticed how you wrote your comment and thought you have a lot of potential. Not bad as superhero powers are concern. 😊
this is why heroes wear masks. note that I say this with love. seriously though, if I had superpowers and wanted to fight crime, a mask would step one.
Kara didn't yet realize that Cat already loved her, thought she was amazing, and would never betray her identity. One disadvantage in being Queen of All Media: People think you can't keep your mouth shut. Cat Grant can.
Kat never ceases to amaze me.. She is so intelligent and observant. I know she will protect Supergirls identity because she believes in her. God I love Kat Grant. ❤ ❤❤❤ She is a queen. 👸
Cat: Kara you get sick for the first time since I knew you what a coincidence. Kara’s mind: What type of superpowers do you have? You literally think everything is a coincidence lol.
Melissa Benoist is really good at playing a superpowered character who has a real sense of vulnerability whenever she can't hide behind the family crest.
I hate that Kara felt that she couldn't trust Cat to keep her secret and then tricked her after this. I hate that the writers built up to the reveal only to have Cat duped in the next episode. Oh well, after some of their later exchanges, I believe that Cat still knows that Kara is Supergirl.
Sizeet Sizeet, I can fully understand why Kiera wouldn't trust Cat even confronted. Cat Grant is owner and CEO of a Magazine Company. Cat's #1 obligation is to sell magazines. Kiera fessing up as Supergirl would be reckless and suicidal. From Super girl's perspective it would be unrealistic to expect a Magazine CEO to keep the biggest story a secret. I'm not saying Cat's a bad person. Deep down she's caring and compassionate, but if I was Kiera I wouldn't never confess to that woman, no matter how many she asks or she says I could trust her or the amount of evidence she had.
@@seanmiles6991 Also, much more mundane thing, Kara is trying to protect the barrier between her work life and her not-work life. She looks to her job working for Cat as her chance to be a normal person and not the Last Daughter of Krypton with everything that would entail. She doesn't *mind* being a superhero and protecting her city, but she needs "normal" as a safety valve. There's a certain irony in the fact that Kara leans into her day job as a way to maintain that balance while most folks have to fight to protect their off-the-clock time instead. But here she is working for Cat Grant because it's *relaxing*.
I hate the way they kind of retconned this in the following episode. It felt so cheap and kind of ruins this great scene. Why not just let the characters and their relationships develop and evolve? I guess because that would actually challenge the writers? Good lord, we can't have that.
The way Cat should have handled this meeting so she couldn't have been deceived or lied to. At the moment when Cat asked Kara to remove her glasses, Cat should have lied and said yeah I don't think Supergirl. Of course Kara would be relieved, then Cat should have said bye Kara. While Kara is leaving, Cat should have called Kara's name and said one more thing, when Kara turns around, Cat should have had a pistol pointed at Kara. Cat tries to shoot Kara, well as we all know. Supergirl is bulletproof. Kara wouldn't be able to hide or lie around that.
I have been waiting for this kind of revelation ever since I started watching superhero movies. I guess it's because I have always daydreamed of becoming one myself, and it would really really feel good if someone finally figures you out for your true identity. That way, your alter ego finally gets understood and vindicated for all the stupid antics and silly persona that you had to put up with, just to hide your hero self. Words are not enough to describe the feeling. I'm glad someone finally did this, this is epic. This and that scene from spiderman 2 when mary jane discovered peter parker was spidey.
It is so funny.... She is mean, but then she likes Kara that much, that she totally realized it faster, than anyone else.... It was not really smart from Kara, to be saying "I would be blind without my glasses" (Literally 2 Seconds later) Answers the Phone , with entering pin without glasses.... I loved the moment, when Kara asked her Boss for help in this, and he joined in as Supergirl to have Kara and Supergirl near her at the same time.... It was hilarious, how she went a bit Bossy and such, but then the moment Kara came in the room, her hands begun to shake while I am sure her thoughts were something like "OH my god I just BROED Supergirl....." What is also so funny is, that allthough she likes Kara so much she is basically the only person in the entire Series, that still messes her name the most, " Kiiiiiiira"
I can't lie I was excited when she found out the truth and then we get to episode 9 they take it away from us I feel like the writers should have not done that
Cat wasn't fooled in episode 9... at least not for more than a minute, if that. J'onn gave it away. He said bye to "Kara", despite "Supergirl" claiming to have just met Kara, and no one saying her name (cause Cat kept calling her "Kira"). And there were still instances she hinted to Kara she knew the truth (esp. in the Flash crossover), before revealing to the audience she knew at the end of season 2.
It was great that someone finally see's thru a super hero's disguise, but I didn't care how Cat dressed her down over it. Also, with no emotion. Cat needed a dose of humility!
+ct0760 I personally think the respect dynamic has been subtly changing since the first episode. Cat has been slowly more respectful towards her and they've become more equals in a sense. I think what's going to happen is that Cat will still treat her like her assistant (which she is) as a sort of way to keep her grounded in a sense. But I think there will be a new level of respect now that she knows she's Supergirl.
Jonathan Blackbow 3 years ago I can't imagine.... how jealous I am of Supergirl to have a boss like Cat Grant, who knows who you are, and backs you 100%. Fly, ladies. Fly.

I could watch this one scene over and over again...
And yet, in series finale, Kara is surprised when Cat says she knows Cara is Supergirl
yeah this confuses me
because she thought she fooled her with hank's help.

✓Cat Grant in the finale
Cat 🤝 Maggie and knowing without getting told Kara is supergirl
Lena should have took lessons
How dramatically do glasses seriously change one’s appearance beyond recognition?
It would have been better if she wore a wig when she is Kara or as Supergirl.
It’s also because she’s a nerd and people don’t suspect that Cat Grant’s assistant is supergirl
so is respect gonna come here or what? How will the dynamics of their "relationship" change? They did this too soon
+ct0760 I personally think the respect dynamic has been subtly changing since the first episode. Cat has been slowly more respectful towards her and they've become more equals in a sense. But I think there will be a new level of respect now that she knows she's Supergirl.
+ct0760 I suspect that upon return she's going to request that her name be pronounced correctly as a courtesy. It's the least she can do.
It wasn’t too soon. Cat Grant and Lois Lane aren’t idiots. The shows and movies depicted their intelligence far better than the animated series did.
Clark Kent never had to deal with these kind of problems.
Nice call forward to the finale. This is when Cat Grant found out who Kara Danvers really was.
