If a minor steals a weapon, which is later used in a crime, the parent(s) can & usually are charged as well. The charge is:
"Being unaware of a youth family member (son or daughter) that has stolen your weapon. You, as the owner, are charged to keep it 110% in your control or on your persons. Failing to know where a weapon is, that has been used in a crime, is sad & usually will not end up well for that parent(s)".

JJ has no legal authority - the judgements if any are paid by the production company.

The hardest but most important job a parent has is teaching them that actions have consequences and that they are responsible for for their actions. Sadly this mother will never understand that her not wanting to upset her daughter has led to a lifetime of not holding her accountable and is the reason she was out at 3 am in a stolen car.

Judge Judy is a great no nonsense judge

Judge Judy showed more motherly compassion and kindness when you care about people you don't allow them to endanger there lives and that of others.
The mother and daughter are so fortunate to have only suffered monetary and material loss instead of loss of life or disabilatating injuries.
Life is precious every living being.

Not necessarily. I have know my brother in law since I was 8 and he was real trouble. He was involved in gangs and used drugs. He turned his life over to Jesus and became a completely different person in his mid 20’s. He is now in his late 60’s and is one of the most decent people I have ever known. The change in him was immediate once he became a Christian. His Christianity is real.

@@lisabaltzer4190 Oh, wow!! I never thought of that. A 14-year-old who drives without permission could have killed someone? Thanks for that startling brilliant revelation, who would have thought it? No freaking sh@!!? The point genius, is it was stupid, not a malicious where she set out to commit a crime like robbing a bank. If every kid who made a stupid mistake was doomed in life society would be in chaos. Out of the two the narrow minded !D!0T! who made that comment ,is probably the more detrimental drain on society than the kid.

"Mommy mode" should begin when your child is a toddler.
It begins with the word "NO" and eventually a slap on the butt if the child resists.
    This mother is a failure.
Her daughter is already lost to any form of accountability for her actions.
She'll probably end up in prison...

There is something very wrong with the mother of the defendant. She thinks of nothing other than herself and her daughter, with absolutely no regard for the pain, suffering and damage to the plaintiff *_AT ALL_* It's a shocking case of immorality.
