One of my favourite Beast Wars moments will always be when Waspinator FINALLY stood up for himself… even if it did literally blow up in his face. Speaks wonders for the show’s writing when even the comic relief character has some character development. I’ll always think of Waspinator as the Transformers equivalent to Kenny from South Park. He suffered but we loved him for it 😜
My favourite Waspinator incarnation has to be the Animated incarnation. Even though he was a jerk before becoming Waspinator, he didn’t deserve the crap thrown at him which made him Waspinator (framed by Shockwave, Blackarachnia using him as an experiment) in the first place.
That's kinda why I don't like him compared to his be version though. The guy was legit innocent and he just keeps getting tugged along to becoming a worse and worse bot until his wasp form just completely makes him lose touch and turns into a full on villian. He's one of those villians that are too symathetic imo. I guess the universe really does hate waspinator...

Im so glad they didn't kill off Waspinator in the second episode. Waspinator is easily my favorite Predacon besides Megaton, I enjoy every scene Waspinator appeared especially beast machines. I'm always fascinated by the behind-the-scenes backstory for Waspinator, basically being thrown into the show by Hasbro's request, and the series' crew decided to slag him in every way possible. Pretty amazing how that made this little bugger one of the most beloved characters in "Beast Wars." The "Animated" incarnation is also a very creative take on the character, and his monstrous design was especially awesome. Hearing more about 'his plans' is one of the many reasons I wish TFA got a fourth season. Oh, and for a special Waspinator line: *'Mmh, mmh, mmh. Two-head throw Megatron in lava pit. The Thrust head swap is an homage to the ending of "The Fly" (the 1958 original). Blackarachnia literally sends Wasp through a Brundel telepod to transform him into Waspinator. Or, BrundelWasp, if you will. This is a direct reference to the BrundelFly/Space Bug at the end of David Cronenberg's 1986 remake of "The Fly".
I have a feeling that after starscream posessed waspinator, waspinator had gotten some of starscream's indestructible spark into him so wasptinator's spark had become extremely difficult to kill him
Waspinator has an impressive ability! He can recover from damage that would normaly kill a Beast Wars era bot, and they are extremely resilient mind you! He is in my opinion one of the most powerfull Cons to ever exist, not in raw physical power but in resilience and determination!
It's ironic that of all characters, Waspinator never encountered a certain cosmic starscream Yes I know he came out after but you wouldn't be surprised if he somehow got retconned to have been thrown back in time into the comic at that exact point in the marvel book series
Waspinator is the lovable looser we all enjoyed and never truly had in G1!( we've come very close!) Scott McNeil really WOWED BEASTWARS with all his fantastic voices!
I kind of wish when Waspinator was lamenting his lot in life at around 1:19, that he said "Waspinator miss Terrorsaur" as a nod to their old relationship, since I remember in Fallen Comrades, Terrorsaur blew up a giant boulder that was crushing Waspinator and then dragged him all the way back to the Predacon base. About the only guy who would do that for him.
Something to add: In the first episode of Beast Wars, Waspinator was originally show at least for a few moments to be a competent Predacon warrior wich show that he was originally planed to retain his toy profile However this quickly change and Waspinator was left as a comedic relief villian because of (As it was mention in this video) his unique spech pattern that was time "on screen" consuming to reduce both the amount of times hid dialogues show up and the time needed to record them
Because time is wibbly-wobbly, I came up with a headcanon that getting possessed by Starscream gave Waspinator's spark the same immortality, which explains why he was turned into complete scrap far beyond anyone else and could be put back together.
That only works if the damage was never really serious before being possessed by Starscream. It has been a while since I've seen the episodes in order, though, so it might still fit.

1:52 What I love this figure for is that unlike most of the transmetals it is an actual triple changer with a proper vehicle mode instead of mere retractable turbines or wheels. And I am disappointed we didn't see this Waspinator's form in action in the animated series.
Yeah Silverbolt would be a great one to cover with both his classic and beast era incarnations, among others. Also, while his generations figure is awesome, Waspinator should still be next in line for a Masterpiece figure.
He said in the beast machines episode where he was reintroduced that his trip back to cybertron "took forever" so the way I see it he actually flew back from earth after somehow escaping orbit . So he would have actually been in flight during the countless millions of years that involved the show, which would work out i believe considering how far away cybertron is.
My favorite version was Transformers Animated but Beast Wars was my second choice and Merry Christmas. Because I'll be playing Jedi Fallen Order and getting the digital upgrade code so I can FULLY enjoy the game for Christmas thanks to my wife getting it for $40 from Ebay.
At 8:39 through the video, in the top right, is Waspinator from a mobile game called Forged to Fight that sadly got cancelled on Jan. 13. I used to play that game a lot. It had been running for a few years. RIP ftf.
One thing you forgot to cover with his Beast Wars entry was that he was one of the first to know the planet they were on was, in fact, prehistoric earth after the fake moon blew up. Other than that, Waspinator has always been one of my favorite characters in all of Transformers.
I can't confirm it, but I remember hearing once that the reason Waspinator can survive being blown up so often is because his Spark is located in his skull where his (Transformers equivalent of) brain should be. So as long as his head remains intact, as it always was, he can pull himself back together.
Great episode! I am a big "Generations" collector, and "Waspinator is definitely one of my favorite "Beastwars" characters. I have a very strong feeling we will be seeing him again, once the toy line reaches Earthrise... Just a hunch.
Not Earthrise, but Kingdom hopefully. The offerings announced so far are a bit sparce. Also, I would not be surprised if his Kingdom toy was a recolor of his Generations figure with more accurate paint apps and purple eyes. It's already a fantastic toy. Why mess with (near) perfection?
IDW said it best in one of their little intro snippets for Waspinator. "Waspinator, the Universe's Chew Toy". the exact issue that's from escapes me, was one of the Optimus focused ones early into the Necro-Titan story arc.
I never knew a lot of this. I thought he was chosen to be the unlucky lackey when the stories were being written, and his voice was supposed to remind you of that fly you are always trying to swat to make you further glad he got swatted (or blown up). I can't believe I never made the connection of that figure of Starscream and Waspinator with the events of the show. Very interesting, my only regret is that I have to wait until next year for your next video. An eternity of anticipation.
I really hate what they did to him in Beast Machines. They had enough to choose from and they brought him back just to be a joke. I do remember hearing a pre-Beast Machines theory that Waspinator was Shrapnel. Basically after Beast Wars he remained on Earth and the lack of other Cybertronians started to mess with him so he built himself Shrapnel as a sort of Wilson-esque buddy before he got injured and placed his spark inside and became Shrapnel. I think that it was my cousin and his friends that told me about it.
Waspinator was funny as hell. I loved watching what happened to him every episode of Beast Wars. I also love when he assists Megatron in reviving Dinobot, turning into Megatron's Igor of sorts.

I felt bad for him he was always getting blow up or beaten to a pulp in a lot of episodes, he tries to please megatron but never really gets his approval seems like he doesn't know what he really wants but I'm happy with the beast wars ending when he became the king lol
I'd love to see some episodes of beast wars where waspinator is fourth wall aware, like deadpool, and also aware of the fan love he gets and gets a big head. He'd welcome all of the times he gets dismantled knowing that he's adored that much more. All the other transformers would think him that much more insane

Blackarachnia literally sends Wasp through a Brundel telepod to transform him into Waspinator. Or, BrundelWasp, if you will. This is a direct reference to the BrundelFly/Space Bug at the end of David Cronenberg's 1986 remake of "The Fly".

I have a feeling that after starscream posessed waspinator, waspinator had gotten some of starscream's indestructible spark into him so wasptinator's spark had become extremely difficult to kill him
Technically speaking he can’t die so that makes him one of the strongest transformers in transformers
Waspinator has an impressive ability!
He can recover from damage that would normaly kill a Beast Wars era bot, and they are extremely resilient mind you!
He is in my opinion one of the most powerfull Cons to ever exist, not in raw physical power but in resilience and determination!
It's ironic that of all characters, Waspinator never encountered a certain cosmic starscream
Yes I know he came out after but you wouldn't be surprised if he somehow got retconned to have been thrown back in time into the comic at that exact point in the marvel book series

Waspinator is the lovable looser we all enjoyed and never truly had in G1!( we've come very close!) Scott McNeil really WOWED BEASTWARS with all his fantastic voices!
One of my favorite characters. I love now even know thanks to knowing one of his incarnations is basically an ambassador of the fandom.
I kind of wish when Waspinator was lamenting his lot in life at around 1:19, that he said "Waspinator miss Terrorsaur" as a nod to their old relationship, since I remember in Fallen Comrades, Terrorsaur blew up a giant boulder that was crushing Waspinator and then dragged him all the way back to the Predacon base. About the only guy who would do that for him.
I was actually feeling pretty sad but then I saw the notification for this video and I just went "hell yeah!". This video actually made me feel happy.

Something to add: In the first episode of Beast Wars, Waspinator was originally show at least for a few moments to be a competent Predacon warrior wich show that he was originally planed to retain his toy profile
However this quickly change and Waspinator was left as a comedic relief villian because of (As it was mention in this video) his unique spech pattern that was time "on screen" consuming to reduce both the amount of times hid dialogues show up and the time needed to record them

Waspinator: everyone except fan hates waspinator
Because time is wibbly-wobbly, I came up with a headcanon that getting possessed by Starscream gave Waspinator's spark the same immortality, which explains why he was turned into complete scrap far beyond anyone else and could be put back together.
That only works if the damage was never really serious before being possessed by Starscream. It has been a while since I've seen the episodes in order, though, so it might still fit.

1:52 What I love this figure for is that unlike most of the transmetals it is an actual triple changer with a proper vehicle mode instead of mere retractable turbines or wheels. And I am disappointed we didn't see this Waspinator's form in action in the animated series.
Yeah Silverbolt would be a great one to cover with both his classic and beast era incarnations, among others. Also, while his generations figure is awesome, Waspinator should still be next in line for a Masterpiece figure.

He said in the beast machines episode where he was reintroduced that his trip back to cybertron "took forever" so the way I see it he actually flew back from earth after somehow escaping orbit . So he would have actually been in flight during the countless millions of years that involved the show, which would work out i believe considering how far away cybertron is.

My favorite version was Transformers Animated but Beast Wars was my second choice and Merry Christmas. Because I'll be playing Jedi Fallen Order and getting the digital upgrade code so I can FULLY enjoy the game for Christmas thanks to my wife getting it for $40 from Ebay.
3:30 I always figured from the show that after leaving Earth, Washy flew the slow way to Cybertron.
I always assumed that Waspinator literally FLEW all the way back to Cybertron and that it took him millions of years until he finally reached it.
Fun facts: There is a Beast Machines figure named Buzzsaw in the Beast Machines toyline and he looks like a reformatted Waspinator.
Well BW Buzzsaw is just Waspinator painted like a yellow jacket, so it's likely that's why he's similar
At 8:39 through the video, in the top right, is Waspinator from a mobile game called Forged to Fight that sadly got cancelled on Jan. 13. I used to play that game a lot. It had been running for a few years. RIP ftf.
One thing you forgot to cover with his Beast Wars entry was that he was one of the first to know the planet they were on was, in fact, prehistoric earth after the fake moon blew up. Other than that, Waspinator has always been one of my favorite characters in all of Transformers.

I can't confirm it, but I remember hearing once that the reason Waspinator can survive being blown up so often is because his Spark is located in his skull where his (Transformers equivalent of) brain should be. So as long as his head remains intact, as it always was, he can pull himself back together.

I am a big "Generations" collector, and "Waspinator is definitely one of my favorite "Beastwars" characters.
I have a very strong feeling we will be seeing him again, once the toy line reaches Earthrise... Just a hunch.
Not Earthrise, but Kingdom hopefully. The offerings announced so far are a bit sparce.
Also, I would not be surprised if his Kingdom toy was a recolor of his Generations figure with more accurate paint apps and purple eyes. It's already a fantastic toy. Why mess with (near) perfection?

I never knew a lot of this. I thought he was chosen to be the unlucky lackey when the stories were being written, and his voice was supposed to remind you of that fly you are always trying to swat to make you further glad he got swatted (or blown up). I can't believe I never made the connection of that figure of Starscream and Waspinator with the events of the show. Very interesting, my only regret is that I have to wait until next year for your next video. An eternity of anticipation.

I really hate what they did to him in Beast Machines. They had enough to choose from and they brought him back just to be a joke. I do remember hearing a pre-Beast Machines theory that Waspinator was Shrapnel. Basically after Beast Wars he remained on Earth and the lack of other Cybertronians started to mess with him so he built himself Shrapnel as a sort of Wilson-esque buddy before he got injured and placed his spark inside and became Shrapnel. I think that it was my cousin and his friends that told me about it.

I was just thinking this. Despite being blown up so often, he usually has a habit of taking down at least one Maximal before misfortunate visits him.
I felt bad for him he was always getting blow up or beaten to a pulp in a lot of episodes, he tries to please megatron but never really gets his approval seems like he doesn't know what he really wants but I'm happy with the beast wars ending when he became the king lol
