Yessss. So comforting. They actually hiccup based off of what we eat as well. The tastes from what we eat seep into the amniotic fluid. So if we eat spicy stuff, baby will taste that and absolutely get hiccups from it.
That doesn't actually go away. Out of the womb and my little love hiccups every day lol. I remember how annoying it was to feel those spontaneous taps in the abdomen while pregnant
My god I miss those days , so much more I could have done and know. Best part of life was those baby years and toddler, preschool all great memories to a old lady.

I cried after my baby was born and he had hiccups outside the womb the first time. Feeling them hiccup in the womb then seeing them hiccup in front of you, there’s something so sweet and emotional about it ❤️
This makes me miss the baby days so much.. my girls are 19 and 17 now so so long ago 😢 good luck to all on your journeys...good or bad its all amazing and goes too fast
I really believe the smile while sleeping. Someone should be explain to me why a baby would be slleping crying and at the same time added some laughter
This may seem disgusting to a lot of people but when our babies had their acne, I would squirt my breast milk on them and rub it in (3 times a day and wash them up at the end of the night) worked like magic. Our son has eczema and you would never know just by looking at him and touching him. I'll use the Aveeno baby lotion on him at the beginning and end of the day and use breast milk 3 separate times during the day.
i remember 9 years ago when i had my youngest. he had the startle reflex and a nurse asked me if that was normal...OBVIOUSLY MA'AM. he did it in the womb and was still doing it when he came out
Hey mummy's out there. Can anyone answer this question? My son if 5 months old, qnd since qbout month 4 (since he has learnt how to roll around and move himself up and down) he drags himself up into the corner of his cot and sleeps on his side in a curl position well more like " , " position with his hand over his ear and face and the other in his mouth ? Not sure if this is clear? I am wondering if this is a normal way for a baby 🤔 Thnaks to all
When my son was born all the nurses kept gushing about how beautiful and clear his skin was. I guess at time I didn’t understand why but I learned why of course. It’s normal for newborns to have milk spots and the like.
I would feel my baby hiccup all the time when she was in my belly. It was the cutest thing ever. Like a little fluttering pattern. And when she was born, she also had hiccups a lot. It was so adorable. I remember a nurse was with me like the second day she was born. (My daughter was in the nicu for 10 days after birth). And she simply said, “awww she has hiccups. She’ll be fast asleep in no time!” And I asked her about that since I didn’t know, and she told me most babies fall asleep while they have the hiccups. It’s so cute 🥰
Welcome Home Ghana 🇬🇭 Accra KOTOKA international airport and Nigeria Abuja 🇬🇭 international airport to meet father and mother Steve and Cynthia Baidoo Crown Thanks ❤❤❤
I remember feeling both my girls having hiccups in my belly. ❤aww 🥰 I loved being pregnant I had wonderful pregnancies. I felt great, looked wonderful, was happy, had so much energy. They took it all 😉 lol
100,000% most surprising thing for me was… meconium. I had never heard of it before. Baby’s first poo is the most foul looking sticky black tar - coming out of that sweet little baby!!
It's normal for newborns to pause breathing while they're asleep for up to 10 seconds. It happens until they are around 6 months old! It's called periodic breathing.
My baby is 2 weeks old. The skin peeling and baby acne gave me a scare but my mom said it's harmless. My baby also stretches so much, especially after waking and after breastfeeding. I find that funny though
Hello! If you are expecting, there's a way to prevent the cracking, flaky skin. Babies are born with this icky sticky white stuff called vernix caseosa-- Rub it in! It's a natural moisturizer. Of course, you can decide to have your baby washed! I know I did. But if you're not squeemish, this is the way to do it!
Oh how I miss these days!!! I’m 42 and single so doubt I’ll have the amazing blessed opportunity to be a mother again and each passing day this reality sets in AND IT SUCKS.
See EVERY time I hear the hiccup fact I get sooo pissed off cause the hospital staff tried telling me my child was having withdrawals because she got the hiccups a couple of times during the first 3 days of my kids life even though we were both tested negative for any drug use through entire pregnancy and at birth via blood, urine & umbilical cord. Yet they still insist that was a sign of withdrawal 😡
Yes I remember all of these! I didn't know skin peeling was normal at the time though. Also my daughter had hiccups a lot! My in laws are Mexican and they always told me it was because she was cold. 😅 I told them she also had hiccups all the time when I was pregnant with her and she definitely wasn't cold. 😆
Human newborns, like other mammals, are able to understand the feeling of wetness and don't want to soil themselves. Although, they cant always be bothered to wait for the toilet, as they are immensely exhausted just trying to process this new world.
Adding to the acne, newborns (and toddlers) can also experience other bodily reactions related to puberty hormones, like menstruation and erect penises. It is nothing sexual, it's just a normal human experience.
Both my babies had hiccups in my belly (which of course is normal) but with my second one they were that strong, you could see my belly slightly bouncing 😂
When I was 6 months pregnant I was hit by a car, I was ok, baby was ok, but we had to go to the hospital just to make sure. They put a band on my belly and told my to hit this button everytime I felt movement. This is when I discovered my daughter had the hiccups. And 9 years later if you make her laugh really hard she will get the hiccups and it's so hard for her to stop
Moro reflex used to get mistaken for withdrawal 15 years ago if a pregnant mother who went into labor gave any positive drug test despite no to almost no drugs being in baby's system.
My aunt's babies had horrible acne. I turns out it was from washing the laundry with bleach! Her last baby had hardly any acne, because she didn't use bleach.
Ok here’s the ones that were weird to me: baby lactating (male or female) and female babies bleeding like a period due to the surge of hormones they get from mom.
Why do they cry in their sleep while they’re in a deep sleep. My baby did that a lot . She would whimper but would be completely sleep. I know it’s normal to smile in their sleep but to cry I had never seen that
And they just took this black girl baby saying one of the reasons was because the baby had bumps it she told them she believes it was heat rash and the baby had a check the next day smh
Feeling my baby girl hiccup is one of my favorite feelings 🥰 I’m just like “aww, you were trying to eat weren’t you baby?” So precious ❤️
My boy hiccups a lot too in the womb it's adorable. ❤
Cute thing to think about: Though you couldn't feel it till they got bigger, your baby has been hiccupping since they were only 7 weeks old ❤
Yessss. So comforting. They actually hiccup based off of what we eat as well. The tastes from what we eat seep into the amniotic fluid. So if we eat spicy stuff, baby will taste that and absolutely get hiccups from it.
Hiccups are actually used to strengthen and develop their diaphragm for breathing when they come out of the womb. Hiccups are to practice breathing.
That doesn't actually go away. Out of the womb and my little love hiccups every day lol. I remember how annoying it was to feel those spontaneous taps in the abdomen while pregnant
