Dude, you totally need to try having Hainanese chicken rice another time. As simple as it sounds on paper, it is truely amazing and full of flavour (especially when you're sick)
I highly suggest doing Book the Cook option under manage booking for your Business class flight. Do it a few days before your flight. You can choose from a few different chefs personal menus. It's much better than the in-flight menu in my opinion. For instance my last flight I got lamb shank and lobster tail that was fantastically prepared. I'm glad you got a bulk head business seat on your 2nd flight. It has the most leg room of all seats. So wide! Singapore Airlines service is phenomenal. I don't think I'll fly anything else again.
A few months back, I flew back to Singapore from London via SQ Business Class, and I was so exhausted after my long worktrip that I just wanted to sleep the moment I finished dinner. I asked the stewardess for more pillows while she was making my bed (I just like to cradle a lot of pillows while I sleep) but I fell asleep the moment I lay down, before she could return with more pillows! But when I woke up a few hours later, I was surrounded by a huge pile of fluffy pillows. It was like sleeping in a nest! 😂 It was still the best sleep I've ever gotten on an airplane!

Yes! Most of my points came from American Express & Chase! I got the 100K signup bonus when I signed up to Amex platinum and had 60K leftover which I transferred to krisflyer! Then the rest came from Chase points and I had remaining 9K I was struggling to find and it turns out you can transfer Hyatt points to Krisflyer and I had some leftover from ages ago!! 😂😂 the main thing was I chose to fly back on a Tuesday and to EWR airport and not JFK which is usually where everyone flies to!

The first dish you had which you described as stir fried noodle was called Hor-Fun (or stir fried kway teow if translated to english) and it is one of my favourite Singaporean dish, along with chicken rice. I can have it once every week.
As a singaporean I can tell you some stuff about chicken rice: 1. The rice is usually ALOT 2. The chicken tends to be quite bland that’s why we have bunch of sauces like dark soy sauce and chilli 3. The rice is usually quite flavourful though but i think it lost flavour up in the air

Damn, you got all The Singaporean Dish, my recent 6 days ago flight on SQ218 Economy Class from Melbourne to Singapore were Singaporean and Australian dish and it was amazing. The best dish I have was the scrambled eggs with sausages but the ice cream I have was just okay only
Missed your trip reports. Recentlty did prem eco sia from jfk to singapore. Met one of the nicest and most hardworking crew on that flight. They offered drinks every hour on the flight and made sure everyone was comfortable. But I agree, one of the things SIA needs to work on is their food. A hit or miss and needs to be consistent. Thanks again for sharing!
If I am ever lucky enough to fly SG business class I don't think I could resist the Lobster Thermador from Book the Cook. Your Beach Road Prawn Noodle Soup looked terrific as well.

This just comes to show that airlines are more than capable of provided comfortable experiences, but purposefully make the economy a bad experience so that you can want to upgrade.
I am also collecting pts hope 1 day i can use pts to upgrade. I need 3 tickets for family so buying with pts for business class is way too much, thinking to buy premium econ then use pts to upgrade
Singapore Airlines used to be rated #1 for over 20 years but then lost the top position to Qatar Airlines. IMO they placing all their emphasis on First Class and are ranked #1 for First Class but this is to the detriment of Business Class. There are a lot of little things they are not doing right in Business Class that has caused them to lose their top spot. One has to do with the amenity kit which it seems you did not get. This is because they no longer give it out. You have to REQUEST IT to get it !!! WTF.
Yes Qatar business class is good. Last trip, i asked for The amenity kit. The stewardess asked if i didn’t get it. She said it’s their new policy to distribute which was not true for me at that point. Inconsistencies.

The chicken rice looks like Taiwan 7/11. Since last year SA business class has lost it with bad food. Well some airlines need time to fix it lack of pilots , FA, or ground crew. 2 TH-camrs got food poison in Bali 2 months ago i need to pack medicine to go Bali next week.

I had SQ chicken rice earlier this year and they only gave me 3 slice of chicken which was very disappointing so I was gonna have chicken rice at Changi but only chicken rice shop was closed. 🥲

Our experiance with Singapore Airlines were disappointing. The worst was meal time. It took soooo long to serve us even just for snacks.
Once business its difficult to go back to economy again. At least premium economy :D
