Thanks for your very informative video! I have this phone and my battery swelled up so bad that the case separated from the screen. I bought a battery off of eBay and removed the old battery and installed the new one. The old battery had some very sticky 2-sided tape inside to hold it in place. The only thing I had to watch for was the very thin black wire that runs along the edge of one side on the inside of the case, had to make sure when I snapped it back together that the wire didn't get pinched. Everything went back together as it should and the battery is charging right now. Thank you again for your video, it was very helpful!

Awesome! I’m grateful I was able to help you out. If there is anything else I can help with let me know. Especially something that a video would be helpful to you or those you know. I’ve got a list to create but always love to help.

Hi Evanation great video! I have the same cellphone, a TCL A3X. My cellphone suddenly went black on me. Nothing happens. The screen is black. It won't turn on. I'm pretty sure battery was charged up before the phone went black. I tried plugging it in, but nothing happens with the phone. It won't turn on. It happened to me before and I took the back cover off, then suddenly it turned back on again.
But this time when I took the back cover off, nothing happened. It still won't turn on.
Is the battery completely dead? Do I need to replace the battery?

When it came on did it stay on and show full battery? That sounds more like a loose connection. You could replace the battery but I would double check the battery connector to the motherboard just isn’t loose. If everything looks good and no battery swelling, you may consider a replacement phone as it could be something more.

@@Evanation81 .. Hello, hey my phone came back on! Last night I took off the back cover and just pressed on the battery a little bit and tried to move it around without taking it out.
Then this morning I put the cover back on and it started up. But this problem seems to happen every 60 days or so. It will just freeze and screen will go black and it will not turn back on for some reason. The battery reading says 100. So I'm assuming the battery is not the problem.. But I can't figure out why it does this.

Every 60 days is odd. It is potentially the battery still but hard to diagnose. Check your storage, make sure it is not getting full. The system does require a certain amount of free space to operate properly. If storage is good, I would back up all your photos and factory reset then perform any updates. Rule out any software issue. If it continues I would opt for a new phone since the A3X is cheap on eBay or even new at Walmart sometimes.

I just noticed my phone bulging today just a little bit about like the old battery on this video. Is this phone prone to this problem? Should I replace the battery or get a different model of phone?

Any battery of this type is going to eventually do this. Especially if you leave your phone on a charger all the time. Batteries need to be exercised. If you feel comfortable just replace the battery. I have Samsung A03Ss that do the same so it isn’t contained to a particular model/manufacturer.

@@Evanation81 My battery swelled up really bad and I was in the habit of having it plugged in and charging all the time because I don't use it that much. Thanks for the tip, I replaced the battery and I won't have it plugged in all the time from now on.

Excellent, hope it helps your battery last until you are ready for a new phone.
