@@proofprof63 I consider myself diehard, if anything, and stuck like glue for the last 50 years, but absolutely not a Queenie. It sounds so underweight and tacky for a rock band, especially THIS rock band. Connoisseur is much better and if the band is Queen I even think Subject, Patriot, or Royalist are more suitable collective nouns, but that's just me.
imagine ANY Band of today sounding this good LIVE without the auto tune or other computer enhancements that they did not have back in the early 80's... this is why for me queen is the best Band/Group of all time..
Don't see any evidence for that. At 8.00 Brian ends on a sustained note, for the vocals/percussion only section where Freddie gets the crowd involved. I saw Queen live four times, from 1980-1984, and they always had this section and other similar sections in their songs where instruments were low or silenced, just to break the song up. Yes you can see Brian going over to the side at that moment but that's because he knew there was a break in guitar for this section and might have been just checking a string tuning - or even taking a drink! (as Freddie did in this song) If you note across a full two hour Queen gig, there are periods when the guitar isn't playing.
I went to see it in IMAX having seen Queen live during this era (in 1980 and 1982). I have to say there were moments in that film where I thought I was IN the concert audience of 40+ years before. It was that good. For anyone who wants to see and hear what it was like at a full Queen live show (Queen live 1971-1986, not since), go to see that in sound surround and IMAX, if it's ever shown again.
It's impossible to spot but in the middle there is a lengthy section where Freddie as at stage front doing his thing and you can't see Brian but Freddie keeps looking around to where Brian should be. This is because Brian had broken a string and ran off to get it fixed, the others were just filling til he got back. It's really seamless and so professionally done, incredible.
As a commentator above said, this clip from 1981 was a great live performance. Live Aid was a brilliant 20 minutes - probably one of the best short lived performances of all time. But ANY full Queen concert to 1986 was better than Live Aid - two hours not 20 minutes; more volume; more effects; and Freddie's voice better than it was at Live Aid when he had a sore throat. Everyone should watch, if they can, the full filmed show of this Montreal gig, or Milton Keynes 1982, or one of the 1970s gigs. Of course, watch the Live Aid performance - it's gotta be done! But remember it's only 20 minutes of greatness.
I was at that concert on Nov. 25th, 1981...I was 15 at the time. Still got the ticket and program. Price of the ticket: $10.50! Five days earlier it was Black Sabbath and two weeks later AC-DC. That was $30 well spent!

That tiny little blip you mentioned while talking about Brian May was reportedly due to a string breaking. He steps to somewhere out of screen to deal with it. Freddie knew and ad libbed a little. Brian comes back in...seamless. And still perfect!
I REALLY think you'd appreciate the instrumentals from all of them during their performance of White Queen live at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1974 - there's an absolutely stunning interlude in the middle. They're all ridiculously talented. John could play every instrument, Roger played a bit of guitar too (as did Freddie), and Brian is also great on piano (he plays at the start of Save Me from this same concert before switching with Freddie, and often plays keyboard too). Roger and Brian also have more than one solo album each and are great singers; check out their tribute song to Freddie about seven years after his death. It's called No One But You (Only the Good Die Young). It's super sad, of course (and John's last appearance in the band), but the music video is a beautiful tribute.
Thank you, that’s what I call a brilliant reaction!...Freddie wrote this song as a tribute to Aretha Franklin...he had hoped that she would sing it some day....John Deacon...a degree in electronics built Brian’s amp from scrap metal...some of which he found while skip diving...by the way was Brian playing a syncopated half beat (Is that what it’s called?)in the latter half of that song...so difficult...going against your natural instinct.....also you definitely need to watch “One Vision, The Documentary”.....20 mins. And well worth it...seeing them working on the song🤩
If you pay attention at 7.55 , Freddy starts imprvising when he notices that Brian is leaving the stage, and only continues with the song when he chekcs that he's back. Not only great musicians, but excellent professionals.
Great reaction. I'm so happy you appreciate Roger's talent. Watch his timpani solo at this concert! In fact watch the whole concert. It's amazing. Queen had come off the road 2 months earlier and this was a special 2 night filmed gig, so everyone is fresh but still well rehearsed. Roger does the majority of backing vocals in concert. Check out Under Pressure Wembley 1986 and Action This Day Milton Keynes 1982 for his duets with Freddie. Also I'm In Love With My Car for his solo at this concert.
This entire concert at the Montreal Forum was epic! It's interesting that in later years, Brian and Roger did a commentary while rewatching this and said that the band had not really wanted to do this gig. They had come off a long tiring tour a short time before and found that their manager had set this up for a would-be film maker, unbeknowst to them. They went into it annoyed and soon became angry at all the interference by cameramen on stage and by the demands of the director, especially with regard to wardrobe. The concert was to be 2 nights and they were ordered to wear the exact same clothing for film reasons. This was the final blow to Freddie! Anyway this became the fuel for an aggressive performance and for a definitely noncompliant wardrobe: See We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions. Also especially, see Dragon Attack and Save Me for more 100-proof performances at this concert. Definitely enjoyed your reactions and subscribed

PeAcE, Love and Light to all!" Freddie Mercury ~ channeled 12/15/24 @9:51pm.
There is a 19 minute Roger Taylor cam at Wembley that is awesome. It's 4 songs from the concert and it's exhausting watching him. I watch it no less than a couple of times a week and never get tired of it. Keep up the great work.
Queen is in concert to entertain YOU, and You and you too! But I feel like Freddie is always intent on entertaining ME! I mean, those 4 legends are simply the best and this number is the very best. Really enjoyed watching with you two. React to them doing "Liar" live. 👏👏👏
Fun reaction. Interesting to see a band type perspective on this amazing performance. Give "Save Me" from the same concert a try. It's my favorite live Queen performance.
I was there! The night before I saw them in Toronto and Killer Queen was the show stopper, the next night in Montreal this was the mind blower. I saw them live 4 times, bloody best concerts ever. Back in those days, live concerts were everything, we’d work tons of hours after school for ticket money and we’d plan our year around which concerts were coming!
Love your Queen reaction videos and talking about where each instrument should sit in the frequency spectrum to make a full sound. You should react to their live version of the song “Liar” from Live at the Rainbow 1974
These guys were absolutely brimming with talent. This wasn't part of a tour even. Just seasoned professionals. No in-ears. Freddies side fills on the piano were known to take ones head off in volume. The natural thing for you guys now is the entire live aid show. The epic performance that was the beginning of the end of this pillar of our musical history.
A few fun facts about Queen: * Guitarist Sir Brian May has a Ph.D. in Astrophysics and built his electric guitar (Red Special) when he was 17 (with his dad). * Bassist John Deacon has a degree in electronics. He designed and built the amp that Brian sometimes uses to create unique sounds on Red Special. John was also involved in the band's financial management. * Drummer Roger Taylor has a degree in biology (pre-med). His vocal range is better than most lead singers of other groups. * Lead singer Freddie Mercury has a degree in graphic design. It goes without saying that his vocal range was amazing and he was the best front man of any band. * All four have written #1 hits, and all are members of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Loved your reaction! So much in the Queen catalog for you to choose from on your journey, no two songs sound the same so you won't be disappointed. If you react we'll happily join you for the ride. I especially love it when musicians react because you don't miss anything. 👑
Brian broke a string just before Freddie went to the front and interacted with the audience, looking back over his shoulder to see when Brian was coming back. So professional!
Pure Magic!! Watched this so many times on youtube. Huge regret that I decided not to go that day after being offered a seat in a carload going up from Toronto (what the hell was wrong with me?!!)
I was fortunate to see Queen during this tour at the Baltimore Civic Center in August of 1980. I was 18 at the time and I still vividly remember this concert. Freddie owned the crowd from the moment he stepped on the stage.
As a life long Queenie, I'd like to suggest you listen to Queen - White Queen - Live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975 (High Quality Audio). This was the Queen I fell in love with. I was ten years old when this was recorded, so had already been a fan for a year. I'd saved my pocket money and anything I could cadge off my Granddad and bought their previous albums. This is the tour that launched Bohemian Rhapsody. It was broadcast live on Christmas Eve on BBC2's music program The Old Grey Whistle Test. All the best, Helen in the East Midlands UK.
@@MikePhillips-pl6ov It was the same for me. I ran home from Brownies on the Thursday evening, to be home in time for the start of Top Of The Pops. I remember my mouth falling open and falling in love with them doing Killer Queen. I'd heard them on the radio but never seen them until then. I saw a photo from back then of my in my Brownie uniform and can't believe I looked so young and angelic but in my heart I was a bit of a 'Rock-Chick.' haha
Fave live performance of all time! Always loved queen and it is my all time number 1 band buthis is the performance when I finally clocked how good Roger's voice is whilst playing perfect drums! Think he might be my favourite drummer! If you really want to see more of Roger's awesome voice you have to do a reaction to Killer Queen & I'm In Love With My Car Medley also live from Montreal 1981! It's nuts!! 👍👌😎💯🔥🔥
It's one thing to watch people who aren't musicians react to a music video or song and it's all very surface level stuff. They're just enjoying a good song. But as someone who played piano and keyboards but was never allowed to be in a band by my abusive father, watching 2 guys who are actually in a band and appreciate the music for what it truly is and all the nuances of a performance, expressing sheer joy, is really something else. You guys have been on stage performing your music, so the reacting is deeper when you see one of the greatest bands to ever do it at the peak of their talents. You know what goes into a performance and what they're doing instrumentally and vocally. Great stuff.
That was my niece's first concert in Montréal. It was a present for her 13th birthday and she went with her best friend. She saw them Queen again, of course, but she still raves about this concert, to this day. And she still owns all the LPs.
Check out the Official Queen version of Somebody To Love. It's a joy to watch and listen to. Then check out other concerts where Freddie changes up the songs. He never sings the same way twice.
Great reaction! Just pointing out here - your obviously very new channel has 448 subscribers, but this reaction has 5.2K views in one day. That's because it's Queen. 😊 There's a lot of us Queen fans who search for Queen reactions and when we find them we pay attention. Dive right on into the rabbit hole. It's deep, but it's worth it.
Now you know why we recommended this song at this concert! I see that after the 3 hours that this video has been available to view, you have already passed the 200 subscribers mark. Congratulations! If you want to see more of Roger singing, check out the 'Killer Queen/ I'm in love with my car' medley from this same concert. For epic piano and guitar, try White Queen, live at the Hammersmith Odeon, 1975
I suggest you watch the Milton Keynes version of this song. The beginning is completely different and it has a completely different feel. If not, if you want to hear John Deacon doing amazing job slapping the bass, watch dragon attack at montreal. It's an awesome performance. Also, if you want to see something amazing, watch 500,000 people sing at Rock in Rio Love of my Life. You guys are amazing reactors. I'm looking forward to teaching you some Queendom.
My favorite Queen song ever ( and Freddie’s favorite ) You also need to see Somebody To Love Live at Milton Keynes !! It’s even slightly more awesome than Montreal 🥰 Plz more QUEEN Impossible to get enough 😂
Brian May and Roger Taylor both have solo material. Though when you have Freddie as a lead vocal, you gladly settle for backup! Part of Queen's sound on stage is provided by the Deacy, which is an amp John Deacon made himself out of broken radio equipment he found in the trash somewhere! Brian is an astrophysicist in his spare time and has done some work with NASA. Clearly, building your own guitar(with your father) and playing lead for a phenomenal band isn't enough! 😂
Remember the crazy high notes in Bohemian Rhapsody? That was Roger Taylor. Incredible singer.
All makes sense now

PeAcE, Love and Light to all!" Freddie Mercury ~ channeled 12/15/24 @9:51pm.
They’re STILL the only group to give me goosebumps 👌🏻
Mee too
There is a 19 minute Roger Taylor cam at Wembley that is awesome. It's 4 songs from the concert and it's exhausting watching him. I watch it no less than a couple of times a week and never get tired of it. Keep up the great work.
I bet that's a really cool watch
Queen is in concert to entertain YOU, and You and you too! But I feel like Freddie is always intent on entertaining ME! I mean, those 4 legends are simply the best and this number is the very best. Really enjoyed watching with you two. React to them doing "Liar" live. 👏👏👏
Fun reaction. Interesting to see a band type perspective on this amazing performance.
Give "Save Me" from the same concert a try. It's my favorite live Queen performance.
Thank you so much I saw Queen 👑 at main road in 1986 absolutely fantastic 👍🏻
GOAT !!!!!
A few fun facts about Queen:
* Guitarist Sir Brian May has a Ph.D. in Astrophysics and built his electric guitar (Red Special) when he was 17 (with his dad).
Passion! ❤
Great reaction, I would say this is my all time favourite Queen performance and you have picked out all the things that make it that for me.
So many great performances from this show. BoRap, love of my life & dragon attack to name a few.
Lots more Queen please!🎼❤️🎼
I was fortunate to see Queen during this tour at the Baltimore Civic Center in August of 1980. I was 18 at the time and I still vividly remember this concert. Freddie owned the crowd from the moment he stepped on the stage.
That's awesome! So jealous
One Vision Live at Wembley 1986.
The Great freddie , And The Queen .Legend
Freddie was so piss#### about the filming of this. They been on tour for over 12 months they were so tired. God bless Queen
I was 14 then, what did it for me was seeing the band with Killer Queen on Top Of The Pops in 1974. I just knew they were different!
It's nuts!! 👍👌😎💯🔥🔥
1000 out of a hundred. A walk off Grand Slam.
Please do Under Pressure from Wembly 1986.
They’re a band called Queen. Of course, they rule on stage.
I love queen and all live perform
Thank you so much!
It's really sad times hear about you not being able to perform.
It's never too late though!
Time to do golden boy…..amazing!!🎼❤️🎼
I must have watched nearly every reaction to this performance on TH-cam, never gets old. Perfection.
I was lucky enough to see them in concert, great show
We are jealous!
Keep doing Queen
You won’t regret it ❤
More to come!
@@MoreMeetArthur thank you I do appreciate your reviews!!
Don’t stop when Queen is singing
You interrupt the flow of the song!!!
Effortless perfection.
Definitely, these videos are doing way better than we expected thanks to you guys!
The video has been out 14 hours at the time I’ve sent this and the video has gained us 120 subs!! We can’t believe it! 😂 MORE QUEEN VERY SOON HAHA!
You should watch roger singing I’m in love with my car from the same concert as well as playing the drums
I'm looking forward to teaching you some Queendom.
everything Freddie did was effortless.....
Wanne see an audience overperform ? love of my life - queen RIO . GOAT Band QUEEN forvever
