Legendary!
At that time people were focused on the performance and there were no giant screens to distract people from what was happening on stage......Congratulations on your channel
Phils drumming is absolutely incredible, like a human metronome. They were all absolutely on fire during this session.
It’s super impressive! Agreed, all of them in this whole session 10/10 unreal
If you like that one, you should also check out (Have it all) by foo fighters
My dog howls during the "oohh's"
Lmao literally searched foo fighters rope reaction right now and you guys just dropped this haha
Was meant to be 👀
That drummer having just another day in the office is the world renowned Simon Phillips! British drummer, composer, engineer, producer! He’s a true master of the instrument and music production. You check him out more.
The GOAT !
On of them!
The lyrics move me, they’re absolutely devastating
I really like your perspective on the meaning of the video and song! For the last section of the video I kind of took it to mean him reaching a sort of heaven that society tells us we should aspire to reach in life then concluding that he should reject it to save his individuality and freedom. This heaven is full of conformity with all of the angel costumes being uniform and could refer to a sense of safety in money and job stability that requires you to become like everyone else. Maybe it is a critique on society and how in order to become successful you have to blend in with everyone else leading to a homogenized and uninspiring society. He slowly starts to put his neon jumpsuit back on indicating he has regained his sense of self and exits heaven showing that he values his own unique identity more than the heaven that stability and fakeness can offer.
Oooo very cool perspective this! Love so much that one song can bring some many ideas and opinions just shows the level of their song writing! Glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for sharing what you think!
@@MoreMeetArthur Of course! Their music is going to be analyzed schools one day. Literal poetry.
My favorite is Radio Ga Ga. Sheesh, I wish I was there! Btw you pause too much.
All the four members of this group were playing lead instrument! This is their secret...and, ok, the volume was always LOUD AND LOUDER (Pete became deaf...who knows why?!). P.S This perfomance is legendary!!! The ending, the last minute, is mindblowing!!!🤯😁
This wasn't even recorded yet. She was a last minute replacement playing something she'd been working on 😮. The first 10000 pressing was this performance before she could get into a studio to do a proper single. Insane performance.
only played after SRV did it
Tickets cost between £5 and £20 depending on where you were in the stadium I was about a third of the way on and mine was £7.50
No los culpen, son el reflejo fiel de la generacion que no ha hecho ni ha vivido algo y que creen que el mundo nace con ellos.
Cool AI picture!
Happy New Year chaps! Hope all is well in your world. This song makes me feel nostalgic, it feels older than it is which I love. I can hear a bit of Stand By Me and Creep but not overwhelmingly. It’s a song that will stand the test of time amongst fans I reckon. Well done lads 🍻👏
Hope you had a great Christmas and New Years man! One of my favourites this tune (Micky here) glad you enjoy it too! Will drop you a message soon about some updates 👀
It's 60 thousand people
Crazy!
¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ THE WHO are SOMETHING ELSE, INDEED !!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for recognizing Roger on this. He KILLS IT.
Just discovered your channel, and I must admit I fancy it immensely. 😊
Thank you! Check out some more videos 😊
those shoes........pretty maids all in a row........in the city........ those are great b sides
He was absolutely not David Bowie guitarist!!!! How was invited to play one song and accepted. End of story.
He played on the whole of Bowie’s Let’s Dance album.
I am with YOU, I so much prefer the earlier Beatles TOO, probably because THAT is what I heard to begin with when I was 16/17 year 1964 and they exploded on the radio on Dec.26, 1963 and domintated through January 1964 into February, and the rest of that year. THESE were the songs that STARTED it all for THEM and us FANS. I can't tell you how much my friends and I DANCED our brains out to "I SAW HER STANDING THERE" the PERFECT ROCK and ROLL song and beat. YES it's NOT easy to play bass lines like Paul's and be able to SING the melody at the same time. THAT is why you don't see many bass players who also do most of the singing as well!! SAME with DRUMMERS who can sing while drumming, LIKE RINGO, Phil Collins, Don Henley of The Eagles, and Abe Laborial Jr, (McCartney's drummer for the last 20 + years while touring. )
You should listen to Through the Echoes live on Jools Holland. So much soul.
It's called lead drums. I guess you wouldn't like Keith Moon either.
Love Keith Moon, lead drums isn’t a thing. Drums compliment the song just like how in The Who Pete, Roger and John worked around Keith’s playing style to create a unique sound. We didn’t like this performance…. World keeps turning TomO
@MoreMeetArthur Lead drums is a thing as per Pete Townshend and others. It just means they are driving the music instead of just following along.
You need to see BB King "How blue can you get" where he breaks a string and the tech just hands him a new string and BB changes it in the middle of the song.
Any Scottish person with any talent is always a CELTIC fan….Gerry is no different!
Dean ML's are actually pretty comfortable to play, the little star shape allows it to perfectly sit between your legs on the bottom and top so you can hold it like you would a stamdard snd maybe raise it a bit like a v.
sam fender loved up here too he loves playing up here💯🏴🏴
Sorry lads. I know music is subjective but this is a pretty bad review. The drumming in this is phenomenal. If you watch the whole Alchemy Live concert, its absolute perfection. Mark Knopfler is a perfectionist and produced and oversaw the whole album and Alchemy Live video. He’s produced film scores, some of the biggest selling albums of all time, selling millions of records. Pretty sure if the drumming was too much he wouldn’t have included it on the album
Fair comment, as you said music is subjective - For us we stand by what we said but don’t expect anybody to agree with us. If you like it then fair enough best thing about music is there is no right or wrong! Appreciate your comment, great example of respectfully disagreeing.
Love it fellas. Regarding the start, I definitely noticed an 'environmental change' as the camera adjusted from a behind to front view starting at 2:43. Could just be something as simple as a shotgun mic on the camera coupled with a lapel, and it seems like they might be sampling some of the drum kit/instrumental from the in-room mics in the build-up to the bands reunion. So much subtlety going on from a wide array of sources, it's glorious. Cheers.
Hard radio gaga radio was just about the only thing we had for music we didn’t have cell phones and stuff like that. The reason we say gaga is because there was so much not true things on the radio. This is a rough time so you never knew what to believeand we were sick and tired of getting this trash so we have radio gaga
But he took it to their producer after they had done everything the guy rejected it said no it’s like they said well if you say don’t do this, we’ll find somebody else at the guy says it’ll never be on radio it’s too long so he went to one of his friends, got it on the radio, and everybody went crazy and everybody was singing. It’s fun to be goofy.

Bryan was it is a scientist at NASA. He’s incredibly bright. He has the highest level there and the other guitar player can’t think of a day right now, but he was a dentist and the guy that was play the drums he was an engineer Cesar really educated people.
The reason it didn’t cost a whole lot of money for the whole idea was it was all these guys were for flower being for free and it was on television and it was on two other big concert places in United States. It was for the reason it was called AIDS is it was for the Ethiopians And they were starving. I was in peace core in Ethiopia the Highlands I read in way 145 I came out weighed 190 there was no food and it was hard to get water like we were too high up to boil our water, you boil it and it’s like so what you can put your hands in it, so these people were desperate and I really the guy originally came up with the idea of having this concert and having it televised and I think it was three other places and all the time you’re listening, you could call Lynn and make donations
Instead of picking faults ( we all find what we want to in the end) so let's play nice and the positivity no??
The seven bridges road is one of those underrated songs that really show off the harmonies
Oan ma ayePad guys. Great review.
Live @ Austin City Limits.
It's just insane !
I watched this the night before school and almost cried! Unbelievable how good this was and still sooooo underrated 😢
Best band in years. Hope they win best rock album
Strongly agree
If you’re looking for their most underrated song… maybe the most underrated song ever… check out The Last Resort. If Hotel California was Mona Lisa, Last Resort is the whole Sistine Chapel!!! It’s beautiful poetry about how man is guilty of “raping the land.” It’s one of those songs you have to listen to the lyrics closely, and you’re like WOW! Sung by Don Henley… one of the best male voices of all time. I’d love to see you react to it.
I was at that concert on Nov. 25th, 1981...I was 15 at the time. Still got the ticket and program. Price of the ticket: $10.50! Five days earlier it was Black Sabbath and two weeks later AC-DC. That was $30 well spent!
Arguably the best $30 ever spent!
@@MoreMeetArthur Judging from experience, ticket prices went up $1/year between 1979 and the mid-80s. Frank Zappa: $9.50, Kiss: $10, Ozzy: $11.50, Supertramp: $12. Iron Maiden or Rush cost $12.50 and Bowie $15. Things started to escalate with Roger Waters in '84: $20, a 50% hike from the average price. People went ''WTF?!'' but it was a sold-out show, and that sent a clear message to the entertainment industry. Prices exploded in the late 80s: in 1987 Pink Floyd cost me $25 and I paid $32.50 to see the Stones in '89. By today's standards it's a joke but $32.50 was twice the average ticket price from just 4 years before. By 2007 a Genesis concert cost $163, 4 times what the setlist was worth that night and last summer I saw floor tickets to a Heart concert going for $550. At that price Nancy Wilson - even at 70 - has to play with my balls! The first Rock concert I saw was Cheap Trick in 1979 and the ticket went for $8.50. If the ''+$1/year'' trend had continued since then, the average ticket would now cost $53.50. The Police in 1981: $11, The Police in 2007: $106. Do the math. Happy new year to everyone at the channel!
The women talk about his voice...i saw one reactor wishing she was his mic. I was like bwaaat? Also, check out "life without you for a guitar exchange.

"...I go down on my knees and I start to pray..." Then the heavens parted. And God said, "Billy..." And Freddie answered, "The name is Freddie..." God answered back, "IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOUR NAME IS!!!"
