Sweet Emotion is the smoothest hard song you'll ever hear. The other worldly bass line, flowing into the funky drum groove, the smooth ethereal vocals layering in on top and then Joe Perry ripping your face off with several rough driving riff change-ups. Rinse and repeat. DAMN.

I saw Aerosmith at Fenway Park on September of 2022, one of the last live gigs they did, and the second to last song of the show with a blistering version of "Sweet Emotion". It was definitely sweet! BTW, you should check out Aerosmith performing "Train Kept A Rollin' " live at Donington in the UK, with Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin. There is a reason Aerosmith is considered America's Premier Hard Rock band, and it is songs like this. Their first four albums for sure, and large parts of five and six are pure, unadulterated Blues Based Rock and Roll. Written by Bassist Tom Hamilton and Lead Singer Steven Tyler.

@@ConspiracySmurf, I think Steve Perry can outsing a lot of people, but he has to stay in that high soprano, which is ok, but he doesn’t do much for me. I do believe that the better singer between the two would always be Steven Tyler. He has so many ranges, depths, and he can hit all ranges in between, plus he has that raspiness when he wants to bring that out and his screams are amazing. I just don’t see a contest.

Now that you’ve heard the song, you should check out the official music video - it is funny.
Just so you know, back in the 70’s and 80’s, cell phones did not exist, so the music video shows a popular business of phone sex back in the day. People would dial up a phone sex line on their landline and the service would charge a fee per minute that would appear on their monthly phone bill. Lots of sex fantasy businesses made their money that way. The generic term for any phone business that made you pay-by-the-minute was 1-900 number. (BTW, no-cost phone numbers were called 1-800 numbers.)
Knowing that context, now go watch the official music video.

have albums such as "Toys In The Attic" (I believe this song is from it) and "Rocks"
with one of my favorite songs "Back In The Saddle." They have stood the test of time. Their
later stuff got a bit too commercial for my taste.

FunFact: In the third verse: You're telling me things, but your girlfriend lied. You can't catch me 'cause the rabbit done died, yes it did. (this is actually based around an ole' timey saying.) In "old times" a rabbit would be used as a way to test for pregnancies and was once believed that if a rabbit was injected with a pregnant woman's urine, if the rabbit died the woman was pregnant. However, this has been debunked for several decades, now. But by understanding the reference...then there's more clarity to the lyrics of the song....or does it?? 🤔

    “You Can’t catch me”
    “Cause the Rabbit done died”
    “Yes It Did”
……back in the 1930’s there was a pregnancy test that involved injecting a rabbit with the girls urine and than killing the rabbit 2 days later for testing to see if there was a change in the female rabbits ovaries that only a pregnant womens urine would have ! No lie 😂🤣😅
