I got a 16 year old 1000 watt PSU I still use. If I don’t use the computer within a few days it usually takes a couple attempts to get going and just shuts off right away. I am guessing the capacitors are getting weak? It’s been this way for around the past 5 years. It’s not my main machine but it’s still great to use to watch Netflix on in my daughters playroom.

What if you have a 3 monitor setup, all screens connected to one GPU and you have these symptoms randomly, not very often, accruing: - when pc is started from turned off state (cold) the GPU fans will go off like turbines, no picture appears on the screens and the pc doesn’t Boot at all. The pc will stay in this state until power is disconnected and will eventually come back to life after several boot try’s. - when the gpu gets load, in my case typically when showing the 3d printers movement in the slicer software, the screens will go black. I can then still connect to my pc sometimes using TeamViewer as the pc is still working, but without picture output on the screens. To then shutdown and restart the system correctly. In 80% of the time this works. If not, I have to force shut down the system by the power switch or power cable unfortunately - my ram is ok, all the other hardware works just fine when the pc is working. But sometimes, it behaves like described. Faulty capacitors in my PSU? The system is 11 years old now (i7, 16GB Ram, SSD raid) and is still ok for me - but maybe 11 years is to much for some components. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance and happy New Year’s 🎆
My pc screens go black and my fans ramp up (only on intensive games), at first I thought my gpu was overheating, so I repasted it, and the issue is still happening. I suspect its the awful cheap psu I have. I would love to hear other peoples thoughts.
I have this exact same issue. Doesn't seem to be gpu related (i'm using a 2080 super). My psu is a CoolerMaster MWE 750. Some games like Overwatch, Skyrim, and Dragon Age Inquisition and I can play for 15min - 2hr before the black screen and fan ramping while others like Cyberpunk, Divinity 2, and Vermentide 2 will crash immediately upon getting into the game unless I turn down all the settings to lowest which will give me the same 15min-2hr of playtime. Any help would be greatly appreciated or just letting me know if replacing your psu fixed the problem for you. Thanks!

Although in that case it was caused by the gpu, he did say at some point in the video that it could be a power delivery issue. Also a lot of the recent comments on that video talk about how they had the same issue and replacing there psu fixed it.

In event viewer im getting 2 errors after the shutdown 41 (which i believe is referring to shutting down the pc with the power button) and 6008 which says it could be caused by gpu overheating or psu malfunction. I'm fairly confident everything is good with my gpu and hoping its the psu because thats a cheaper fix haha. Hopefully we both can get this fixed for a new year of gaming!

My PC makes this loud buzzing/humming noise. I took the PSU out last night, cleaned it and it went silent again. Then today I booted it up and the loud noise is back. Sometimes when I start it up it will negate the first boot up and start again on the 2nd try. Is mine failing?

I have been dealing with random shut downs in a new build. I'm using an old PSU and noticed that the fan isn't coming on. When I asked a tech about the fan I was told that they don't always come on until the fan is needed. But I never see it on. So far I have been able to run my PC for 24 hours without issue. The only time I crash is when I am gaming. I can go maybe half and hour before shut down. Today I took off the side panel and placed a fan directed at the PSU. I went 2 hours in game before the PC shut down. What is going wrong here?
Bought a new pc and my power supply has been having this coil whine since i got it, now my pc usually reboots or shuts down by itslef once or twice when i first start it up within the first couple minutes. The #2 is relatable and suddenly your CMOS become melted with the other parts on it, then it will start lagging when you play games and sadly I wasted bunch of CMOS then I realized its my PSU is the major problem😔

I’m trying to identify where my issue is coming from. My display will crash but I can still hear audio. The last time it happened, the other components like the fans turned off as well. It was like the PC was off but I could still hear audio. It’s not the gpu because I’ve swapped to my old one already. I’m almost finished the ram test and it says no problems yet. I’m just thinking it’s between mobo and psu but does this sound like it could be a psu issue? The psu fan is working.

Hi, my mouse and keyboard sometime keep connecting and reconnecting it happen when I plug both mouse and keyboard but if I plug only keyboard i won't happen at all. is it my psu failure? or my mouse just broke down if so, how does a broken mouse cause other usb port error too?
I just had my PC shut off today but the ran was still lit up. Then I ordered even down and unplugged it. Plugged it back on and nothing. No light on the MOBO, no RGB ram, no fans spinning nothing. I'm hoping only my PSU went and that it didn't take anything else with it in the process.

My PC shuts off if my Power Supply cord is touched lightly. Since my PSU is connected to my Harddrive for the Operating System, can this be a reason why my Harddrive may have Corrupted Files?

I'm facing issues with an i5 8400. The computer keeps restarting by itself on idle or playing. But I swapped it with a lower cpu processor, which is a Intel G5400 and it runs flawless. Could it be the i5 8400 is taking up too much power for the 600W Certified PSU or the CPU i5 dead?
My pc freeze up every 3-12 hour, either it restarts itself or i have to hit the reset button. I've tried my RAM sticks with memtest86+ for about 6 hours (8 tests) with everyting passed. Also checked all the hard drives and they seem to be in good condition. Scanned my pc entirely for viruses and didn't find nothing. I DO have a riser cable for my GPU. it must be that interfiering due to bad cable or something, or the PSU. Right? ps. I've had the same issue with both win10 and 11. The issue went away for about 2 months completely after I dusted of my pc, then it came back. Clues?

Ever since the most recent update with windows 10 my PC crapped out on me frying both of my SSD drives and corrupting them. I tried the SSD drives in this laptop my buddy gave me and they did not work. I tried the old archaic hard drive from the laptop in my PC Got fried then my PC went into spontaneous reboot. But when I took that hard drive out and put back in both of my SSD drives it was loading normally at start up then gave a error saying I need to have a internal drive with windows. Give or take this PC is 10 years old my brother hand built it 10 years ago then I bought it off of him two years ago and it was working perfectly fine up until the moment I went to update it then it had crashed and both of my ssd's are now fried. Should I just get a whole new PC instead of frying new hardware trying to locate the problem ?

Few days ago I decided to clean my PC, so I used a blower (I turned off the power and I also didn't touch any equipment, I didn't unplug any wire from GPU, CPU, mainboard etc...) after I finished with the cleaning I came to turn my PC on but it went off right after I turned it on... so I decided to test few things, like I detached the RAMs and changed their places and I also switched the power outlet (instead of using multi outlet I connected PC straight to the outlet) so the thing happened was that PC stayed on for a longer time (few more seconds) but it still went off and turned on again by itself... it's more like a restart loop... rn I connected the monitor but I don't have a screen at all not even mainboard logo and literally black screen...

I had a psu die on me yesterday, it tripped my power supply. It is a Rm 1000x gold and is supposed to last 10 years plus. it is the gold editon, and under 10 year warrenty, i have had the psu for 5 years. It is the second time a psu of this type has failed, the first one lasted a year. Oh and its a corsair, there is a slight burning smell from the psu. i have applied to return it to the seller as i have said is under warrently. These day and age sellars and people who make them try to get out of honouring them. i have only used the cables that came with the psu. The fuse on the plug is ok, and i had an electrian check my power supply in the house and he said it was the psu on the pc.
@Velocity Micro i had some of those issues BUT it got fixed after i changed the battery on the motherboard...it stops failing for 2-3 weeks and then i need to change to a new battery again..could it still be my PSU?

I'm having a weird problem with a pc I built a year ago, so basically I use it normally and randomly the video goes off, the fans keep spinning, the rgb works, but the computer doesn't respond, i press the caps lock key and it doesn't work, the only way to turn the pc on again is to press the power button till it turn it off and then i turn it on again, it happens randomly, sometimes once a day, sometimes 10 times a day, sometimes once a week, and idk if it's the power supply or the motherboard, both are just 1 year old, and this happen also when I'm on the bios, doing nothing, so it has nothing to do with windows or a driver
@@2010aishwary My problem was the motherboard but was difficult to diagnose, I had to take my CPU to a repair shop for them to try in another motherboard and it worked fine, so since I already tested all the other components the last one was the motherboard, I changed the motherboard and now it works fine

i’m still tryna confirm if my psu is failing, i’ve had several blackouts throughout the months due to the heat where i’m at, my pc is a power hog and a high end one too, i stress test my pc/ benchmarks etc to see if i can replicate my pc randomly turning off on the start screen, what i found out is my psu cable wasnt plugged all the way in but at the same time i’m doubting that’s as entirely it.

so my pc has no fan that is supposed to get the hot air out of the case and my psu is the only guy who grabs that hot air and if my case gets too hot and psu gets hot too it starts making some wierd sizzling like sounds and im thinking maybe because i have no fan that will grab the hot air out of the case?

11th sign: if you see fire inside or coming out of your pc that may be caused by a bad power supply and you should shut it off

My corsair 450w turns on automatically when i switch on the psu switch, i didn't even need to jumper it. But runs normally its just it automatically turns my pc on too. Is my psu dying?
I have been dealing with random shut downs in a new build. I'm using an old PSU and noticed that the fan isn't coming on. When I asked a tech about the fan I was told that they don't always come on until the fan is needed. But I never see it on.
So far I have been able to run my PC for 24 hours without issue. The only time I crash is when I am gaming. I can go maybe half and hour before shut down. Today I took off the side panel and placed a fan directed at the PSU. I went 2 hours in game before the PC shut down.
What is going wrong here?
Bought a new pc and my power supply has been having this coil whine since i got it, now my pc usually reboots or shuts down by itslef once or twice when i first start it up within the first couple minutes. Also every once in a while my pc will just stutter, video and sound just stutters really bad for about 5 seconds. This video is helpful thanks

So my screen flickers from time to time after I recently changed my GPU and my PSU and I have to constantly replug the hdmi cable. Also, when I try running heavier games like Cyberpunk, my screen will suddenly say 'no input' and the only thing I could do is restart my PC. Does anyone know what's wrong with my PC?

The #2 is relatable and suddenly your CMOS become melted with the other parts on it, then it will start lagging when you play games and sadly I wasted bunch of CMOS then I realized its my PSU is the major problem😔

Hey guys please help my i don't know what wrong in my pc if i turn on after a minute it freeze and sometime it will reboot, but if i remove the graphics card it will ok again, whats the problem? My PSU because cant supply the enough power? Or my graphics card? But my graphics card is brand new 3months old RX580 a budget one so it means the psu are the problem?

while playing, the screen will black out, no power to mouse and keyboard but the system unit is still running, fan is still running.

I’m trying to identify where my issue is coming from. My display will crash but I can still hear audio. The last time it happened, the other components like the fans turned off as well. It was like the PC was off but I could still hear audio. It’s not the gpu because I’ve swapped to my old one already. I’m almost finished the ram test and it says no problems yet. I’m just thinking it’s between mobo and psu but does this sound like it could be a psu issue? The psu fan is working.

Hi, my mouse and keyboard sometime keep connecting and reconnecting it happen when I plug both mouse and keyboard but if I plug only keyboard i won't happen at all. is it my psu failure? or my mouse just broke down if so, how does a broken mouse cause other usb port error too?

I just had my PC shut off today but the ran was still lit up. Then I ordered even down and unplugged it. Plugged it back on and nothing. No light on the MOBO, no RGB ram, no fans spinning nothing. I'm hoping only my PSU went and that it didn't take anything else with it in the process.

Love to know where you get your information. I'm a PC tech of 18 years and I can tell you - there are other indicators of a paing PSU and you didnt mention even one. smoke? Sheesh!
My PC shuts off if my Power Supply cord is touched lightly.
Since my PSU is connected to my Harddrive for the Operating System, can this be a reason why my Harddrive may have Corrupted Files?

I have 2 problems with my Corsair cx 650w. 1 It doesn't always happen but I do have to press the button multiple times. 2nd whenever I launch a game and when the game is rendering then my pc crashes
I'm facing issues with an i5 8400. The computer keeps restarting by itself on idle or playing. But I swapped it with a lower cpu processor, which is a Intel G5400 and it runs flawless. Could it be the i5 8400 is taking up too much power for the 600W Certified PSU or the CPU i5 dead?

My pc freeze up every 3-12 hour, either it restarts itself or i have to hit the reset button. I've tried my RAM sticks with memtest86+ for about 6 hours (8 tests) with everyting passed. Also checked all the hard drives and they seem to be in good condition. Scanned my pc entirely for viruses and didn't find nothing. I DO have a riser cable for my GPU. it must be that interfiering due to bad cable or something, or the PSU. Right?
ps. I've had the same issue with both win10 and 11. The issue went away for about 2 months completely after I dusted of my pc, then it came back. Clues?

My power supply has an rgb fan I passed out last night with my pc on and it was frozen when I woke up rgb fans and ram where the same color turned it off and nothing happens the fans spin like it starting up but stops
Mainboard LED glowing when PSU is turned on.
Pressing the power-on button makes it glow for quarter of a second, then the whole mainboard loses power.
If im playing games my pc is not freezing but when im watching some random youtube videos it will freeze immediately and i dont know why is this power supply?
Was wondering why my pc did not boot, grandma told me last time it did a big blue flash, I tough she ment a blue death screen... but then she told me it was not from the screen... so yeah it's time to replace the psu and probably check most of the internal parts.

Ever since the most recent update with windows 10 my PC crapped out on me frying both of my SSD drives and corrupting them.
I tried the SSD drives in this laptop my buddy gave me and they did not work. I tried the old archaic hard drive from the laptop in my PC
Got fried then my PC went into spontaneous reboot. But when I took that hard drive out and put back in both of my SSD drives it was loading normally at start up then gave a error saying I need to have a internal drive with windows. Give or take this PC is 10 years old my brother hand built it 10 years ago then I bought it off of him two years ago and it was working perfectly fine up until the moment I went to update it then it had crashed and both of my ssd's are now fried.
Should I just get a whole new PC instead of frying new hardware trying to locate the problem ?
Built my first pc few months ago. Getting the blue screen error msg every 4 hrs or so. Im thinking “spontaneous reboot” but tbh i have no clue. Is there a way to fix this? Few days ago I decided to clean my PC, so I used a blower (I turned off the power and I also didn't touch any equipment, I didn't unplug any wire from GPU, CPU, mainboard etc...) after I finished with the cleaning I came to turn my PC on but it went off right after I turned it on... so I decided to test few things, like I detached the RAMs and changed their places and I also switched the power outlet (instead of using multi outlet I connected PC straight to the outlet) so the thing happened was that PC stayed on for a longer time (few more seconds) but it still went off and turned on again by itself... it's more like a restart loop... rn I connected the monitor but I don't have a screen at all not even mainboard logo and literally black screen...
I'm getting shocked, my pc gives me black screens in random situations and now my 3070 isn't working. My motherboard gives me the vga light and the fans sometimes spin and when it happens, the fans spin super fast, but then they slow down again. Now I thinks it's the psu, I hope my gpu isn't fucked.
when i’m streaming & doing some heavy gaming that’s when my pc would restart, checked the gpu temps (fine) cpu temps were fine as well so it’s definitely a psu issue, i’m guessing my psu isn’t giving enough amps/volts to the gpu which caused it to restart…had this psu since 2020 it’s a smart series thermaltake so i heard they’re pretty trash so it makes sense on why this happen lol

I added a gpu yesterday … it was t showing up so I pressed on the riser iwhile it was running.. i somehow made a shortcut I think… the pc went off and now doest turn back on.. no ram lights no cpu fan no signal just rgb lights on the back light up… u think this could be the psu too ?? I had a psu die on me yesterday, it tripped my power supply. It is a Rm 1000x gold and is supposed to last 10 years plus. it is the gold editon, and under 10 year warrenty, i have had the psu for 5 years. It is the second time a psu of this type has failed, the first one lasted a year. Oh and its a corsair, there is a slight burning smell from the psu. i have applied to return it to the seller as i have said is under warrently. These day and age sellars and people who make them try to get out of honouring them. i have only used the cables that came with the psu. The fuse on the plug is ok, and i had an electrian check my power supply in the house and he said it was the psu on the pc.

@Velocity Micro i had some of those issues BUT it got fixed after i changed the battery on the motherboard...it stops failing for 2-3 weeks and then i need to change to a new battery again..could it still be my PSU?

Hi, hope you can help. My newly built pc works fine until I try to play a game, keeps crashing!. When I try my Rx 550 that doesn’t need power from psu games work fine, but when I try my rx 580 that connects to the psu every games crash. Could it be the psu?

I'm having a weird problem with a pc I built a year ago, so basically I use it normally and randomly the video goes off, the fans keep spinning, the rgb works, but the computer doesn't respond, i press the caps lock key and it doesn't work, the only way to turn the pc on again is to press the power button till it turn it off and then i turn it on again, it happens randomly, sometimes once a day, sometimes 10 times a day, sometimes once a week, and idk if it's the power supply or the motherboard, both are just 1 year old, and this happen also when I'm on the bios, doing nothing, so it has nothing to do with windows or a driver
I have something similar.. only happens when I game.. I have ran ram tests, reinstalled gpu drivers etc.. not sure of a fix.

@@2010aishwary My problem was the motherboard but was difficult to diagnose, I had to take my CPU to a repair shop for them to try in another motherboard and it worked fine, so since I already tested all the other components the last one was the motherboard, I changed the motherboard and now it works fine

Hey yall thank you for this video, so with my pc I start it but I get no display the first start up. BUT when I turn it off then turn it on again it boots up like normal. Before what my Pc was doing before this was when I started it up it immediately turned off then a few seconds later like 5 sec it would boot up normally? my pc shuts down unexpectedly when playing high intensive games for an hour but doesnt reboot, I have to manually turn it back on, no other symptoms on the video. I have a rtx 2060 and ryzen 7 5800x, and my psu is rated 650 watts and 80+ gold. Is my psu at fault here or is it something else? Things I have already checked off the list as not being a problem is memory, temps, and drivers.

i’m still tryna confirm if my psu is failing, i’ve had several blackouts throughout the months due to the heat where i’m at, my pc is a power hog and a high end one too, i stress test my pc/ benchmarks etc to see if i can replicate my pc randomly turning off on the start screen, what i found out is my psu cable wasnt plugged all the way in but at the same time i’m doubting that’s as entirely it.

Never cheap out in quality on PSU. Losing your PC is one thing, losing your house is another...
Is there any chance that it could cause audio white noise?
More likely some type of audio interference via the motherboard audio outputs.
@@VelocityMicroPC Okay because I received three broken motherboards in a row from aces and on my 4th one now and it has developed a weird sound for the speakers that varies with the GPUS FPS
so my pc has no fan that is supposed to get the hot air out of the case and my psu is the only guy who grabs that hot air and if my case gets too hot and psu gets hot too it starts making some wierd sizzling like sounds and im thinking maybe because i have no fan that will grab the hot air out of the case?
fan is necessarily for the pc parts but thats now a good sign mate u need a better PSU for that one
