This gasket is a common replacement on n52 engine. You should replace this gasket if there is an oil leak or if you are replacing your oil pan.
I also replaced the engine mounts, as I had vibration at idle in a traffic jam.
In this video, you will see how to install oil pan. In the first part, you will see how to removal the oil pan.

clever idea with the zip ties! Also good to see you replacing the bolts as they are one use only and many people and so-called mechanics often skip that! Being aluminium, they are designed to twist on installation and so are ruined when undone. Nice video!

Mike, sorry to be so annoying with questions. I don’t see where fcp euro sells the subframe bolts for the e60. They are metal not aluminum correct. Is it absolutely necessary to replace them and the engine mount bolts ? I know Bmw recommends you do . When I did my control arms I reused the nuts an seemed hood up fine . Just wanted your opinion and where did you get yours if you replace them . Thank you sir I’m advance

Bentley manual for m54 engine says the oil pan bolts should be tightened in cross pattern. Begining from middle screws.

Hello everyone, is it possible to reach the bottom of the pistons from there? I'll replace the head gasket (blown) and also want to replace the piston rings (big oil consumption). So I want to know if I can pull them out from the head side.
