Not a perfect video? You're not giving yourself the credit you deserve. I found it very informative. It had ALL the info I was looking for as to what I was getting myself into. Thanks for posting it.
Thank You Great Video !! You might not be a licensed mechanic but you sure know common sense and safety minded....your explaining was excellent and thanks to you now I am ready to do mine...since the wanted to charge me $2000. For the replacement job... I wont give all that fun away !!
who the hell charges this much ? i got charged €150 for the replacement. So i paid in total €280 with new oils , filters , and gasked replaced. Just got my car yesterday from the garage heh
Ésto videos me gustan mucho Xque son de gran ayuda pará mantenerte bien y informado,y son una gran ayuda pará todos aquellos que la gusta mucho la me canica, gracias por sus videos.
Excellent video! Really helps with understanding the steps involved. Approximately, how long did it take to do the whole change of the oil pan gasket (from start to finish)?
It’s very tight quarters. You wouldn’t be able to get the new gasket in there without a lot of difficulty if at all and you run the risk when removing the old gasket pieces could fall into the pan.
yeah , i found a guy locally that worked for a bmw dealership in the past. he wants to charge me 500 for everything , including the oil and oil filter. two year warranty.

It took a wkend. 1 day to lower the subframe remove pan the 2nd to replace gasket and reinstall everything..
@@autogarageprojects Thank you :)
thanks for the insight.
did you disconnect only rear control arms from subframe ? wasn't necessary to remove also front control arms and sway bars ?
That’s right only the rears to let the subframe drop. Didn’t need to mess with the sway bar.
Do you have to drop the engilne or can you just lower the pan 3" seal and go 1/2 the labor if possible?

Did you use new oil pan bolts?
Yes.
Did you reuse the bolts? Are they aluminum? Can I reuse the oil pan bolts on 2008 528i e60 n52k?
I replaced the bolts with new ones. They always say to for BMW’s.
@@autogarageprojects you only changed the bolts to the pan right? Not the engine mounts and subframe?
Hello, my car is bmw 528i 2008 E60, I was wondering if you know the screw of the sump cover
These are aluminium screws and you have to replace them every time. Partnumber 11132210959. They are not very expensive ca. 28-35 Eur in europe.
Bmw are a pain to own even if it’s a diy . Just too much imo

How is a bmw any harder to work on than other cars?
