Thank you so much 😃❤️❤️❤️🙏 I think the reversable skirt is going to be really exciting to make! I almost don't feel like making it in brown and black because it would be SO AMAZING in some fun colours 😍

I would love to see a fun fabric like a cotton Jaquard or gingham on the flip side of the reversible skirt. Doubles the fun.

Might start a new trend! I guess you'd need lighter fabrics? I love the idea of 2 skirts in 1. @@Marlenasewing

    *clears throat and checks notes*
The overalls - I really like the second option (the 70s looking simplicity one) and think it would look fantastic for spring in a pretty minty green.
The skirt you should definitely make the changeable one.
The waistcoat - my vote is the yellow 40s Hollywood one with the v neck
Pencil skirt - combine the pattern and make the bows detachable (and you can use them on everything else like the straps of the overalls or the pedal pushers!)
The shirt - my vote is the Butterick A version and do some fun bishop sleeves.
The blazer - the brown vogue one is really cute! I would suggest a pretty pale pink or maybe a blue
I vote yes for the pedal pushers (especially the ones with the lace around the shins)
And *definitely* yes for the floral Butterick housecoat.
    I think that was everything...
For the record, I'm here because you popped up on my discovery feed and I love your humor and personality so much ❤❤

I'm all for 1940's overalls, but, the 70's pattern is really cute too and if you don't want to buy another pattern is a great option.
Skirts, voting for the haunting one, the changeable is more versatile, it's true, but look at that possessed face you can't say no 🤣
Waistcoat +1 for the V neck, I really like the shape and the small pockets and the girl of the illustration is living it so has to be better, right 🤭
Last one, butterick, magic to make no doubt for me. The blouses are really beautiful too, maybe, if you have the time you can make one too, a little bit extra for feeling a bit dramatic every now and then. And you never have too many blouses anyway 😉
The jacket definitely Vogue for me, love the collar and the overall shape.
    I hope it helps 💖
Happy to see Pinky back to his usual self 💗

I vote for the reversible circle skirt, add the pockets to one side of it. The yellow waistcoat, as the v neck is more flattering. No to the skirt with open darts, too reminiscent of pleated fronts from the 80's, they aren't flattering on most people. Flat fronts but you could add the bows. The 70's style overalls but as another commenter said lengthen the bib and shorten the straps. The 40's style ones seem more tailored at the waist, sort of more hourglass and the 70s seems to emphasize a long silhouette. The Vogue blazer is perfect! The pedal pushers and housecoat are a yes from me as well. I hope you have time to get to all these wonderful projects!

    • @Marlenasewing
      @Marlenasewing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment!😃❤️❤️ and especially for giving me feedback on those open darts. I never wore a skirt like this before, but I suspect it would visually double my tummy in size 😅🙈 I'm taking note of all the other recommendations, too. Thank you so much 🤗❤️❤️❤️

  • @frugalfemmecarole6517
    @frugalfemmecarole6517 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

I think you should make the following:
McCalls 6243 overalls-if you want more 40s, you can just make the front bib taller and shorten the straps
Circle skirt-do the wrap around reversible skirt - but use the pockets on the Butterick pattern, because those pockets are so cute!
    The 1940s vest
Butterick 8237 for the pencil skirt. Because it looks like you can make belts in different colors and that could be more versatile.
For the blazer…..I can’t decide. But maybe the Vogue and use the pocket and sleeve trimming from the Simplicity pattern. That way you get the best of both.

Reversible skirt make it twice for a 4 skirt option. The 40’s 0veralls and waist coat.
That being said love all of you choices.
I would do the 70’s overall’s another day in a soft floral for the summer. Love the vogue patter suit. So the entire suit in a tweed will work with you capsule wardrobe.
Imagine how cute you will be. You already are! Have fun.

Overalls - option 1! I feel like it would go with more of the other things you’re making!
Reversible skirt is 100% more skirt!
Yellow pattern waistcoat… because you like it more.
Option one for shirt or both - that’s not helpful I know.
And detachable bows on the matchy matchy skirt!
    The cream blazer because pockets!
Looking forward to whatever your making 😊

YESSS floral housecoat (living vicariously through you now). Overalls - second option, circle skirt - the reversible sounds very fun but consider if you want to faff with a skirt that might fly open, shirts - option number 2 - it has more collar variations and for a blazer and skirt suit - simplicity for me (cute pocketsssss)
And I am a fan of your editing - you are a funny lady

People hate on the 1970s, but there are so many cute clothes, especially the 1940s inspired clothes! I love the first overalls patterns. The shape is really unique. The changeable skirt is delicious. I love the Vogue suit, vintage Vogue patterns scream “Class” to me. The dramatic sleeves on the Butterick shirt pattern are ❤. I also desperately want to make housecoat patterns. I want to be very dramatic when I’m around my house and sweatpants don’t give “drama”. I glad Binky is doing well! He really loves that kick toy!

Part of sewing is planning - actually, a VERY important part is planning!
Overalls: 6243 although, which ever is easier to get in and out of is kind of important too.
Circle skirt: wrap skirt sounds like a great way to have a two for one.
    Waistcoat: Hollywood (Love this one!)
Pencil skirt: Butterick 8237 - I like all the pieces and it could easily make a capsule wardrobe. Add your own bows!!
Blazer: Simplicity. Save the other for a Brown Tweed for Fall
    Happy sewing!

First, I will join your channel as soon as you get memberships going.
Two, I LOVE the Vogue 8479 suit. I want to make one for myself.
Re: the other patterns, Overalls McCalls 6243. Circle Skirt Simplicity 1908 reversible. You could make one side the same fun fabric as a shirt. Waistcoat Hollywood. I'm with you on the neckline. Pencil Skirt Butterick 8237. I love it when the skirt and shirt are of the same fabric. As far as a housecoat goes, they were really popular in their day because they are so comfortable. My grandmother and an aunt wore them exclusively unless they were going out (always wearing hat and gloves).

    1) jumper trouser things- McCalls 6243(I personally LOVE the 40s.
    2) reversible skirt- Simplicity 1908, two looks in one!
    3) waistcoat- 1950s adorable McCall 8132 with the cute white v neck and collar option! I guess I really love collars lol
    4) shirt- Butterick 8237 looks very classy yet simple.
    5) pencil skirt- Simplicity 1690 looks like it has a bit more width to walk. I agree that you can add the bows!!
    6) blazer- Vogue 8479 with that amazing collar for the base, but then add the pocket details from the other! Those were super cute!
PS- Don’t feel bad for not having time to sew. These videos are nice too! You are including us and letting us be a part of the projects and that is so cool!

Pinky yay! So happy to hear Pinky is better! Here in the UK we've always had indoor-outdoor cats, so as long as Pinky is happy indoors and outside, that the most important part to me. Trying to make him an indoor-only cat would likely make him very unhappy.
1 - overalls - McCalls already looks very 1940s with the simple crossback and fold hems. Add Simplicity patch pocket on the front top and a 40s style patch pockets at the trousers
Circle Skirt - The big pockets one, maybe with trim around the pockets.. The wrap skirt is only one skirt; what if it's in the wash? I would make the wrap skirt in cream and white for summer though.
Waistcoat - 40s v-neck. Sew the one you like. I feel like it would look better with the bow tie neck tops.
Shirts - option 2 with the dramatic sleeves, especially if you could match the neck tie to the little bows on the pencil skirt. Cute!
Skirt - little bows, but also the matching shirt/skirt that looks like a dress, but in a pattern maybe?
Blazer - Simplicity. but with longer sleeves. I really like the pockets. I feel like the long sleeve jacket with a tweed skirt is more autumn/winter so very good for the colder weather,
Housecoat - the one with longer sleeves, because cold mornings.
Maybe stop adding all the other things that look cute from the patterns? Make a list of all the items you want to make and then let some of them go. (Hah, I just got the end of the video. Rocket lol)
First, fill gaps in your wardrobe for things you need right now. Maybe the housecoat and the gardening pants. One of the jacket/skirt pairs since they take longer. Then summer weight items ready for May. After that, things for next autumn/winter.

Overalls: option one looks more practical for actual gardening because the bottoms don't flare out as much
Skirt: I LOVE wrap skirts especially reversible ones because it's basically two skirts in one, and great to pack if you go on vacation!
    Waistcoat: the 1940s one
Pencil skirt: I like the one with the side opening
    Shirt: DRAMATIC SLEEVES!

  • @leif6103
    @leif6103 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Overalls - 70s has cleaner lines, but you might want to play with the proportions to get a narrower and more classic leg.
Circle skirt - hot take - don’t use a pattern. Do the math and make a custom pattern using the elastic waist technique from your trousers for maximum comfort. Make a separate matching belt to give you the waist definition that can be used with your other trousers and skirts.
Waistcoat - both! The white collared one will be great as a sleeveless blouse and a layering piece (that collar under a sweater!!) Then the yellow one as a true waist coat.
Pencil skirt - simplicity pattern! It has beautiful lines and proportions. Option #2 for shirt.. make your dramatic sleeve fantasy! Just do it in the same fabric as the skirt and you’ll have your versatile dress/separates set.
Can’t wait to see your progress!

I'm so hyped for all of this!
Overalls: McCalls 6643 really has the vibe, and might be easier to move around in than the first pattern with wider legs and tighter hips. This pattern is super dapper, and I think it would look nice with the bow blouses
Circle Skirt: ooof! Changeable would be awesome, especially if you are planning just the brown and black. But also, cool pockets! If you make another skirt, it would be awesome to see Butterick 6359 too
Waistcoat: Go for the neckline you love! I think the Hollywood Pattern is the move here
Pencil Skirt/Shirt: Combo Butterick Pattern! Adding the bows would be super cute, and you could still have dramatic sleeves on the blouse if you lengthened and widened the pattern a bit. You can always roll the sleeves up if they get in your way, but at least this way you can enjoy some ✨️Drama✨️ occasionally
I think that's it, sorry for the novel
Ed: OH no, I forgot the blazer!
I love the pocket details on the Simplicity pattern, the extra visual detail would be nice, especially with solid color outfits

Overalls - McCall's 6243. You've already got the pattern and if you want to make it 40's you can nudge things about in the mock-up phase.
Skirt Butteric 6359 - Love the pockets and the suggestion for using the stripes in the pattern that the envelope so lovingly suggested. Although your hormones do make a good point and the reversable one is very, very tempting. Augh...
Vest - McCall 8132. You can make the one you like and have all the adjustments worked out to make the version with the collar. That version, in linen, would be perfect in summer under a work blazer. Maybe do the 1940's v-neck as the transitional weather version for spring?
Pencil skirt - (Butteric) the first option with the blouse and the skirt. That blouse is classic. And you can add bows to the skirt.
You and I... we have about the same amount of patterns. I'm on a pattern moratorium on the ebay. I now officially have more patterns than I can reasonably make in a lifetime.

Yes to the blazer with the fur ruff in the illustration. You could make it into a Bar Jacket relatively easily.

Because it would be AMAAAZING to wear... Yeah, the Almighty Algorithm Gods (both the old and the AI) know me well. Sigh... One more...?
The fights for the plus-size vintage patterns reminds me of a friend of mine. She's on the "Long-Tall-Sally" shop height - apparently the fights for the shoes on sales day at the brick and mortar are... epic.

Overall: Option one - more versible, timeless Style
Skirt: reversibel skirt! One thing- many options in styling, you even can pin the split part a bit, so the underfabric shows up.
Wastecoat: the one with the rounded neckline, you can easyly change into a "rounded" v shape, which usually let it look a bit smoother and embrace your boops😋
Pencilskirt: 1 button down, 1 simple without any fancy stuff and one with the open darts.( don't forget at least one pocket 😂) Adding atachable/changeable bows and belts matching your shirts will connect the styles and you have many options in styling.
Blaser: vogue! a timeless smooth collarstyle and silhouette. One dark longsleave, and one light halfsleave. For fall and spring and light summer jacket.
    That's my opinion so far😊
I'm looking forward your way, because I never have the discipline, when it comes to repeated actions. But your theme for your capsule wardrobe is amaising.

Any of these patterns are super cute, I think they'll look great no matter what, but I vote for:
Overalls, Option one, the detail in the back is very cute and I think would be flattering
Circle Skirt Butterick is a simpler option
Waistcoat the 1940s one would have better shaping because of the princess seams
Shirt option 2, make the dramatic sleeves if you love them, it's ok to be extra! They can be casual if you're wearing them somewhere casual lol. I do love the matching set of option one. Agree you should make removable bows for the skirt!
Blazer I found the shape of the Vogue one has cleaner lines and would be easier to wear.
Def make the housecoats, so cute!

🤩Thank you for another fun video!😘 I wrote down my quick picks, 1. 1940's pattern 2. wrap skirt, (you can get 1 side dirty, then make a quick change to the other side😀😅) 3. Waist coat, the Hollywood pattern looked tough to make to make but, you can sew it with ease🥰 4. I have no idea! You will know what is best for you. I have been reading and tubering about 30's times and the fashion of the times and why they chose what they wore. I am going to skip over to the 40's as the fashion in the 40's were such good lines and all. Love and peace from an old lady in Washington state💋

McCall's overall, because that is easily the cutest overall I've ever seen.
Personally, I'd go with the collared weskit, but if you want collarless, 100% Hollywood.
Reversible skirt, but add some lovely big pockets
I think that your initial idea of making the Butterick 8237 set is correct instinct. The skirt with bows is basically otherwise identical, so yeah, make some little bow brooches and pin them on when feeling cute.
Make a bishop-sleeved shirt in white or black as a warbrobe base staple when you finish the capsule.
The Vogue blazer is a more versatile cut, but the Simplicity is more fun and also, i personally despise Vogue patterns so I have a hard time voting for it 😅😅

My votes are as follows: 70’s overalls, changeable skirt, 50’s waistcoat, and the first option of the pencil skirt. You can always add the bows to whichever view you choose but it’s nice to have the front options. I’m working on making a capsule wardrobe now too and it’s fun to see you dive in while I’m here so undecided and just making mockups right now. I don’t know if I commented last week but I love the blouses you made! Your choice of colors is making me open my eyes to different options. 1940s overalls, 1940s waistcoat, haunted lady circle skirt, the tartan pencil skirt with the matching blouse! Even if you don't make it in tartan. Although really there isn't that much difference between the skirts, apart from the button front or not. But even then, the silhouettes are so similar they pretty much have the same effect.

  • @slapperorange
    @slapperorange 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Honestly if you’re making two skirts anyway I’d make one reversible skirt and one pocket skirt. I love skirts but I never wear mine cause none of them have pockets. We need pockets like the butterick patterns for groceries trips.
The reason why I’m voting for the reversible skirt is because your wardrobe will feel so much bigger the moment you add an extra colour or f bottoms. You could eg do a pastel yellow or lilac skirt and it would look amazing with all your tops
Also voting for the 70s garden pants
    And the vogue blazer

  • @StopThatDana
    @StopThatDana 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Overalls: McCalls 6432 - I like that the back had more of a crossed suspenders look; I think that gives them a little more of a fashion garment look, and tones down a bit of the straight-up barn vibes overalls tend to give.
Circle skirt: Simplicity 1908 - Reversible is great, and you could still possibly put patch pockets on each side like the other pattern, as long as the weight of the extra fabric didn't start to make the two layers hang weird.
    Vest: the Hollywood Patterns/V neckline
Pencil skirt: Butterick 8237 - I like the double darts and nice clean lines of this skirt, and while it doesnt have cute little bows, you could easily add them or take the sash idea from the illustration and easily make up some very pretty ones with bows or flowers for the days you need a little extra in your outfit. 😉
Shirt: i think the cut of the neckline/lapels of the Butterick 8237 shirt *may* extend too far down and therefore might not work as well with the vest, if that is one of your desired combinations; it's a very cute shirt on its pwn, but perhaps is not a great layering shirt. Maybe, in that regard, the Butterick 7886 shirts are better suited, given their slightly shorter necklines/lapels. And, Marlena, if you want pouffy sleeves, make yourself the f*cking pouffy sleeves! You only live once, so wear pouffy sleeves if you want! I think they'd look cute with the vest (though maybe they'd be a bit weird if worn with the blazer?), and if you decide they're too much, don't choose pouffy sleeves for next year's capsule wardrobe! 😆🤗
Blazer: Vogue, i think the slightly simpler, more minimalist lines will blend better with all of the other pieces. Also, I am skeptical of pockets placed at the hips like that other pattern. 🤔 I feel like they might start to gape open after awhile, and lead to some weird bulges in the garment's silhouette. But I might be overthinking things . . .
I love your videos, Marlena! They are always SO fun to watch!

I would go for the 40s type overalls with the blouse. As odd as it is, it will work out better with contemporary clothes. Go with the V neck vest. Lastly go for the reversible skirt. That would even do well i Norway's summer. Rounded corner blazer has a gorgeous pocket detail and I would go with that.
I'm glad that Pinky is doing well. He is adorable.
Sabrina and Pepper say hello. I had to replay Pinky for them. They are the first cats I have ever seen not be interested in pattern tissue paper. They however love boxes.
I have three pairs of thrift store pants to alter. Wide legs aren't my thing. When I was a kid in the 70s, the bell bottoms would always catch in chain while riding my bike. One of my reasons for sewing is to get rid of childhood trauma of the ugliest clothes that my mother sewed. If she were still alive, her fashion style would be Asian grandma x 10,000! Not pretty.
My bf Jorgen loves going to Norway to ski during the summer. He grew up on the Sweden-Finland border where according to him, they make the most of the short summers.

Pinky is a super fan of boxes too! No better toy than a string and a simple box 😂
I never thought about it, but childhood trauma around clothes hits close to home. My mom didn't sew. She made me wear all my older brother's clothes 😅 It was ok.... but embarrassing. I can still feel the embarrassment when I think about it. My mom was "this is clothing, you are clothed. my duty is done" kind of a mom 😅
Jorgen is right! 😀 as soon as the sun comes out, we all get a serious case of FOMO and try frantically to make the best out of the warm weather 😅

I will admit to clothes going on down the line of my kids. Mostly it was coats, Sunday outfits, and baby to kindergarten things. Sometimes I would refashion something to make it more suited to now rather than wearing some hideously dated. I admit to digging out the coats, cardigans, Sunday outfits and snow suits for my grandson. They are a little old fashioned and stand out in that they are made from wool.

    1. the 70's overalls are my pick, but they are very comparable and both would look great on you!
    2. Circle Skirt - Pattern #1908. Can't go wrong with reversible! Versatile + no zippers!
    3. Waist Coat - Pattern #8132. It's a more 'basic' pattern which you can easily change the neckline of to be a 'V', plus it has a collar option for when you want to make another one for variety.
As far as pencil skirts and blazers/shirts I would read through each pattern instruction and see which is the best for fabric use/ which steps are least confusing/ measurements etc. The designs are so similar you will get a comparable outcome either way so consider what will make your life easiest.

Make all of them. 😂 It’s sooo hard. I love all the pretty vintage things. I too have bins of patterns I purchased with the best intentions but are still sitting there staring me down in judgement. I say go for it on the 70’s jumpsuits because I think they’re just slightly more wearable with the current fashion trends. I prefer the one with the back panel because it’s a bit less casual. I like the skirt with the tabs. I love the bows but your waistcoat and jacket may not layer over them properly making that skirt a little less interchangeable. I think the second jacket is my favorite but it’s a tough call. The 1950’s waistcoat is my favorite but I think since you prefer the 1940’s neckline you should do that one. All the circle skirts are cute. I think my favorite is the one with pockets. I’m not sure if I’d like the extra thickness and body of the interchangeable one or the lack of pockets.

First off all: I'm really excited for the capsule wardrobe and your channel in general! Sooo these are my picks:
    Overalls: Simplicity 7006
    Circle Skirt: Butterick 6359
    Waist coat: McCalls 8132
Pencil Skirt: Simplicity 1690 (or Vogue 8479) - at least for me, open darts or pleats at the lower belly always drag too much attention to that area for my liking 🙈 but you do you!
Shirt: Butterick 7886 (please, treat yourself and us with huge bishop sleeves 😅)
    Blazer: Vogue 8479

I'm following a few creators on Patreon, and everyone is a little different. Some make exclusive videos, Rachel has a group chat that is incredibly supportive, others share patterns/templates for different projects. One person I follow Livestreams sew n chats, which is always a fun time. (Ha, I'm such an introvert!) I think there are polling options, and survey thingies, too?
I really enjoy all your content, and getting a peek into what life is like elsewhere on the planet is a flipping delight. (Frozen eyelashes? Amazeballs.) @@Marlenasewing

Overalls: The first 40s style, full bib (although I love the suspender look)
Skirt: Wrap skirt for sure!!! Love the versatility of reversibility.
Waistcoat: with the triangle neckline. As much as I love the scoop neck, the triangle neck is more classic/traditional to me.
Pencil skirt: Go with option number one, but absolutely poach those bell sleeves from the second pattern. I'm a sucker for a dramatic sleeve. All around those skirts are too long for my liking, I prefer a pencil skirt that hits right at the knee, but in the end this is all about what you feel happy in!
Blazer: Vogue pattern, but I may be affected by the idea of a fur collar (faux, of course)
I love this series of yours and I really look forward to seeing you make the pieces.
Glad to see Pinky is feeling better. Wild cat.

Overalls: McCall's 6243, because I think the cut is better.
Circle skirt: Simplicity 1908, because how can you resist a skirt you can change with your mood? However, the Butterick is a good capsule wardrobe starter, as you say.
Waistcoat: Hollywood 896, because of the cut again.
Pencil skirt: Butterick 8237, because you're right about it being a good capsule wardrobe pattern.
Blazer: Vogue 8479, because of the cut again (again).
Or, you know, make all of them . . .😁💃

Since my initial comment disappeared, here we go again:
Yes to the shirt pants combo you showed in the end, it looks comfy and like something I could live in even though I'm normaly not into vintage fashion for myself.
Also yes to a daygown/housecoat in a cool pattern. You can throw it on for filmin feeling comfy and fancy at the same time (not that your pjs don't do that job but then you've got more options).
Regarding the blazers, the simplicity one looks more fancy/business because of the accented hem, the lines in the shoulder area and I really like the triangle cut out at the color. The vogue one is more "casual" without that lines and I like the simplicity it has on the lower part because of the missing pockets, since the pockets on the other one look a little tooo large which also may be because of the unrealistic tiny waist of the model on the pattern 😂 So you have to think about if you want to go more casual or chic. I would take the vogue one and add the triangle cut outs on the color :)
    Edit for typo

    • @thinkingbout
      @thinkingbout 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Overalls definetly number two, it just looks so good with the strap being closer connected to the rest of the overall than the first. It looks more causual while the first and thrid one look more business related.

    • @thinkingbout
      @thinkingbout 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

The changable skirt looks like so much fun! I just can't really imagine how it should hold on two little bows, and I like the pockets on the other skirt :) So the two in one skirt first and the other one sometime in the future ❤

    • @thinkingbout
      @thinkingbout 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

For waistcoats I like the one from the 50s better since it looks more causual. I like round neck more than v-neck but for my taste the one on that pattern is a little too deep cut especially compared to the other two, maybe that's whats bothering you, too? Or that the strap isn't as wide as in the 40s pattern? I think that's what makes it more casual looking than the 40s but you do you :) - Also a possibility to mix the patterns a little.

    • @thinkingbout
      @thinkingbout 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Regarding the pencil skirts Shirts, I really like the white one with the ruffle detail, it also looks like it has puff sleeves and because the neck goes a little deeper it looks more causual. But the other blouse is also really beautiful! Maybe consider what kind of blouses and necklines you're enjoying to wear and go from there on (also I'm all in for a dramatic sleeve - we only live once)
The skirts themselve all look really similar to me, aside from the ones with the slits. I liked your idea to take a pattern you like and add detachable bows, also I liked the skirt with the side slit :)

    Pattern choice selection proposal
Simplicity 7006 Overalls. Alter leg to be less flared and more straight. Plus loose front chest pocket.
Butterick 6359 Circle skirt with big pockets
McCall 's 8132 Waistcoat with curved neckline
Haunted Lady pattern bolero if it comes with pattern
    Butterick 7886 shirt pattern.
    Simplicity 1690 Pencil Skirt.
Simplicity Blazer as has more Dior sillohette but loose the cuff and make full length sleeve like the sleeve in the Vogue Blazer.

I completely understand your decision problems, all of the patterns are super cute!❤ Okay but here goes my unprofessional unpaid advisor opinion:
    40's ogrodniczki 🏡
Reversible skirt of course, but I would add the pockets, love them too
The yellow waistcoat with v-shaped neckline
For pencil skirt I prefer the Butterick pattern, but I think the full Vogue suit is a great option, it is really beautiful.
And definitely go for the fluffy sleeves and the housecoat!
    Love the series ❤

In all honesty this is what I would choose for basics in the capsule wardrobe. Your results may vary. 😂 Overalls - McCalls 6243 with shirt. Circle Skirt - Simplicity 1908 for reversibility. Waistcoat - Hollywood Pattern 896 ( you were very drawn to it.) Shirt - see McCalls 6243 😁 Pencil skirt - Simplicity 1690 view 2 or 3 because even a basic skirt needs a little touch of something (tabs). Blazer - Simplicity because it has POCKETS. I'm a fan of good pockets.
