I like both skirts. I like the black/brown best. Don't hate me for saying this... To fix the black brown skirt, you need to pick out the stitching at the bottom, then let it hang on a skirt hanger for two days. Then you can trim away whichever is longest and resew. Problem fixed. Poor Winnie not being allowed to help with the pattern. I'm surprised that Pinky didn't attack the pattern. Not bad for his first day on the job. Pepper hissed and growled at Winnie. Sabrina jumped up on the ironing board and pointed at my half finished jeans with her paw while lecturing me. Bribes of catnip treats for Pepper and beef treats for Sabrina calmed them down. Those two are the only cats I've that don't like pattern tissue.
Awww! Not Sabrina keeping you on track with her paw pointing!!😍😍😍 in my imagination, they are two cutest lol kitties ever 😍 you're probably right about the skirt!!❤️
@@Marlenasewing in my totally unbiased opinion they are the cutest. So is Pinky. Never a dull moment in my house. It's going to be years and years but my sons and I were thinking of a Norwegian forest cat or a black long haired munchkin.
That pattern is a keeper - simple, elegant, wardrobe stretching... what more could a body ask for. I know you have your preferences, but both skirts are love. Well done, you. Kisses to both your boys. Happy to see that they're getting along. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
You can bump up the weight and structure of a light, drapey fabric by adding interfacing. Interfacing a whole circle skirt would be a lot of interfacing, but it's worth experimenting if you have a fabric you love that needs more structure for a project.
100% agree! 😃 in this case, interfacing would also help the lighter fabric from changing colour due to the black backing, too! Sadly, I didn't have enough interfacing at home😭
Winnie was a masterful office assistant. Kisses to him! The skirt was super cute! I tend towards pencil skirts and am only recently venturing out to skirts with more fullness and they're really flattering. I would love to see this one in a crepe material because I think that would give it the drape and the matte finish you're looking for. That said, I hear you on finding matching fabrics. We only have Joann around us and it's so depressing. it's one of the few things I miss about living in Portland, OR. I had both Fabric Depot and Mill End Store to get lost in. They were amazing. Hopefully I can find something like that here in the Northeastern US.
I love little Winnie, he is sooo cute! Great that Pinkie is being a supportive and playful big brother. I knew he would warm up to Winnie. I am enjoying your series "Making a interchangeable wardrobe. ❤❤❤❤💖💖💖💖🤗🤗😘😘 Lots of love hugs and kisses for Pinkie and Winnie.
OHMYGOODNESS!!! That little squeak toy doglet has to be the cutest thing on the planet currently. I hope, no, I DEMAND he be in all future videos!!! ❤❤❤ Your skirts are lovely too!
And now I see I haven't commented on this one yet- which is a shame, since you actually made me frantically search for 60s and 70s wrap skirt patterns for a week now, hahaha (I'm more the mini skirt type). It looks so so good on you! And I can get that it might feel a bit to "glam" to wear it everyday, but they are so pretty and I hope you get a ton of wear out of them!
The only thing I have to say about this is there are no pockets. I am always torn between the drappy-ness of my fabric because I live on a farm and when I go out I want fluffy skirts but when I'm at home I them with less fluff and you would think no problem just make them both ways but all my "pretty " clothes end up in the barn once they are stained or old and I want a new one or because I need clothes for the barn. I have found putting a petti coat under them helps
Sending ALL the kisses to both Winnie and Pinky! So glad they're starting to get along! 🐶😺 The skirts both look fabulous, even if one didn't turn out as planned. 😅
😂😂😂😂 the squiking I thought was a chewing toys that was doing the noice. I recomend kompost sides. Easy to put together and just fold up when not use and dog gas little more space but still kept on safe distans from things like pattern pieces
The black and green skirt looks so good! Looks so simple but elegant ❤ Winnie is such a small sleepy boy, so cute! I hope you find a way to make the black and brown skirt work xx
I NEED you to figure out a carrier pouch apron type thing to carry Winnie that i can make for my cat who has attachment issues. Also, dat doggie is going to kill somebody (me!) with the cuteness.
Recent subscriber here. I love your channel! I am particularly invested in following what you do in the basic capsule wardrobe series. As an absolute beginner in sewing clothes, I need to remind myself that I have to stick to simple and quick projects to start! I have been wearing a grand total of 3 outfits in rotation for the past 3 months so I would like to try and make myself a spring capsule wardrobe. I love your adorable furry supervisors and all your extra shenanigans as well.
Awww!!!! Thank you so much for your comment!❤️😍 Welcome to the Sewing Gang!!! Btw, I sew for a few good years now and still end up wearing "uniforms" for months on end 😅
Winnie is so cute! You need one of those baby wrap carriers! I have one for my 4lb chihuahua Luna. It's been a life saver for carrying her around and still being able to use both hands.
Those skirts are gorgeous and now I want to make one. Also if Winnie stays clingy like that I would suggest buying a pet carrier that's like a baby carrier you wear. I think they're mostly for cats, but I had a friend that bought one for her small dog and the dog absolutely loved it. You'd be able to cuddle and work at the same time.
Ohhhh, you were a close second!😀 (by 18 seconds😅) Thank you so much for your comment! I hope you will make a skirt like this for yourself! I am shocked by how easy the sewing process was 😍
Maybe I was distracted by the cuteness but did you show how the fastening works? Curious how you flip it the other way and still have a hidden fastening 😊

I love how both skirts turned out, they're so beautiful and versatile! And how can you can you get anything done with that adorable fluffy baby?? I would just pet him all day... LOL at the Darth Vader music hehe! I brought the kitty in my house yesterday and poor thing the others are intimidating him and I have to play the referee... Also he peed on my bed so lots of laundry today. But we love our fluffballs no matter what! Kisses to all of you!!! 💕💕
Awww! Arietta, I'll keep my fingers crossed for your new kitty to settle in and find his place in the new family 😃❤️ I hope to see him in a video soon!❤️❤️❤️
When I saw you holding winnie with one hand and ironing with the other, I thought that you needed a dog carrier for him like those for babys, so that you can cuddle with him but have your arms free for ironing🐶 Also crazy how easy it is to make such a skirt, I would have guessed that it would be much more complicated! Are you planning on making one with a patterned fabric on one of the sides? That would make them less basic than one toned fabric but also even more cute ❤
I love this idea and will probably borrow it! I personally love the drape of the black/brown but if you want to fix it then you can interface the skirt in a heavier weight fabric (maybe the black satin?) As for the videos on the phone. Check what format it's importing in. It could be the wrong one for your PC. I remember I used to have this issue between my iPhone and windows computer.
I actually love the brown skirt, but I would have made it brown/green because I am a basic summer bitch. What is the closure for this skirt? I... don't use pins. I have cats. They like to eat pins.I like danger, I guess. I think you need a baby sling for Winnie (Vinnie?) it would free your hands while he naps.
