Another MASTER CLASS performance by the PHENOMENAL So Hyang. What makes this performance stand out, So Hyang is not well here. Prior to this performance, she had just been released from the hospital, still recovering from one of numerous bouts with pneumonia. I almost couldn't record that performance at the time Sohyang got pneumonia and the doctor stopped her activities I can feel it's quite different from the previous Sohyang songs Sohyang has not been active for 2 years After that, she is a strong woman who conquered cancer at the age of 19.
Sohyang herself is responsible for the arrangement of all the songs she sings. Sometimes there are many changes to the original & sometimes very little but she only ever changes things if it enhances the original, she never just changes it because she can. She was actually sick in this performance, believe it or not, & had been told by the doctor not to perform as she wasn’t recovered from her latest bout of pneumonia, but typical of Sohyang, she didn’t want to disappoint the audience so she went ahead & sang. Anyone like myself who is a fan of Sohyang may be of the opinion that although this is still a fantastic performance, it is not her best. I just find that a little bit of Sohyang magic is missing,she sounds tired & she certainly looks tired too. I find it interesting that you thought she had a big personality because she is actually quite shy. Also, that big voice you hear comes from such a petite lady. One major thing to note about this performance is that she has full blown pneumonia. She was told by a Dr the day of the performance, not to speak. She pushed ahead with weak lungs and a bad throat and was still able to do this. Just wait until you hear her healthy and singing up into the 6th octave with ease. She is a master vocalist.
This is amazing when you realise she was suffering pneumonia at the time and was told not to perform. She does her own arrangements too which highlights her voice. I highly suggest reacting to her performance of Arirang Alone which is based on a Korean folktale. It is so incredible and when you read the lyrics, it will give you goosebumps.

Fun fact, she had pneumonia when she sang this song. At the time, her pneumonia was quite serious, so doctors advised her to cancel this show. But she sang this song on stage with pneumonia that made her even breathing painful. After this stage she was cured of her pneumonia. However, for about two years she relapsed and treated her pneumonia again and again. At the time, she even thought that she should stop singing. Fortunately, now she is still singing beautiful songs without any after-effects. And she is a very devout Christian and gospel singer. When she was 20, she heard the word of God while she was praying, 'If you don't get married, there's nothing good for you'. So she married the man she was dating at the time. And after she got married, she got health checkup just in case. And surprisingly, cancer cells were found in her womb. The cancer cells was detected early and she was able to save her life through surgery, but she was unable to conceive naturally.
After she finished her performance she couldn't perfect performance because she was really really sick. Because she has pneumonia. Please more reaction So Hyang. My favorite her performance is Lean on me.
Two things.... firstly, she does all of her own arrangements for the songs she performs. And secondly, she had pneumonia at the time and her doctor had told her not to perform that day.

I really must also compliment the choir, orchestra and audio/video production people So Hyang works with. They are all top notch from what I can see and hear and it is important to note that, as these are _essential_ parts of any great music production. The Korean people are easily as talented as anyone else.

Prior to this performance, she had just been released from the hospital, still recovering from one of numerous bouts with pneumonia. Her doctors advised her to not talk, definitely not sing, and to just rest. This AMAZING performance is further proof that So Hyang's vocal technique is

I almost couldn't record that performance at the time Sohyang got pneumonia and the doctor stopped her activities I can feel it's quite different from the previous Sohyang songs Sohyang has not been active for 2 years After that, she is a strong woman who conquered cancer at the age of 19.

Sohyang herself is responsible for the arrangement of all the songs she sings. Sometimes there are many changes to the original & sometimes very little but she only ever changes things if it enhances the original, she never just changes it because she can.
She was actually sick in this performance, believe it or not, & had been told by the doctor not to perform as she wasn’t recovered from her latest bout of pneumonia, but typical of Sohyang, she didn’t want to disappoint the audience so she went ahead & sang. Anyone like myself who is a fan of Sohyang may be of the opinion that although this is still a fantastic performance, it is not her best. I just find that a little bit of Sohyang magic is missing,she sounds tired & she certainly looks tired too.
I find it interesting that you thought she had a big personality because she is actually quite shy. Also, that big voice you hear comes from such a petite lady.
I am sure you’re gonna be inundated with suggestions for what to listen to next, everybody has their own opinion of what her best performances are but to be honest you can watch them all & the same impeccable standard will be there. My favourite is my very 1st encounter with Sohyang, as it was for many other viewers, and that is her performance of ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ from the show ‘immortal songs 2’, WOW!!!! Please don’t ever be put off watching a performance because the song is in Korean because somehow, besides been immaculate technically, she has the ability to emote like nobody else & make you ‘feel’ even when you have no idea what she’s singing about & there are no English subtitles. She regularly has me in tears, singing in both English & Korean, so it may be an idea if you have kleenex nearby in case she gets to you. This wonderful lady gets straight thru to your heart/soul & makes you feel like you’re the only person there & is singing just to you.
This lady is as beautiful on the inside as her voice is on the outside. Welcome to the amazing world of Sohyang, ‘queen’ to Dimash’s ‘king’ in the world of vocals.

You are going to find out that you will talk about what's behind her vocals as much as her technique. She is largely self-taught, both in singing and composing and arranging. She has had to overcome a lot to get to this point in her journey. You will find a beautiful soul in this angel. I don't know technique but I do know talent and this lady has IT in copious proportions. Oh, and all that business about her being from another planet...well that's nuts. Everyone knows she has come straight from God's lap where she was his special being.

One major thing to note about this performance is that she has full blown pneumonia. She was told by a Dr the day of the performance, not to speak. She pushed ahead with weak lungs and a bad throat and was still able to do this. Just wait until you hear her healthy and singing up into the 6th octave with ease. She is a master vocalist.

This is amazing when you realise she was suffering pneumonia at the time and was told not to perform. She does her own arrangements too which highlights her voice. I highly suggest reacting to her performance of Arirang Alone which is based on a Korean folktale. It is so incredible and when you read the lyrics, it will give you goosebumps.
I don 't know what it is about her but I can't listen to this without tearing up. I've heard it over a hundred times, and every single time.

Fun fact, she had pneumonia when she sang this song. At the time, her pneumonia was quite serious, so doctors advised her to cancel this show. But she sang this song on stage with pneumonia that made her even breathing painful.
After this stage she was cured of her pneumonia. However, for about two years she relapsed and treated her pneumonia again and again. At the time, she even thought that she should stop singing. Fortunately, now she is still singing beautiful songs without any after-effects.
And she is a very devout Christian and gospel singer. When she was 20, she heard the word of God while she was praying, 'If you don't get married, there's nothing good for you'. So she married the man she was dating at the time.
And after she got married, she got health checkup just in case. And surprisingly, cancer cells were found in her womb. The cancer cells was detected early and she was able to save her life through surgery, but she was unable to conceive naturally.
