The Blacklight/UV light tricks works on most cards. There's some older 4 series cert numbers that don't have the blacklight PSA logos on the front, but they're on the back.
I have mentioned fake slabs/cards to several poketubers and they told me they've never heard of such a thing. I had mentioned it to them so they can make a video addressing this issue that many may be unaware of.

After looking online, i have the lighthouse label psa case back in 2017. the psa UV holo on the front does not exist yet and replaced by a light house effect with NASDAQ:CLCT. The 6 UV psa logos still exist on the back.

Hey i just recently purchased a psa slab that is also from this era (the psa lookup number starts with 42xxxxxx). I couldn't find the UV holo and it also shows NASDAQ:CLCT on the PSA holo stickers on front and back. Do you guys know why the UV holo on the front top didn't exist for 2017? Couldn't find any PSA articles on it but glad I found this comment almost thought I bought a really accurate fake.

What happens if you get conned and end up with a fake from eBay Given that you need to physically have the card slab these days to actually check?

Absolutely. You would contact eBay about being sold fake goods
Or you can just look at the psa logo on the label and see if it’s silver and sparkles. The fakes don’t and is just grey ink.
I have one of the newer psa cases and everything checks out from part 1 (video) on my card but the front side of the case does not have the psa uv reflect. The back side does have the 6 psa label uv reflection tho.
Hmm. Newer ones should have it unless they have made an even newer one

CGC does not, they have a shiny/holo box around the grade and the holo sticker on the back label, not sure about BGS
And also the CGC label at the top has a weird holo-ish coating that is only really noticeable in direct sunlight
Fakes now have the blacklight line in them.. the inkline and the dent below the slab (if you feel) also the printed "psa" and correct labels to scan and see if the card is authenthic. What do we do now in 2024??
Genuine question, why is the front left barcode against the red outline on the Gyarados?? Is that just a slight printing error from PSA. I’ve seen this now on a few others slabs for sale and it had me questioning their authenticity. Thanks.

This does not work with older slabs, I think before 2015 they didn't have that security, only a holo PSA text on the back of the label
That would be Intersting to get an older slab, but there are ALOT more newer ones graded since 2015 as well.
I also have a older PSA and only the back has the text with the uv light .
For older slabs they have psa on the bottom of the lab

@@cesarx1000 nah its not fake, i’m pretty sure that’s an earlier iteration of the UV symbols on the label. I have a psa 9 snorlax that also does the same thing.
My fear is the case and everything is real but the card is fake. You’d never know if it’s a 1:1 copy. Sad world we live in. At least with comics this doesn’t really happen.
Only question I have is why don't eBay sellers just photo with uv?

uv is a good tell but PSA flips only started doing that around 2020 so if u buy a card that doesnt have that uv and the card says like 2020 Pokemon Pikachu, be skeptical
Can the uv stuff be faked?
So I have some tickets I submitted to PSA years ago. It has the same label, no not the super old one. The black light doesn’t have the light strip at the top and I submitted 3 tickets to PSA myself. Obviously there not fake but I would assume this is before they did the UV thing. The back of the case the the PSA logos does light up.
I guess the point of this comment is just to share that some of the first new label PSA cases don’t all have the light up strip on the top but they do all have it on the back.

@@DrApplesauceTwo i got a few slabs that have the little psa symbols around the larger the foil psa symbols show up when using a uv light but not at the front along the top ? Cheers mate
@@harrymonk6 not every label has the UV tech so theres a good chance you should be fine

You really,don't need a special flash light to spot a fake using your cell phone's flash light you can spot all the small psa logos in the back of the card not to mention if you focus the light on the side with the grading and slowly pull the ligh away it reveals an embedded PSA logo.

To be fair re top strip, that’s a technology subsequent to a lot of slabs after ~43xxxxx

The slab is real but how we know the Card inside is real
in regards to people complaining about video length, they’re not wrong. i watched a youtube short before this that was about 20 seconds long and it provided the same information. this is a 6 minute video and you spent the first 2 and a half on the intro. 🤷♂️
