Collectors should not be in debt, collecting is using your collection to help grow your collection. One thing that I learned from you is to have your collection fund itself. But buying a lot to get the cards you want and then sell of the others is how you do it! Great video brother.

The challenge for investing in pokemon cards for me, is the emotional attachment to the product - as that adds a layer of 'value' that I wouldn't experience if I was investing in stock options for instance - so for me it will always be an enjoyable hobby (for now)!
Lots are the best way I have found also to build my collection while paying for it at the same time. Agree 100% love the view that in the end everyone is happy not enough of that in the hobby as of late.

I have a rule for myself. I only buy/grade cards with art I actually love. If something spikes in value and I happen to have it, great. But personally I don't want to get in the habit of picking up cards just for investment. I love this hobby and the art, I don't want to turn it into a hustle for me

Bought a psa10 lugia v for 300 recently and it's my favorite card in my collection as lugias my favorite pokemon. I want lugia ex golden sky but 1.5k+ right now is too much for me. One day!
My method was to buy only what I love for a reasonable price lol.
The Lugia V alt looks a miscut to me, it’s definitely left and bottom heavy but you may want to measure it against another regular card because the card almost looks wider to me and it could be the bottom left corner piece from the whole uncut sheet and it ended up being slightly bigger. Again, you gotta verify it closely as I don’t trust naked eye by a glance. 😅
Good pickups and there’s definitely still upside potentials in some of these cards! 👍 well done.

To me, its like investing in art. I dont buy cards that are ugly but expensive. Lorcana is also cool. But they have to be $50-$100+. Im not nickel and diming here. Lol

But how do you buy it at 70% value? Do you find one seller and decide to buy more cards from them at a discount?
if it's ebay as an example and they have photos of the whole lot, you price out each item. often sellers sell a "lot" or collection for cheaper than the full value because it's faster to sell and get your cash. for buyers its extra work but can be worthwhile.
