    Being old enough to remember a propper closed season on all waters all this tackle prep was done during that 3 month period....it's quite nostalgic really. We have all become used to going fishing whenever we chose, now we can't due to a deadly virus, I hope we all appreciate our bank time, fellow anglers and everything that goes with our sport that much more when we are let out once more. Keep these great uploads coming as the cabin fever raises, it's a valuable service to the angling community....cheers.

    Hi Rob, a great bit of insight, yes I do carry loads of patterns mainly because our club fish venues I've never fished before, but I nearly always use the same floats, a thin bodied float for shallow or F1's or a rounder body if it's deeper or towing, are those MW floats you have shorted up?

  • @stevedavies75
    @stevedavies75 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank for keeping me sane Rob! What make are those margin floats please? Thank you for sharing your knowledge too. Very much appreciated. Keep the vids coming.... Love 'em.

    • @RobWootton

      They’re a Middy MW pattern ... I’m sure they’re called margin/farbank or something similar

    As a pleasure angler I was facinated with the loading of the rig onto the winder. This is oviously without a hook. So a question. After connecting your hook of choice what happens to the hook after the match is concluded. Do you just discard it and next match start all over again?

    • @RobWootton
      @RobWootton  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s right John, I change my hook often as it either gets blunt, hooklength frays or I need a tactical change. Hooklengths are stored separately

    As usual Great advise and well explained. Buoyancy bristle width and length of the stem and I know you covered the weights years ago in a previous video so we all have no excuses now 😢 what’s your take on pellet waggler designs? Crystal wagglers or big splashers 👍

    Do you bother with carbon stems on the dustys Rob or find the titanium wire light enough through the water?

    • @RobWootton
      @RobWootton  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Titanium’s on my dustys - the only carbon stemmed floats I use are for very shallow work with small baits

    Hi Rob. My mates asked me to ask you what waggler rod is best Middy reactor 11 ft or Freespirit CTX 11ft.
    Kind regards Chris.

    • @RobWootton
      @RobWootton  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve not picked up the ctx to be fair - I know they’re very good though and use the ctx feeder rods - I use the reactacore at the minute and it’s fine.

    Ive noticed when ive made rigs up at home and shotted them in my tube.. I use a 3ft length of 4in soil pipe wit a stop end glued on it.. That when i get the rig in a fishery it's different ie too much or not enough is this anything to do with water pressure any clue..?

    • @RobWootton
      @RobWootton  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah water pressure and also the density differences - your water will not be as dense as a summer , muddy commercial I’m guessing.

    Great video Rob as always how often do you use the swinging rig! And also when fishing shallow do you think painting your top kits either white or grey make a difference👍

    • @RobWootton
      @RobWootton  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers Paul. I use the swinging rig quite a bit and even if you can reach an island it’s sometimes worth a couple of extra fish to swing a rig every so often. I use white topkits a lot ... thinking is that they can’t hurt
