  • In this video, I give my own personal review on the 2014 Ducati Monster 796 Motorcycle. I highly enjoyed riding this bike for the short time I was able to be on it, and a huge thanks to my friend Colin for allowing me to do the honors of reviewing the bike. Very nice bike, very beautiful bike, very smooth ride.
    This was my first "Bike Review" video and I highly enjoyed creating it. Riding a different bike every now and again reminds me of why I love my bike so much when I get bike on it. I will most defiantly be making more Bike & Part Review's in the future. (With better quality, hopefully)

    I have this bike. It’s my first bike ever rode. I’m 43 😂. I have stock brake and clutch handle. You don’t need to grab the front brake. It’s pretty extreme. It’s an awesome first bike. I’ve learned a lot. It makes you learn. Especially clutch control and braking.

      I’m 41 and this will be my first...is there a way to change the dash so that the speed is easier and larger to read? Thanks!

    Looking at this as a first bike, seems to be looking positive so far, appreciate the vid!

      I would recommend this as a first bike. Doesn't have the top end speed as a 1000cc but also isn't as slow as a 250cc. I highly enjoyed my butt time on this Ducati.

      Easily a 1st bike, I have this exact bike. Only 90hp compared to 600cc Japanese I4s with 120, it's not a bike that can easily get away from you. Much more relaxed riding position than hypersports. Looks and sound amazing, with single-sided swingarm and v-twin Termi sound - awesome. Keep in mind, this is a Ducati, so maintenance is expensive unless you do it yourself. I do basics: chain tension, tire pressure, oil change, air filter, swap battery, brake bleeds, pads, clutch plates, etc. Get a bike stand - TRex racing makes a great one.

      Appreciate it. I actually have alot of videos in the works, just having the time to work on em is what's slowing me down. But I have some more bikes I'm doing reviews on, like a 2018 Busa, and a review on the Icon Airflite will be coming out soon along with how I have my GoPro set up. So yeah, I got bunch of videos currently in production, just need time from work and baby duties to get to em. LoL

      Just bought the icon air flight helmet. Pretty bad ass. Be prepared to buy spare cheek pads. They seem to separate from the plastic pieces that tuck inside the helmet. Not a big issue but be prepared to buy a spare set

    The engine sound/feel should tell when to shift up/down. I don't understand why anyone would want a gear and shift indicator if they know what they are doing!

      last year i begin to ride with monster 600cc, and it was very good for begining. i know, it is old and not so safe, and i did not succed to „obey” it, after full 7 month. in the last ride, „litle” monster put me on whelee without warning.
      now i am riding 796 abs , it look like hi level in comparasion with 600 cc but..... for a very beginer, it is brutal, big torque on low rpm, 0-100 in 4 sec, i did not recomend it for the very first season.

    Does anyone know why Ducati monster 696 just can go up to 110 mph??
    When the 600's Japanese bikes
    Can go up to 130 mph!?
    I got me this monster Ducati 796 because I thought they were very fast because of the 796 CC's
    But the reality is way different.
    Very disappointed 😞☹️😞

    • @Dave-qq4lh
      @Dave-qq4lh 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Don’t be deceived by displacement. The 600s are making 120hp+ while the Ducati in the video is making around 80. Displacement isn’t everything, make sure to do your research before buying.

  • @tomknight217

    I think you said “R6” 42 times. Probably the least comparable bike ever for monster. Useless video

    • @FrankTastic
      @FrankTastic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      And yet you still watched it. Define "useless", because this video is most def not useless. It's comparing the monster to a sport bike, which alot of ppl would want to know the difference between a monster than a sport bike, because alot of ppl want a sport bike but not everyone wants it as a first bike. I believe this video is a good video, and your comment is invalid.

    • @tomknight217
      @tomknight217 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      FrankTastic. Of course I watched it?! How would I know how many times R6 would be mentioned? And continued to watch to see if any other comparable bikes would mentioned.
      Perhaps I should invest in a crystal ball. My bad

    • @FrankTastic
      @FrankTastic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@tomknight217 Maybe you should because obviously it seems like you expect someone who only has experience on a sport bike, to know what other bikes feel like to be able to compare to the monster. Why don't you just go and test ride one your self, or do you even know how to ride? Don't bring your useless and negative comments to my video when I was only trying to ride and review a bike that I never rode before, and compare it to the bike I ride everyday. But dam, if this video did not answer any of your questions about the bike, then go watch a different one. No need to be a complete ass on this video, unless that's all you are.
