Everyone I ever talk to on the water here in Oklahoma know exactly who you are. I've been out and heard people bring up watching a video of yours and learned how to do something. It's pretty great.

Looks like the Jim Woodruff Dam in Chattahoochee, Florida. I grew up a mile from that river and fished it frequently. 30 to 40 lb blue cats are regular. Great vid.

I have had very good success using gar for bait in Oklahoma. Use tin snips to cut thr shell and it’s got a hell of a back strap in it. It’s got more oil then skipjack. Give it a try sometime !

I use to stripper fish on lake Maumelle in Little Rock ,Arkansas wit my down rigger , it was awesome ! Being from Louisiana , I was use to saltwater and freshwater fishing and never trolled with a downrigger!

You should see some of the monsters in my Lake here in California. Clearlake and Lake Mendocino have some straight beasts. Little thing I picked up from the Ol Timers is using a jumbo prawn and down sizing hook size but add thickness! Works every time. Keep the videos coming man! Me and the wife are watching it on screen mirroring as I write and watch this on TV. Haha you had just forgot you threw a shad out

@@RiverCertified I grew up with John Pearl. He’s a pro bass fisherman that grew up in the same town with me. Lol he has his own rod made by Douglas. Lots of opportunity here. We actually have about 8 lakes in about an hours circle. Bluelakes, Mid-Lake, Lake Mendocino, Pillsbury Lake, Highlands springs, Talmage, Sulfar Lake, HiddenValley Lake, and more! Haha crazy..

I've thought the same thing about below that dam with the stripers. Some shad minnows or bass minnows and you could probably catch a pile drifting

Quick question. When fishing on a boat like this what position do you keep the rods in like depending on the casted distance which rod goes where. IE: do you put the rod that is casted out the farthest up first or last vise versa for the rod that is casted out the shortest. So if I have 3 rods out and I cast them out long medium and short where do I put them so I’d get the less amount of tangles/cross over lines

I like watching your videos and richard gene all the time, watch TH-cam more than Netflix. Got a kayak this year. Went out this weekend and did pretty good with perch. I just thought it'd be cool if you did a podcast or maybe a video on kayak fishing tips and tricks. The main issue I have is with tracking, it's hard to keep pointed in the right direction. I do have a brush anchor but that's it for now. Once it warms up I'll definitely be after some catfish. For now I'm sticking with fishing a local river, maybe in a month or 2 I'll be out on lakes.
Richard Gene is the man! Super sweet you got a kayak and have been catching fish man. Tracking is dependent more on the kayak. If it's short, it's gonna wag. Adding a rudder would help though. Good luck man!
Ice is just coming off the lakes around here. Time to snatch up the shad kill for easy bait. Wish them darn gizzards gave up the ghost in the spring. I'm wanting a kitty dinner. Good vid buddy. Oh ya a hammer handle settles them nasty long nose right down. Although bloody gar makes good bait too.

I found the rod but Amazon lists a bunch or reels (which say the reel is for fly line... duh!). Which of the reels (size) were you using. I too believe light is right!

I wonder where you are? where can you have 6 poles out, that is awesome. I live right near the big sioux river, about a mile from where it converges with the Splitrock Creek, there is a big hole there... Private land, the former gov "Jenklo" used to own it, and his caretakers kept a good eye on it. I had permission to fish it a few times. Not sure the situation anymore as he has passed, and the caretaker I knew moved I believe.

Ohio old stone quarry turned into a park and stocked, 100 feet deep, I re lined 2 poles 30lb test and new hooks, 1oz plus weights, taking 2 new reel bass poles. Have lost big fish there.

Sea bucket, Sea biscuit ( l o l ) The original name for that tactic is called a SEA ANCHOR ! QUITE EFFECTIVE ! It is effective for slowing down a drift, or as you mentioned, holding a boat in a certain direction ! I just thought you might like to know ?
