Anyone who think that the flies dont work obviously dont know fishing. Flies of all sizes works for all sorts of fish around the world. They resemble small bait fish and other fish love them.

I honestly don't mind if there is a 30 second ad in a video. I understand that videos aren't free to make but they are free to watch and if that keeps you making a video then by God I'll watch the ad.
Edit: You ain't cool unless you have power poles LOL I've been fishing for 30 years and have never seen anyone use them. I have a truck, but I was able to pay cash for it and it was relatively cheap. I have to tell my kids non-stop that you don't need the fanciest of things to enjoy life. I fish on a tractor supply Kayak that I got on sale for $250. It's got everything I need to fish on my local lake. Do I want a peddle yak? Absolutely. Saving up for one and will probably get one in the next 2-3 years.

Alright Justin, you catch some huge fish in your tournaments, but sometimes I feel like these things just say, “alright guys it’s tournament day. Anyone under 30 is gonna test the chunks of fish first”😂 then you come out here on a regular ole trip and catch monsters. Like where are these fish in tournaments?😂

Justin……. I have been out of bed this past week and been catching up on your videos.
You mentioned during the video about the negative comments. Here was a situation I was involved in at work on day shift. A mother locked her keys in the car with a baby in the car seat. It was a hot day and I was told to respond lights and siren. When I arrived the mother was in panic mode. The infant appeared to be fine and the tow truck station was less than 1/4 away and was already contacted by dispatch. The tow truck arrived within minutes and unlocked the door. The mom calmed down and stopped crying as she had her child in her arms. I was about to leave when the tow truck operator came over to my cruiser and told me the lady refused to pay her. When I spoke to the lady, she told me she didn’t call a tow truck. I told her it’s policy to send a tow truck when a child is locked in the car. She went from tears to full out Karen mode. My sergeant arrived and he told the lady that if she does not pay the service fee, he will impound the vehicle. There was a lot more but she finally paid, which I told her, her insurance may reimburse her for road side assistance.
Well, instead of a thank you all for quickly getting my baby out of a hot car, we all got an attitude.

Love watching you my only problem is I don’t rlly have a lot of time to watch the uncut ones so I don’t rlly see a lot of fish in the time span I have to watch , I would say a little less uncut videos even tho I know they make you a lot of money and it’s less work for you but better yet KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK love going on TH-cam and searching kayak catfish and seeing a new video thanks brother

Hope your trip goes well. I think a lot of the fish are on the nest. The best fish in the tournament yesterday were caught at the dam.
Got skunked at Norris Lake in TN a month ago. Fished for a straight four days and couldn't even get a bluegill!! Lol Kept trying for catfish but no luck! Justin makes me jealous hahahahaha!

About the streamer flies... YES, YOU DO GET MORE FISH. I AGREE. However, I've noticed they are smaller fish and I lose A LOT of good head baits and good body chunks while the smaller fish are fighting to get loose. This ends up giving my bigger and better baits to potentially bigger fish... FOR FREE. I tried em, good luck with em !😅👍

You crack me. I’ve never had a pedicure and I won’t if I can help it. I do wear sandals and flops, but feet are off putting to me. However, I think one of the first comments I put on one of your videos was thanking you for having clean feet 😆 I’ve worked with many male engineers and designers that got mani/pedi’s. I notice hands and shoes. Clean nails are a plus. I think it’s sweet your folks enjoy that together. I worked with one engineer that wore sandals all year. I finally told him he needed to cover his feet that they were disgusting. Plus, if OSHA had come in, he would have been written up. Ugliest feet ever. Barney Rubble feet 🤢 I use another hook to pop out the metal or paint in the eyes. I have clippers too that have sharp awl on them. If I don’t make notes to comment on your commentary, I forget what I want to say. Now THAT’S getting old. 😆 Ultra light fishing is what I do best. I love it. Absolutely my favorite type of fishing. I know your biggest catfish is the holy catfish episode, but I was wondering if you could remember the longest fish you’ve measured? Appreciate the videos and I really enjoy the raw and uncut ones.
The longest fish I ever measured in a tournament was a blue that was 50 inches. I have caught a few that were probably longer than that but I didn’t have a measuring board with me at the time.
Took two and a half days i think but watch all great vidio

You mentioned how you wonder if the fish spook when you drop the dumbbell and it crashes on the bottom. I believe you have an electronic that shows the water depth, even on your pedal kayak. You could put different color duct tape every 10 feet and know if you’re fishing at a particular depth you can be holding the 10 foot depth just before it hits bottom and then softly land it from there. Just a simple mind thought.
Yeah I could absolutely just lower the anchor down slowly so it doesn’t make a big commotion. Personally though, I prefer the dumbbell to hit with some force so that it drives into the mud and sticks. Otherwise I get pulled off the spot when a big fish takes me for a ride.
I catch hell for driving a Honda ridgeline but its like an Accord with a pickup bed and it also has a trunk to.
Best thing I watch on my tv , sure isn’t anything to watch on regular tv … I’ve got some of those flys I’m going to try drifting using nothing but them .

If your back this way, around this time of year, check out a place called the falls of the ohio, for a fisherman it's worth the drive. This time of year theres 30 40 50+ blues caught regularly and flathead to boot. Hybrids and skipjack are running
I have heard great things about that spot. I have just heard it can be difficult to get to due to the current.
@KayakCatfish yes sir it's a great place, alot of opportunities to catch monsters. When the conditions are right. The current can be pretty strong when the upper gates are open, it can be a dangerous place for someone that over runs their talents. But the good thing is you can cross and beach the boat and walk upto the falls. From the far side. What many yak fishermen do. Falls of the ohio facebook page alot of people post their pics there.
Justin, you provided me a link of your "how to" tie the no knot snell for tying on the sumo fly. TY! I promise I looked for the "how to" tie the double crappie magnet set up for skipjack and can't find it. Would you please help out? As always, proud of you Brother and thanks for all the insight, information and commentary.
Thanks Greg! I don’t have a video showing how to tie my skipjack rig but it’s very simple to do. I tie on the bottom jig first with a clinch knot. Then with the second jig, I slide it down my leader to where it’s 12-18 inches above the bottom jig and do four overhand knots around the line. That creates a little loop knot that lets the top jig dangle away from the leader line which I find helps get you better hookups.

If it’s that hot outside, I just go home.
Was curious if you’ve noticed a difference in using bait caught in the water you’re fishing being better or does it matter?
If it’s native to the water you are fishing, I don’t know that it makes a difference that it is actually caught in that particular body of water. Fresher is always better though. That I know for sure.
From surfcasting, I have the worst luck fishing with tails. Heads baits aren't much better. Bloody middle sections are great.

But the diffrence in price is the diffrence in learning straight from you how to read graph maps of your home lake have equipment and go out on you own and be successful yourself and it is what is if you catch anything. At least you gain high quality knowledge one on one, and i relize you share all this with us on video.Some Sometimes, that doesn't sink in. They have a one on one fishing class. Instead of going out with a guid, everything supplied for the day,and it is what it is and and you learn nothing.

No, I just throw the bikes on with my regular fishing content. I usually put the bike name in the title though so people will know if there is bike segment in that particular video

Best advice I could give is just go catch fish and explain to people how you do it. That strategy has worked well for me
