I really appreciate how the guides mostly just coached and let you guys do most everything else. I've been on and seen videos where the guides did everything but wind in the fish. To me the best guided trips are when they take you to the fish and mostly coach and let you enjoy the total fishing experience.
@@RiverCertified Damn Spenc, now you have the telegram scammers on your stuff.. I was just notified that I'm on a shortlisted list of winners..lmao.. Hope u catch a giant bro!!!
I caught a 40 lb Redfish 2 days ago on the Texas coast. I snagged a leader with a lead and wire surf sinker and 3 ft shark leader. My hook caught the giant ball of string that had got all tangled around the weight on the rig. I got the Redfish in and unhooked the hook that was around his jaw from the rig I snagged. Got the awesome fish free and released him. Really cool to not only snag a massive Red but also free him in much better shape than he was in before I caught him.
Just saw the sign in French and I know what you're about to do buddy, im so happy for you. That is a trip of a lifetime 100 percent, you deserve it man thanks for everything you do for the sport of fishing!
Awesome catches! Those Wels cats are something else. Glad you were able to do the trip and were able to provide us with something different. Mekong next???
Hey Spenser. I have fished lakes in Thailand, privately-owned, where the carp can be triple what you caught in Spain. Imported Aripaima have had time to grow to 3 digits and their native Catfish can be bigger than a Goliath Grouper. Honest. It would be really great to watch you fish there !
I know those lakes you’re talking about in Thailand & I honestly hated it, too many mixes of incompatible fish species in 1 pond, it’s artificial and a lot of them don’t even let you use your own bait and gear. No way the carp in those ponds exceed the size of the wild caught carp in the Ebro river, people are landing 100+ pound/60 kg carp. I’m not flying to Thailand to catch an arapaima 10 other people caught for pay. Wild caught is best, anything else is just an insult to angler.
That’s why I pushed the bell icon!! One day you are in a $hitty ol’ creek and the next, you are in Spain. Did the Crock’s make it to South America last year? Love your content. You are killing it.
This is gonna be an awesome video off the rip, The catfish master goin across the globe to lay the smack down. Heck yea bud congrats on making it happen.
You lucky SOB!! Back in 2004 I had a fishing trip booked to go after the mighty wels, unfortunately I was seriously wounded in combat and had to cancel the trip.
Congrats on the trip. Carp don't get much respect in the US but I don't mind catching them. Caught my biggest as a young teen on a windy spring day that chased us off Mississippi pool 19 and onto a little tributary creek you could cast across. Caught a 41 and a 44 just minutes apart. Stripped a reel and I stepped on a rod tip in my excitement but I couldn't have cared less. Haven't come close to those in 30 years. Got them in the teens and 20s but nothing like those two.
Congrats on the bucket list trip I was actually sitting on the side of the lake getting skunked while watching this it was the only joy I had this evening 😂
Were live pigeons an option? The video on those Wels gulping them down in France was mind blowing. Bucket list fish if there ever was one. Enjoy the trip and catch some giants.
I used to catch 25-30 lb carp on the Navy base in Great Lakes Illinois. We used crankbaits to piss them off when they were spawning. Not very long, but absolute footballs. If I were younger the Wels would be on my bucket list.
Heck yeah man, as soon as I seen the title, I knew what you were fishing for!!! I mentioned sometime earlier this year or last about if the great European wells catfish was on your list of big cats to catch. I haven't watched the video yet, but man I'm stoked!!!!!
I only got too see one forty pound Carp, growing up in central Kansas, during a raging flood , watched a guy fight it for 15 minutes, it rolledon its' side and breached out of the water, just eough too see him. Broke off. Monster common. Amazing!
"It's like zero to nothing" is a lot like my fishing lately. Haha, what a trip, man. I hope to do a fishing tour of Europe some time. Wells catfish, some giant perch and zander, and northern ocean fishing. Maybe some native range carp in the eastern parts.
Man as a texan i couldnt help but try some 80lb braid and a big river 10/0 or a circle hook and. Chunk of fish...any reason why theyre line is so ligjt to target a big fish?id imagine if you put the right poundage line you could put that heat on em..congrats on the trip its definitely one on my bucket list
Awesome video man! You always have great content, never a dull moment. A trip to Spain would definitely be awesome! You’ll definitely have to go again! And i’m guessing you’ve been watching more Flair?🤣 You used the word “beefcake” quite a bit😂🤙🏼
Dude. I wish I was there with you!! I feel like you were wishing a 10 or 12 ot hook with ab a 1lb bait, American style! I give you props for holding your tongue!!. I was feeling the same way. Just so different then American flatheads. I feel ya!. So jealous and living though yall catching fish. Love the videos!!!
Vltava river in Prague holds quite nice cats too, if you ever stumble here, hit me up and I can show you the spots and borrow gear, as I often go spin fishing for them in the summer. They search for prey in extreme fast flowing water. Warm water in Spain really helps with the growth rate, it's not a native species there tho.
Congrats on making a dream trip come true. Well deserved 😎👍.... Wow what crazy huge carp 😮 Waitin for your next vid to see more of these monster cats 🤩
20 years ago I caught a 47 1/2 lb carp in the snake river. It was so big my dad had it weighed on a certified scale at the snake river truck stop. I was on the bank and it took 50 minutes to land. The whole time I thought I had a huge catfish.
When you said you went half way around the world I’d thought you’d be fishing in my backyard. I was guessing Southeast Asia. But going after the wels is awesome. Big ass carp wow! Looking forward to the rest of trip.
I'm the opposite. I've only caught a catfish around 30lb, give or take a couple(no scale), but I've caught a carp that was around 50, he was huge. I've had a couple giant cats on but didn't get them in, cheap gear and bad decisions, but what can you do. I've got better gear and more knowledge now and I'm still looking for them when I can get out.
Those are some Kingsized Carp,They even look Large with the Samsquatch holding them.Could u even imagine if Josh hooked into a 40 ponder, pretty sure we would see him doing cartwheels across the bank.Hopefully you guys catch a Gigantic Wells, good luck Fellas.
I used to chew halibut pellet to throw in as loose feed around my margin rig. Never did me any harm. They are a bit greasy though. The Ebro is on my bucket list for sure.
OMG Spencer I have so many questions!! Are you fishing the Hebron River? Don't they use circle hooks there? Why are you using carp rigs and carp bait to catch catfish? Why aren't you cutting up the cart for bait? And why would you go to Spain to catch carp? 🤔🤔🤔
Most definitely deserve it over the rest of us, you truly do put in the work buddy, and that's what exactly I plan to do once all 4 of my boys are older
I do what I can when I can, but my life is soooo action packed with my boys sports then work, it's just tough. But what they are into in their stage of the game comes first, I'll be out there again, and am here and there, but they most definitely control my after work time, but love it all the same for sure, wouldn't trade it for a thing, except maybe a 40lb. Flatty here and there LOL, just teasin boys!!! LOL
Trip of a lifetime awesome video would love to see some intentional carp fishing out of you those setups are a little over powered for them they out fight a cat most anyway in the right gear
I appreciate the compliments to mono 😂😂😂 glad your seeing the light
What an amazing opportunity to fish for the wells catfish!! You're living the dream Spencer!!!💯🔥🔥🔥
I'm a lucky guy foe sure. Hope you enjoy all the videoa!

Yes I did and can't wait for the next one

What a nice surprise to see you going on this fishing trip of a lifetime. Enjoyed the video, looking forward to the next one.
I have been WAITING for this video!! This is a dream of mine, watching you live it is almost as good as being there myself!
The Wels look like a burbot that mated with some kind of catfish, cool critters 👍
Dude you nailed it
JEALOUS!! Thanks for sharing your experience!
Awesome Vid! Can't wait to see a Wells catfish catch n cook?!?!
I wanted to. We caught the perfect eater one day, but you have to get a separate license to keep them. Never made it back to town to buy one.
Awesome catches! Those Wels cats are something else. Glad you were able to do the trip and were able to provide us with something different. Mekong next???
Awesome trip dude! I’m very impressed with how much effort they put into fish care there! Cool fish!
Thanks man! It is way different over there.

Thanks a ton man. Big time adventure!
Simply outstanding! Love that you got to make that trip. So exciting. Loving the videos. Josh will be jealous of the Carp. Lol.
I need one of those dual rod holders! I like the tripod idea! Especially where it’s rocky shoreline.
You lucky SOB!! Back in 2004 I had a fishing trip booked to go after the mighty wels, unfortunately I was seriously wounded in combat and had to cancel the trip.
You should go to the Ebro dam Formax river camp to fish for catfish on lures there they grow over 200 pounds
Congratulations on your bucket list trip. Waiting to see you’re catch and cook video! Because I know you’re hungry😂
That looks like a heck of a fun trip! Glad you guys had a fun time.
It was! Thanks man!
Spencer and Sam becoming Carl the carp slayers? Looking guard to the next episode of this adventure. Anyway another great video. Thanks for sharing!
It was definitely a day of carp. Hope you enjoy them all man!
DUUUUUUUDE!!!!!! Sick trip! Congrats on being able to experience all of that awesomeness. When are you going back to the Amazon!? 😮
