I ordered my Prowess as soon as it came available at 8pm. I'm always on the lookout for a good light for when the power go's out, this should do the job nicely. Can't wait to try it out.
I went with the Nitecore LR70 because the lantern is more direct and is meant to be a power bank too with 10,000mAh capacity. Not as powerful as the Prowress, but it is smaller, has red light mode, and on sale it goes for $55. If they add power bank capability the Prowess would make more sense... and non-proprietary battery.
Bought that plus the multi tool. Just got the arkfeld pro flat last week. Think I have just about all thier stuff now. lol. Knives, lanterns and lights…. It’s first high power light for me though. I usually am more a mini light, headlamp etc guy so figured a full size would be nice. The secondary light sold me on it since I use those a lot.
I was very excited about this light last night put some extra money on my credit card and then thought ya do I really need it question mark after watching your video though I'm going to make the purchase thank you for your great video
Hi there, great review; subscribed! Quick question, what device are you using to keep time for the "Not-So-Scientific Heat & Turbo Test" at 12:48 onwards? Cheers!
Olight need to increase candela across the range. I love the Warrior 3s but with around 24,000cd it's getting smashed by the competition like Nitecore MH12 pro with around 60,000cd
Wish they could give us flashlights that could be powered by powerbanks and be able to use while charging.. at least if proprietery battery is empty, we can still use the torch and wont get stuck in darkeness in the middle of nowhere… Olight is like the Apple of flashlights, stuck to their proprietery magnetic charger like lightning cables. but awesome light, and I am still buying one 😀😀❤️❤️.. Thanks for the review
Same. I’ve already got the tactical tripod for my lantern, should do well with the second light too. Now I want the telescopic lantern but I’ve got 2 already. Doh.
Normally, those pins inside the tail cap are spring loaded. Also, Olight needs to keep USB ports off of their lights. That is a point of failure. People seem to love the damn things, but they are crap and once the port becomes loose or no longer works, the item that has it is forever screwed until repaired.
It seems to be a very good flashlight for camping, but unfortunately there is no way to simply hook this flashlight with a simple carabiner or a rope but only magneticaly.
Stop saying that this is a camping light; it is not! For the simple engineering that you see in the package: the charging base and wall mount. As you know, going camping is a lightweight, minimalistic and multi-use/product type of thing, so, the last thing you'll think of carrying with you is the charging base (base, as in home, homebase) with you. That light was engineered as a stand-by and utility light around the house. Why does nobody review the flashlight in that scenario? Looking at a house wall, gutters, inside a garage/shed/basement, inside a cabinet (as in places where you need light to repair things, drill, screw, saw, cut), on a kitchen table on a power outage. We all use a light in such cases, why not a review as such? Also, the name: Prowess, as in "I can do many things and I'm doing it prowdly, for your whatever-chores-may-be". Aluminium is not magnetic, btw :)
Yeah we all know aluminum isn’t magnetic. You learn that in elementary school. And if someone wants to use this as a camping light, they can. Throwing this in a backpack takes zero effort so use it wherever the hell you want.
@@ChrispyThings I disagree. Throwing this in a backpack takes more effort than you think: you always have to bring your charging base and cable and charger, to list all items needed. If you, however, already have the latter ones, as we all have nowadays, but lose the little base adapter while camping, then you are literally screwed since you will be unable to recharge your flashlight, if that is your only Olight. That little base can be easily lost and can be a stress factor not to lose it. Every product being made is made with a design view, and this one screams to be hooked to a house wall as a home/work/emergency flashlight, that is why I said that this is not a camping light. Of course you can use the flashlight where ever you want, you just need extra steps to do so, as opposed to other models or manufacturers and you will lose the convenience granted by the design: suction cup on the base, M2 glue pads for the base to be glued to a table/wall (would you even try to rip it off its glued M2 pad after it was glued, every time you'll go camping or wanting to charge it in a different room/house/place?), wall-mount for always stowing it in the same spot so that you can find it in a blackout scenario. You have to think about the whole package and not just parts of it. I hope this helps seeing hings from a different perspective. Thank you for the review, it's always appreciated!
They have been quiet because there running out of ideas, I said this on another channel last year. I love the company and have plenty of there products but unfortunately there mainly just bringing out new colours for old products
Bought this immediately. I can already tell it's gonna be a fantastic camp light.
That battery is a deal killer. Like the lite but I have so many 21700 batteries already that won't work with this. That's a shame.
Neighbors “oh he got another new light”
They’ll be saying that a lot

It really should have had the seeker 4 pro dial for the step-less dimming.
Absolutely
I like this light, but will wait for the Prowess 2 Pro or whatever the next version is. The outdated battery indicator is a let down too.

I just got this light, it's awesome. I planing on use it as an emergency light in my basement.
Totally agree in the step less dimming button. They really missed that on this light and I don't know why.
I trust Olight batteries way more than no-names… All day, every day.

Thank you. And it’s just a round digital timer I bought from Amazon.

Will the mounting bracket work with the Seeker 4 pro holster? Looks like it's a similar sized bracket.
I just ordered this light just as the video was uploaded. I'm pretty excited about the Prowess. Oh, first!

Thank you for your video. I'm charging mine now ✌🏼️
Nice. Got mine arriving in the am.
Did you try both button and flat top batteries?
I didn’t try flat top, only button top
@@ChrispyThings it’s a safe bet if button top didn’t work neither will the flat . ( comparing those to the olight batteries.) Thanks 👍
I hope they come out with a mini version
If this sells well enough it could be a possibility
I’ve been a nitecore fan boii and I also own a STKR THIS JUST MIGHT BE A GOOD CHANGE FOR ME?!?!?
Can you strobe with the back light...
No
Does the clip on holster fit molly
I just tested it and yes it’ll fit. The lip at the end of the clip makes it a pain to take off but it definitely fits
Hello, is there anyway to contact you directly

Who knew being "Bi" was a good thing!? 😂
49.99 not a penny more😊
I got a defective new light !

$150, yikes
Always wait for one of their sales!
$109 right now through their store on sale.
I’m going to hold out though for the #2 version
I lost all interest when I heard "proprietary battery".
First!
