      Thanks so much! When I get back from vacation I’ll make a short showing how I make my tanks. It’s super easy and I’m loving how the swim lining feels in the heat this summer!

    Wow Great Video! Loved how you made the stripey tee in 2 silhouettes to get what you wanted. I don't think everyone realizes what a difference that can make, and how it can wreck a good look. RE the sheer dress , fabulous! And again, working out 2 slip dresses for the exact look that you wanted. It shows others how you need to take time, analyse, and go with your fabric and pattern to bring out the best look. Congrats

      Thank you! Its so rare that I ever get a look right on the first try! I think as makers we need to not be so tough on ourselves, we need to remember designers make multiple revisions and muslins before anything goes out for production. I do like buying extra fabric for just that reason. I do adore the sheer dress! Thanks for watching and commenting! Happy sewing!

      Yes, the cropped, fitted tee looks so much better with the skirt.

    I remember wearing a romper with a button up skirt over it when I was 7 years old in the summer. It was based on the jumpsuit with the floor length button up skirt that Lucy O’Ball use to wear in the late 50’s show of her and Ricky. Mine was a short romper that buttoned up the front and had a matching knee length skirt that buttoned up also. My grandma made it for me.
    Lucy would wear hers floor length skirt unbuttoned to the waist so it flowed behind her as she walked. It look quite fancy. So Hollywood.

      Now I have to go search up what that Lucille Ball dress looks like! Sounds amazing and your romper sounds adorable. Isn't it wonderful how handmade pieces can can bring back memories! Happy sewing!

      @@SewPomona I have so many happy sewing memories of my grandmother. By the way you would look fabulous in the Lucy jump suit with the long flowing skirt. You have the best site on capsule dressing. Love the double sided tank top idea, and the way you blend you colors so they look so elegant.

    Love your sheer dress. Does the slip dress have a built in bra? So many beautiful makes and self drafted! Great job

    • @SewPomona
      @SewPomona  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much Judith! No built in bra in the slip dress, I do try to draft so straps are covered. Thanks for watching!

    @cheryl3366 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I was wondering if you figured out how to make the boxy tee fit better? I was going to make it, but I worry about its fit. Can it be drafted into a more fitted tee?

    • @SewPomona
      @SewPomona  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Cheryl! I’m guessing you mean the Tarifa tee? I don’t mind how boxy it is - I think it’s just a matter of wearing it with the right silhouette. I like it with a fitted pant or with jeans. You could size down or try narrowing the shirt at Center front and back. I have a feeling I’ll wear that tee a lot in the fall. I love the side panel detail!

    • @cheryl3366
      @cheryl3366 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SewPomona I also like the side panel detail. My issue is that boxy tops are not my friend. I have a carrot body type so boxy tops that are not brought in can be overwhelming. I also need to find a good pant patterns that has a slimmer leg and a facing waistband. Have any suggestions. I want it for wovens.
      Thanks. Good luck with your AC

    • @SewPomona
      @SewPomona  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@cheryl3366 Cheryl here are two ways I’d suggest going about getting the fit you’re looking for. 1- make a muslin in an inexpensive knit with the same amount of stretch and then slash or pinch to remove the excess. Try to keep it even and symmetrical front to back and then transfer the changes to the pattern. 2- find a pattern you like the fit of and modify the tee to match. I hope that helps! Not sure off the top of my head about a pant pattern but I’ll think about it and get back to you if I come up with something good!
