I like the idea that because Krauser doesn't shoot his gun (Due to no 2nd player) he's just standing around keeping Leon company while he slaughters everything himself.
Wow, after all these years I’m just now finding out it was a game for this mission. This explains a lot with Krauser in re4 and why he gained las plagas for his arm
Manuela was scared by Krauser's cold personality, Leon was more open with her that's why she mostly talked to him. If you play as Krauser however at some point Manuela asks Krauser "will you protect me?" and Krauser answers her with "Sure kid... Stay behind me". Krauser was a good guy, he became evil cause he felt betrayed by the government who had more faith in Leon who just joined the US Socom here while Krauser was a veteran marine, so he thought that he deserved a better treatment than him instead the president didn't even told him the mission he gave to Leon (eradicating the Veronica virus). Because of that Krauser tried to prove his value in this mission but got too reckless and ended up being hurt to an arm. Knowing that he would have become just a liability to the government in his current state, Krauser started to see the potential of the virus to heal injuries and that Manuela was able to control it and use it as her advantage. Because of that Krauser also started to see Leon and the US government as cowards who only saw the virus with fear instead of admiring their true potential. Because of that he decided that he would have searched for Wesker to side with him and one day reborn thanks to the power of these viruses.
considering the way Krauser talks about Operation Javier I think the story is gonna get 100% remade if they do, nothing is gonna be the same as this. Since apparently according to the Remake his entire squad was killed by the US Government.
I find it so interesting how much imagery and allusion is present in the intro. You have Leon, who peacefully attracts a butterfly (Often symbolizing Ada and change) meanwhile being hunted by a snake (Symbolizing Krauser (see his knife), Snakes also symbolize treachery)
The on-the-rails first-person shooter thing it has going on really reminds me of House of the Dead. You know, back when it was an arcade game. Good times.
I think it would be really easy to turn this into a separate ways-esque DLC for the remake. Just let us play as krauser instead of Leon and I think we can finally get most people to know the full story of resident evil 4
poor manuela, seriously had a really tragic backstory, her mother dead and later became a monster ( also i never expected a bow to show feelings, excepting curtis miller from degeneration) and her father a megalomaniac monster, (metaforically and literally later, lol) leon has to create an orphanage for special child from viral outbreak XD.
I’m glad to see newer players or those who missed it the first time around coming here while trying look for Operation Javier as it gets such importance in RE4 remake. I liked the story here quite much so hopefully others will enjoy too.

A resident evil operation Javier would be nice as a full game but immensely expanded upon of course as a prequel to number 4 you get familiar faces and something fresh resident evil in south america setting in the RE engine

I think this story along with Claire’s about the Veronica Virus could make for an entire Code Veronica Remake, just picture this. You boot up the game after choosing your difficulty for your playthrough of the Code Veronica Remake, the opening cutscene plays and like Resident Evil 4 Remake you See Claire’s perspective of the events after the Raccoon city incident, just like you saw Leon’s in RE 4 Remake, Like Leon Claire fills us in on what happens to her and Sherry after the events of Re2 Remake. The game begins. We are well into the playthrough, a cutscene occurs with the antagonists and we see Manuela’s father make preparations for San Diego as the family gives him a sample of the Veronica virus to take with him, Claire interrupts them and Javier bolts out of the room to make his escape. It is till the end of Code Veronica Remake, that we hear Claire in an epilogue saying how she genuinely is so glad that she found her brother and that the Veronica Virus is eradicated and no one will go through the same nightmare she went through. The epilogue cuts and fades out to a cutscene where we see Javier in a helicopter about to land on a hanger bay of the South American dam we live seen in Operation Havier, Javier opens a black briefcase to look over his samples of the virus and a smile lights up his face. The game end on that scene. There are our Easter eggs for the Operation Javier DLC coming later down the line for the Code Veronica Remake. In the remake of the dark side chronicles mission, we choose our difficulty and we are blessed with a cutscene of a more detailed look into Leon and Krauser’s training sessions, giving us a look into their relationship before this character changes for the worse forever. We then cut to the same opening cutscene as we did in the original, this time from Krausers perspective of stabbing the snake. We play as Krauser for the rest of the story, Leon instead is a crowd control buddy for the massive hordes of T-Virus zombies, Krauser is injured halfway into the game by a BOW and you take over as Leon, killing the BOW and later helping Manuela realize her strength given to her by the Veronica virus. You take over as Krauser once again as Leon is defeated in a boss battle by a master assassin sent by Manuela’s father to have her recaptured. As the teacher you finish the fight that your student wasn’t ready for, the crowd control partner switches again to Leon. This is until Krauser is incapacitated during the boss fight with the Virus enhanced version of Manuela’s father. You are forced to finish the fight as Leon, killing the final boss that is riddled with the virus, that Krauser couldn’t overcome. The same ending epilogue happens where Leon tells what happened to Manuela and Krauser after Operation Javier. Krauser feeling betrayed by Leon for not telling him about the secret mission given to him by the president remains quiet while in the corner of the helicopter receiving medical aid (his injuries are much more serious this time around). He was the voice of Chet Ubetcha and Doug Dimmadome, so now all I can picture in my head is Krauser with a ten gallon hat and ginormous belt buckle.
I watched this the whole time thinking it was a cheesy horror movie and it made everything absolutely hilarious, especially with the dialogue being xtra cheesy

manuela and HUNK are characters that have seemingly been forgotten, despite still having potential as characters in stories. manuela with her abilities cause of the virus and HUNK for obvious reasons, why, resident evil, why have you forsaken them?

6:06 - I assume this line more or less implies in the course of the operation at some point before this scene that Leon must've mentioned to Krauser about what he went through in Raccoon City during the events of the T-Virus outbreak in RE2, and that he had actually faced off with some of the bio weapons i.e. Mr. X (along with the G-Virus and William Birkin having effectively become one after injecting the virus into himself when the Umbrella agents attempted to take the sample) and others that Umbrella had running around the city's ruins while all of the other chaos was happening. I can imagine how that moment went when Krauser learned from Leon what all had happened and him possibly being quite stunned to hear of it. Makes sense, because i can't see how else Krauser would know that Leon fought B.O.W's aside from the latter telling him.
If you listen to their exchange at the beginning it's clear Krauser has at least heard about what happened in Raccoon city. he just doesn't believe it.
I remember playing this on the Wii and enjoying it. However it's much better in story mode as the chapters are interlaced with the other levels. Put altogether it does look a little lazy. Think about it, we are in South America (which just looks like Resi 5 with a green filter) and most of the time is spent in corridors that all look the same. XD
Hoorayy I really like that resident evil finally included a female Hispanic. However why couldn't she have black hair and brown eyes ? I know that Latinos don't have a specific look but it would have been refreshing to see a Hispanic or a character that doesn't have the blonde and blue eyes. I just wish they are more diverse in later games. Never the less this story was great and resident evil is life lol :-)

I love that re4Remake obligated a sparked interest to this story. So many people skipped Darkside Chronicles because it was on Wii and many of us at the time only had one console. Or didn't want to get a whole other console for one chunk of story. I'm really hoping CAPCOM releases a full DLC chapter of this story. It was a remarkably intense and amazing story that really went into the depths of what made Krauser so necessary in 4. It was a superb derailment to Resident Evil 5 as well given it had similar atmospheres and environments. Definitely needs a BTB rendition.

6:06 - I assume this line more or less implies in the course of the operation at some point before this scene that Leon must've mentioned to Krauser about what he went through in Raccoon City during the events of the T-Virus outbreak in RE2, and that he had actually faced off with some of the bio weapons i.e. Mr. X (along with the G-Virus and William Birkin having effectively become one after injecting the virus into himself when the Umbrella agents attempted to take the sample) and others that Umbrella had running around the city's ruins while all of the other chaos was happening. I can imagine how that moment went when Krauser learned from Leon what all had happened and him possibly being quite stunned to hear of it.
Makes sense, because i can't see how else Krauser would know that Leon fought B.O.W's aside from the latter telling him.
If you listen to their exchange at the beginning it's clear Krauser has at least heard about what happened in Raccoon city. he just doesn't believe it.

I remember playing this on the Wii and enjoying it. However it's much better in story mode as the chapters are interlaced with the other levels. Put altogether it does look a little lazy. Think about it, we are in South America (which just looks like Resi 5 with a green filter) and most of the time is spent in corridors that all look the same. XD

Hoorayy I really like that resident evil finally included a female Hispanic. However why couldn't she have black hair and brown eyes ? I know that Latinos don't have a specific look but it would have been refreshing to see a Hispanic or a character that doesn't have the blonde and blue eyes. I just wish they are more diverse in later games. Never the less this story was great and resident evil is life lol :-)

I love that re4Remake obligated a sparked interest to this story. So many people skipped Darkside Chronicles because it was on Wii and many of us at the time only had one console. Or didn't want to get a whole other console for one chunk of story. I'm really hoping CAPCOM releases a full DLC chapter of this story. It was a remarkably intense and amazing story that really went into the depths of what made Krauser so necessary in 4. It was a superb derailment to Resident Evil 5 as well given it had similar atmospheres and environments. Definitely needs a BTB rendition.
