The story is an abridged re-telling of Resident Evil Code Veronica, where Claire Redfield and Steve Burnside remain together and attempt to escape Rockfort Island in a seaplane, while having to contend with the psychotic Alfred Ashford, and eventually, his sister Alexia. Claire and Steve are eventually separated and Chris arrives to help her find him, before taking on Alexia. In this iteration of the story, their father Alexander Ashford makes his first physical appearance, in a video, prior to becoming the monster known as Nosferatu.

Apparently (and unfortunately) all of this remade storytelling seen here got scrapped by the RE2 Remake released days ago.
So RE2 Remake is officially the new canon storyline, alongside RE1 Remake.

I'm pretty sure that the main story of RE will remain the same, just a few tweaks. Like how in the original RE2, Kendo died almost instantly, he's actually playable in ghost survivors DLC. Or how perhaps CO-OP will he a thing again. I'd kill for that.

Cause idk what there doing at times. I'm not into old game anymore. If they make re2 graphics. Then I'll buy it. I need more of a up to date game. Graphic is everything. If it done right.

The one thing I don't like in this is that Alexia just kills Alfred herself. I liked it better in the previous one where she was angry over his death. I feel like that made her as a character more effective because it showed that she did at least care for someone.
Was she really angry over his death, though? All I remember is her patting Alfred's lifeless head, she never mentioned him afterwards.
It was implied that she cared and patting his head is an intimate gesture so it's safe to say she at least held affection for him in the old game. It was also implied in their childhood that they were really close. In the old game, it at least felt like Alfred wasn't just some pawn to her but was in fact her brother who was more than happy to help her achieve her dream. And the T-Veronica virus does not seem to remove your bonds with anyone as we saw when Steve stopped himself from hurting Claire. She injected him with the same strain she had and he was still able to turn back into a human form (although a bit green and yes, he was dying but this virus is the first time that we've seen one actually allow the mutated victim to turn back at all), meaning that this virus does at least let the infected maintain their humanity to some extent. If you think about it, the T-Veronica virus has some pretty scary potential.
@@chauvikien Aside from what @Gemtail said, Alexia was also seen cradling his dead body and singing their lullaby in the CCTV footage (while also looking very angrily into the camera). Then later on when you find his dead body as Chris he's in the same cryotube Alexia was in. It's safe to assume she did care, even if it was only a little. If she didn't I don't see why she wouldn't of just tossed his dead body aside after waking up.

Realizing that she was only created to further Alexander's ambitions and goals and realizing that she was only "loved" due to being a successful experiment drove her to insanity. To Alexander, she was only a tool, not a person.

@@solemijo7860 I don't know about a Code Veronica remake, but they've already confirmed that Resident Evil 3 is in development, so luckily we'll get to have another game focused around Jill. I want to get more backstory on Chris and Jill. Out of all of the characters in these games, those two should end up together.
Again, Steve is 17. He's basically a kid. I know Claire isn't too much older than him at about 19 but after being in college, there's definitely a difference in maturity between those ages.

a VR remake would kill the game sales because i dont know anyone with the money for a $500 headset for 1 game on the PS4 or $800 for a vive or oculus. Just wouldnt profit which is why they make the game and than release a VR version a year later so they gain enough profit to make the VR game and not lose profit to low sales. They made this game for PC I think and you were able to use a controller or keyboard, so if they remade it like this it could be used for VR or just this POV on a tv and controller.
Alfred was so good in this game. They somehow made you feel bad for him.
Interesting that after defeating Alexia, Claire tells Chris: "Let's get back. Steve is waiting for me" although he died in her arms just before the final battle. I can understand these words given Claire's emotions (people tend to deny it when those whom they love die), but after that, despite the building is about to explode, Chris who actually has too be cool-headed answers: "You are right. Let's hurry...". Still can't understand their behavior. Did they really think that they could somehow heal and revive Steve? This scene is totally different to what we saw in Code Veronica.
Buddy, I’m pretty sure you realize that Darkside Chronicles is not canonical. It is just a remake to make some money for the new Nintendo platform that this was released on.
In the classic code Veronica, Chris has no idea what Steve even looks like.
On top of that, there is also a cat and mouse game going on between Wester Chris and Alexia.
For me, the upgrade to this part of the game is that they made Steve more tolerable, however that is not a great upgrade because Steve tolerability level was at zero so anything is better than zero.
Also, they actually made Alfred Ashford sound like a maniacal villain. Almost something out of a marvel comic.
And that’s where I keep telling people that Capcom missed the ball entirely on this game as they could’ve made the Ashford the greatest villain in resident evil replacing Westgor.
The downgrade of this game is that they made Claire Redfield look like a 17 year old whereas in the classic code Veronica she actually look like a 21 year old woman.
Also, in this version Claire Redfield never shut the hell up which makes her more annoying.
And also another positive is that for the most part there is some better voice acting all over, although I wish that Claire Redfield sounded more American than Canadian in this game. She almost did not sound Canadian at all in the classic code Veronica but as time went on, Allison Court missed the target increasingly.
As for the creative direction of Capcom, or the lack of creative direction when it comes to the classic resident evils, in my opinion Capcom should just give up and continue with Ethan winters.
Maybe she wanted to take his body to make a proper funeral back in US?

@@kronniichiwa9909 I have to disagree Chris is ex military and was part of S.T.A.R.S unit for raccoon city and guy punch a Boulder by himself and surprisely hold his own ageist Weasker for years Chris has more Experience over Leon for many years sure you could say Leon has speacl training but Chris was here first not Leon and Chris was one of the founders of The BSAA and always saw the full picture Leon always had kinda a problem figuring it out until later on. But I like them both so I'm not hateing on Leon its the truth though
Man, the guy who voiced Alfred in this one... he's VERY VERY talented. I had no Idea he was in RDR2 and Fallout 4, amongst MANY other things.
Unlike RECVX where Alyson Court was the best voice performer, in this game, I'll have to say it's the voice of Alfred Ashford. I'm surprised he didn't do a Batman cartoon.
He was also in Rurouni kenshin as the title character in the 2000 dub

Ever since RE remake, Capcom has been using real life models to face scan into their games. This one here was kinda an exception. So there's really no way to adjust a real persons face to somehow look like this especially since Capcom would not be willing to go that far development wise

The thing that confuses me is... wasn't she searching for her brother this entire time? and that's why she ended up at Rockford in the first place? How the FUCK did Leon know where Chris was if even Claire didn't? That part was always dumb to me.... though I guess if Umbrella had been doing surveillance on Chris they'd know where he was and she'd figure it out that way. I still think it was dumb though
@Sunny Henries so she couldn't have asked Leon to use his connections before chasing a random lead to a dangerous Umbrella operated island by herself? Hopefully if they remake this game they make it more believable
@@darvystyle3583 he knew where Chris was because Claire told him where he was. Right before this, Steve tells her that umbrella is tracking her brother by looking on the computer... so now Claire has his location... and tells Leon, hey, I found him but I'm stuck, tell him to save me.
@@darvystyle3583 The best part would be that because of a Timeskip while she was trying to find Chris by herself Leon affiliated with the Government. Maybe while she was locked up. Or something. I dunno. That's like the only explanation. Only problem is how would she know.
I really enjoyed this retelling of Code Veronica, which is one of my favourites of the RE games. Though I still prefer to play the original game I do enjoy playing the Darkside Chronicles version too. I do think they improved Steve in the DC version and I love how Alfred was fleshed out more plus I think the final boss comes across as better. My only gripes with the DC version is pretty much all the Wesker scenes where cut (which are my favourite moments from the original), plus I think some of the updated tracks from the soundtrack are weaker, Alexia boss theme 1 for example. But this is all preference to taste and other may prefer them.
I guess the father of the jail warden still has some humanity and conscience in his soul eventhough he is working for Umbrella Corp.

I’ve actually tried replaying Code Veronica X recently. That game REALLY needs a remake. It’s save system fucked me over when I tried to fight Alexander. On top of that, most of the music was annoying and the characters’ personalities were just irritating. Dark Side Chronicles did a better job telling the story.
I saw a video where someone easily killed Alexander with the Knife, the knife in that game is strong for some reason.
CV does have bad game design in some areas but the music is easily the best out of the classic series imo. The characters were peak classic RE cheese, it does have it's own charm but I understand why people find it irritating.
Under the right people a remake would benefit Code Veronica so much with it's gameplay, design and story. I think it's also needed because it's the most important game story wise post Raccoon City.
All you need to do is fire 3 shoots from sniper rifle in his heart. Sniper rifle is mandatory so i don't know about what "fuck up" you talking about...
Like yeah when you play first time it's pretty difficult, but i think people tend to apreciate this game more on their second/third e.t.c. playtrough.

If they make revelations 3 they should put Steve, and sheva in it to give those one off characters a new story, and use leon as one of the big major playable characters since he hasn't starred in a revelations title yet. They could also change Steves designs a bit since hes older and it could change him from being a leon clone visually. Its hinted he lived and was an experiment so it would be cool seeing him if he survived.
