    Fan belt done today thanks for the video. May i add a word of advice for anyone watching. If like me your fan belt comes off, you will need a long handled screw driver or something too. The bit that is pushed forward here is easy if there is a belt on the car. If yours has fallen off it moves much further back and you will need to leverage it forward first before you can get the 15mm spanner onto it. Thanks again for the video, it was a great help 😃😃😃

    Just watched and followed your advice and guidance. After breaking down and subsequently being towed home as belt had frayed and unclipped crankshaft belt sensor, we are now back on the road at the cost of £15.00 for a new belt only. . Thank you....

      The same happened to us but sheared the wires going to the sensor and we lost the connector. Quick visit to the local scrap yard and got the wire with the clip free. Happy days.

    Thanks for the video Adrian, I had a lot of trouble resetting the belt tensioner! I removed the 3 x 10mm bolts holding the tensioner on. I put all my weight on resetting the tensioner and inserted the pin to hold it in place. I then replaced the belt and the tensioner. This was on a Peugeot Partner 2013

    Excellent video. Very clear instructions that would've worked perfectly if some previous owner hadn't damaged the boss that the 15mm spanner goes on! As it was I had to remove the tensioner assembly entirely and get a mole wrench on it with the other half in a vice to get the 4mm round stock in, then put the tensioner back on with the belt in situ, which isn't ideal for a whole host of reasons. Still, just wanted to say thanks for the video, which would have worked perfectly if the tensioner boss wasn't rounded off.

    is there *ANY* way to know is it right to do "BIG service" on 1.6 tdci / HDI engines ?
    Like You show on this excellent video the obvious difference between old and new drive belt can we somehow notice that there is time to change timing belt, tensioner, water pump...? Are there any specific sound or engine behavior to recognize ?
    I own (used) Focus (mk2.5) 1.6tdci '09 for almost 3 months and even I got warranty for more 10K km for engine and gearbox I'm still a little bit suspicious (although the vehicle looks very well preserved for 9yr old) about that question...
    In papers from service there is a trace that Big service was performed in France at 165K km with cost like 700 euro and car now have 186K km on odometer, but bcs I'm from Serbia there is never 100% warranty that the mileage wasn't decreased when vehicle was imported from France (for better selling price with less Km).
    I all ready did all filters and oil change by my own.

      Salutare,
      Recomand si inlocuirea rolelor chiar daca nu ai facut kilometrii. In timp, unsoarea din rulmentii rolelor si a pompei de apa isi pierde din proprietati si nu mai asigura ungerea optima a respectivelor angrenaje. Deci recomandarea este sa inlocuiesti cureaua impreuna cu anexele acesteia. Este probabil ca pana la finele anului sa am si un clip despre inlocuirea setului de distributie. O zi buna!

    hmmmm, nu retin in manual sa specifice la 60.000, dar mai pus pe ganduri, ca peugeot meu are 143.000 si nu i-am schimbat-o inca....si distributia nu am schimbato inca....dar la distributie stiu ca in manual scrie la 190.000 sau 240.000 ( in conditi normale).....ce parere ai?

    • @AdrianDragan
      @AdrianDragan  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Coman Radu Cureaua de accesorii este cea mai expusa la mizerie, praf, nisip si chiar pietricele, de aceea este recomandata inlocuirea la kilometrii mai putini decat cureaua de distributie. Pentru siguranta mi-am propus sa schimb distributia la 150.000 km.

    thanks Adrian, I went to my garage because the belt came off in the middle of the road and I got a quote of £450 from them to replace the drive belt plus the tensioners. Is it necessary to change the tensioners when you change the drive belt? I have a Peugeot 3008 1.6 HDI with stop and start system. Your advise is really appreciated.

      If your have more than 100,000 miles, it is necessary to replace the tensioner and the drive belt.

      Salutare,
      Nu stiu la cati kilometri trebuie inlocuit acel lant, cert este ca eu am cu 308-ul 255000km si nu l-am inlocuit inca, dar nici nu am auzit ca ar trebui inlocuit la un anumit nr de kilometri.

    salutare, cu ce tip de cheie aduc intinzatorul la loc, daca cureaua se rupe, imi trebuie ceva ca sa faca parghie, pentru ca spatiul nu mai permite intrarea unei chei fixe de 15, avand in vedere ca mecanismul de tensionare este la maxim in mom. de fata. si metalul (pin/ureche, de care se apuc) este foarte casant. p.s. este acelas mecanism ca in video-ul tau. Multumesc anticipat.

    • @AdrianDragan
      @AdrianDragan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daca este cureaua potrivita pentru masina / motorizarea ta nu are cum sa nu intre pe acele caneluri. Daca nu este corect asezata pe caneluri cel mai probabil cureaua va fi taiata sau data afara.

      Thank you for your response, in case someone else needs to know the tensioner is bolted into the alternator on my 2006 model and is fixed, not automatic tensioner. Looks easier to get to if the throttle body is removed.

    salut Adrian Drăgan. .și la mine e doar rola fixa ...înseamnă că este normal ...dar nu se poate totuși slabi alternatorul ca sa o poți schimba fără sa o forțezi

    • @AdrianDragan
      @AdrianDragan  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Modelele mai noi au curele elastice si implicit nu mai este necesar mecanismul de tensionare a curelei. Cureaua se demonteaza fortand-o sa iasa de pe o rola.

    Salut Adrian! Am si eu o intrebare: am cumparat un peugeot 206 1.4 (2006), iar cureaua (ce actioneaza alternatorul, servo, AC) s-a rupt. Mentionez ca aceasta curea era foarte deteriorata. In urma schimbarii acesteia, dupa aproximativ 50km, s-a rupt din nou. Am verificat aliniamentul rolelor (sunt ok), am verificat daca exista jocuri (rola de la intinzator are joc foarte mic, in rest toate celelalte sunt ok). Cu toate acestea, in momentul in care pun curea noua, mi-o arunca de pe caneluri (cu 2-3 caneluri catre exterior). Ai o idee ce ar putea fi? Multumesc anticipat!

    • @AdrianDragan
      @AdrianDragan  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Salutare Bogdan! Cel mai probabil este o rola putin inclinata sau prea uzata si de aici problemele. Recomand sa mergi intr-un service pentru a verifica exact problema. De asemenea nu exclud nici uzura accentuata pe fulia alternatorului.

    Hi all, i don't know if this is the right place to ask. I have a 308 and just today my air conditioning panel just died out on me. I have checked all the fuses but they seemed to be working fine. The panel (the part which controls the blower and temperature) just lost all the lights and not matter what button i press it wont turn on. Just wondering if anyone had this problem before ? I live in Malaysia so the whether is on the high 30'c during the day.

    • @AdrianDragan
      @AdrianDragan  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not know to tell you about your car problem. My first thought goes to fuse, but if you say you checked...
      Ask Peugeot forums www.peugeotforums.com/forums/308-44/ , or better is to go in Peugeot Service

      Adrian Dragan Thanks Adrian. The peugeot sevice centres here are terrible and i have solved more matters myself by researching online than through these centres. The panels started working again but only once in a while. I have been told by some mechanic friends of mine that it may be due to the circuit boards getting wet due to the torrential rain we are having now. Im still searching and researching for a solution to this issue now.. hopefully if i get it fixed i can post it here so others can learn from this. Many thanks again
