Not only that, but this shows that they do more than just stand at the pass all the time idly waiting for food. They do get stuck in and try to get people to cook the food correctly. At least in the first couple services, anyway.

One thing I think a lot of people forget about the first two HK seasons: barely any of the “chefs” competing on these seasons were pro chefs or made their living as such. Like if it were today, more than half of these people would be on MasterChef, not HK. So part of the reason there were so many mistakes in these early services is because most of these people didn’t have a clue what they were doing. I think it was starting with Season 3 that they started casting legit chefs to compete on this. And one of THOSE chefs was viewed as a weak link because she was a Waffle House chef! She would’ve had more kitchen experience than half the cast in the first two seasons!

So over half the people on that season weren't pro chefs.
As for Season 2, other than Heather being a Sous Chef, Keith being a Bartender/Chef, and Rachel being a Personal Chef, most people had jobs like "Former Stockbroker", "Caterer", "Fishmonger", "Marketing Exective", and "Deli Manager". Some things I found interesting:
-Chef Ramsay telling Garrett and Maribel to 'pick up' the dessert orders right after announcing the first tickets. It sort of sheds some light as to Ben's mess-up in actually bringing the desserts to him when he was told the same thing in Season 5, but maybe someone else can explain what exactly 'pick up' means in that context.
-Gabe getting leaned on for some quail here, which may explain why, in the second service, he asked Gordon if he needed quail when it wasn't even on the order.
-The infamous Pumpkin Risotto customer actually answering Gordon's "would you like it whole or diced" question.
-Maryann just having no patience for the circus show in front of her; no wonder she moved on after Season 3.
-Heather and Keith, usually rock solid, having some hiccups here.
-Giacomo and Larry shown actually cooking something.
-How painful the entire experience must have been for Gordon. The editing down in the actual episode really softened it for us. When the customers start chanting and cheering from the dining room, he just looks and sounds completely defeated.

I’d love if they could do this for every season and service. And for Kitchen Nightmares, I hate the editing of most Gordon shows

This is absolutely fantastic! Turns out the music is actually not only completely unnecessary, but also detrimental to the experience.

This was quite good. It gives you a proper insight to how a service is run. Honestly I can't remember the orders Gordon shouts.

I had the honor of working as a commis on Gordon’s line before. I hate how much the American shows make him come off as an unhinged lunatic.
This is the Gordon I remember. Extremely tough, but fair.

It would be nice to see a raw version of a good service as well. To see the contrast and what a good performance looks like in Hells kitchen

Would love to see S17 Blue team's service on Episode 8. It was so smooth that the only "flaw" they have is Robyn kept calling everyone baby.

I know how it's presented on TV isn't always the best for individual contestants, but Kudos to the editors. Everyone has a microphone, they need to go through hours of material, sound lines for every contestant and Ramsay, they need to cut many things together that fit. Not an easy job

My first time watching an "uncut and unfiltered", is so ...real... wow. You can see the sous chefs helping the teem that you don't normally see and no back ground sound and music helps plus you see Ramsey helps the cooks more then I thought. .

More of the raw videos pleeeeease this is a completely different experience I love it. You see Gordon helping, you see the sous chefs helping it’s not just them yelling 24/7. This is awesome

Me watching the edited version: "That's not a big mistake though that's impossible to hold back the whole service."
Also me watching the raw videos: "Oh... that dragged down the whole team because of one returned raw lobster..."

This is what we need. Not sound effects or stock music to let us know that the scene is tense. We can SEE the tension, we can FEEL it.
I love seeing this; I love fly-on-the-wall programming like this.

dinner service is always the best part of hells kitchen, the rest ist blabla reality show. this is where gordon forgets he's on tv and goes into chef-work-mode. seeing this raw version is such a treat!! compairing it to his doku "boiling point" from (i think) 1999 and seeing him work in his own restaurant back then..? hell's kitchen is chill gordon this season

Yeah this was pretty good. I'm in awe for how high quality this looks for 2006 and how the production company behind this channel has sat on this unedited footage for YEARS. Would definitely love more S1 uncut sessions as well as other seasons to boot.
