    You know, over the years we've seen Gordon in so many states. Joyful, enraged, uneasy, confused, disgusted. I think this is the first and only time I've seen him show genuine distress before. That ending crushed him

      After getting used to the insane editing and close-ups of his screaming face, there is something so incredibly *devastating* about him saying nothing and slowly walking away after noticing a big mistake. It's just so much more brutal than anything added in post-production

      To be somewhat fair, on taping nights the people who come are told what to expect. They are paid $50 and get all the free food and drinks they want. They are told to act as the would in any restaurant. But the kicker is they are told they are actually never promised any food. If you wait 3 hours, you wait. If he shuts down the place, you go home.

    I cant believe how much better this version is without all the frills, music, and just yelling all episode. You really get a feel on how much Ramsey can run both kitchens. He has total control of everything. Ive never thought he actually worked so hard. I hope these "raw" episodes keep coming. Its so refreshing just to hear the kitchen working without the talk overs and music. Amazing ❤❤❤

      Why doesn't the rookie kitchen staff wear hair and beard nets? I've served tables in many fine restaurants over 30 years. Most required nets. Ghastly and disgusting to find a hair in one's food. A real turnoff and a loss of appetite

    From every raw footage released, it seemed like Jean Philippe was more involved compared to what was broadcast on television because you can see Gordon lightly call out JP every time he doesn’t respond in time.

      I just cant believe Ramsey told JP to push the tortellini after marybelle told him they only had 5 portions ready and where working on more. there is a difference between teaching them a lesson and shooting yourself in the foot. I think it goes to show that maybe Jen was on to something when she accused Ramsey of sabotage. Thats honestly probably the reason we only got one season of the uncut footage. Im still a big fan of the Chef but man that was just such a sleazy move im truly disgusted.

      He was pushing them out early so they can ex the entire option of it, not to sabotage them - he wanted all 5 gone so they can focus on what they do have, so they can tell the servers to stop offering it - which is about communication cause its about the servers and customers too not just the "chefs" who didn't even prepare properly @@73delgado

    Funny thing about this less edited footage is that Ramsay seems wayyyy more patient and soft spoken compared to the "drama" edited version. He's actually educating a lot of them and giving advice, and it doesn't feel quite so mean as it does typically. I think this is a good sort of example of how he says he completely resets after each service and treats everyone equally. His anger actually _does_ build and doesn't just suddenly erupt from a single mistake.

    Can Hell's kitchen just be done this way going forward? This is so much easier to appreciate than the current show format. Don't get me wrong I love pretty much all things Gordon, but this is so genuine. I understand there's a lot to put in an hour long episode, but more of this format would be suuuuuuper appreciated.

      This is more of an English editing style, his uk version is a lot like this. Unfortunately it historically doesn’t do well with American audiences (which is why we have so much over editing), so it’s highly unlikely we’ll see this kind of change

    The response to the RAW series has been overwhelmingly positive, and I can totally see why.
    Service is exciting and interesting enough on its own. It doesn't need all the edits, sound effects and additional drama. Just let them cook.

    I truly have no idea how anyone does this type of work. My brain was exploding trying to remember even one table’s order, let alone multiple orders. It’s so fascinating how they can manage what looks like such a stressful experience.

    The show in this "raw" format is amazing, its almost like a master class, like we are all there with them. No dramatic music or sound effects, no over produced garbage and recaps. I wish all shows would do this. And I hope we get to see more Hells Kitchen seasons like this. I stopped watching it a long time ago, but I've been watching these in full.

      Hectic ? Lol this is actualy for a Restaraunt completly relaxed. They have hours of Preptime a small Menu and not to much Customers. The big problem why most of them make Mistakes happens because the nervosity on being on Tv and you knew the whole World will watch you. And being in a competition. Without this things this should be no problem.

      @@susakuzeroI work in a kitchen for a supermarket, no tv, medium sized menu, never past 10 customers at a given time, relatively quick service, we STILL MESS UP and to quote a co-worker of mine “We are not superheros” you can easily mess up on the easiest thing and do the most complicated order perfectly the next second, and “nervosity on being on tv” they got too much to work on to be worrying and thinking about that, i’ve been through crazy rush hours, and despite the massive difference between their level of everything and what i work with you think i’m thinking about whether or not the camera saw me drop some tongs or grab banana peppers instead of onions because they are next to each other NO it’s called you pick up the tongs and put them aside to be washed and finish up serving the customer and you put the banana peppers back in their container and grabbing the onions instead and again finishing serving the customer, and i’m just a PART TIMER, the Full timers deal with MORE THAN ME

    As a forty year veteran of the restaurant industry all I can say is WOW!. Gordon Ramsay expediting two kitchens and being aware of everything in both is absolutely amazing. And on top of that he's dealing with complete incompetence from the show's contestants. I refuse to call them chefs, they haven't even come close to earning that title. I'm surprised he doesn't yell a lot more than he does.

    God I love watching Ramsey work. Seeing how focussed in he is, running two brigades of trainee chefs, and knowing exactly where everything is at all times. Language and hamming it up a little for the cameras aside, its glorious to watch.

    The fact that jean Phillipe actually got the glasses was kind of hallarious. That customer must have been so confused.
    It's also so interesting to see how differently he interacts with the differenct contestants. Keith for example, he talks to him likehe knows that he can do good.

    I think the most interesting thing about this is that you don't really hear much arguing or fighting between the chefs. They all seem relatively nice and helpful to each other.

    This version gives a much different tone to the angry search for the lamb sauce. The genuine frustration Ramsay was feeling came through more than in the edited show. And the way that frustration led into the "fat useless sack of yankee dankee doodle shite" line was interesting to see. Finally, MaryAnn's frustration shows exactly why she lasted only one more season. You could see her soul leaving her body.

    Like one person said, it's really interesting to see that the show is actually good without the music playing and also with no sound effects. It makes you feel like you're in the kitchen yourself and you feel for Chef Ramsay when he gets angry without the over the top music playing.

    Honestly yes while having dramatic camera movement and music and such it makes it entertaining for tv, showing the service like this no music not just dramatic moments like that really puts into perspective a lot of what happens that we don't see. I honestly enjoy watching services like this a little more than on the show.

    Usually the show portraits Gordon as a ruthless kitchen leader that can't stand chefs that aren't competent, but the reality is that he is quite a good teacher, he is a master in teaching others how to not make mistakes over and over, and when someone is stubborn enough to make him angry, thats when you know they deserve the scholding he gives.

    With these episodes you can kinda get a better insight into decisions Ramsey made later on. In particular the decision to pick Virgina over Keith to go to the finals.
    Sure Keith may have been a better cook, but if some disaster happened and heather somehow had the worst night of her life in the finale, I imagine Ramsey would rather have Virginia to run his restaurant over Keith who can't even take criticism over some Oysters.

    Virginia received a lot of criticism for being a weak runner up - these 5 episodes have shown she was a lot stronger and a lot smarter than she was made out to be. Not sure which episodes she was nominated for elimination but it shouldn’t have been any of the ones shown so far

    I find this fascinating because i always thought I wouldn't do well on this show (not just because im no where near talented enough to run a restaurant to Ramsey's standard) because i would be overwhelmed and overstimulated. This confirms it but its so different then what i imagined. Its quiet but there's so much stuff to keep track of. I wish they would continue this series as a web show. That aired after each episode. It would be fascinating to see the stripped back dinner service chaos of the modern show.

      Actually most chefs wouldn't tell FOH to push something running out, they would just make sure the FOH has a running total and is aware of how many portions are available so as not to end up with orders that they cannot fill. Then after service probably question why there was a shortage so early on in service, i.e why their station wasn't prepped up for service.

    Watching this gives me flash backs to working in Colorado at high end kitchens, it’s awesome but so stressful at the same time but every second was a learning experience and I’m beyond grateful I was able to be there.

    Hell's Kitchen Unplugged. I absolutely love this. It's so much more intense and intimate with out all of the cymbal crashes, random rattles and narration. We're in the kitchen trenches with them, no offense to the production. 🔥🍴
