Our First Impressions of Lisbon Portugal

- After a week driving around Portugal, we finally made it to Lisbon. At a first glance, this city is much different than everything else we had seen around the country. In fact, Lisbon looked more like any other large city you can see around the world. But we were ready to find the hidden gems around Lisbon.

First of all, we stayed at what is most likely the coolest hotel in Lisbon. The Homeboat Company offers one and two bedroom floating room with a full kitchen and sundeck. If you are looking for a special place to stay, this is really it.

Other than that, we left my parents behind to relax this time and we rented a little blue Vespa to explore Lisbon on our own. This was the best decision EVER! For our first afternoon with the scooter, rode down to the Belem, the Lisbon Old Town. We visited the 4th best McDonald's restaurant in the world, had some pastel the Belem, had a look at the Belem Tower and simply enjoyed the views of this stunning area of Lisbon. That night ended up back at the marina for a delicious Portuguese style meal with my parents.
For our second day in Lisbon, there was one thing we had to do and that was the famous Tram 28. Lisbon has a large network of tram that goes around the city but in the old town, they style have one line that runs trams from the 1930's. They are yellow trams and they look amazing. With that being said, these tram are extremely popular and we were a bit short on time so we did the second best thing! We took our little Vespa scooter and followed the track around town.
Overall, an amazing couple of days in Portugal's capital BUT if you have to pick between Porto and Lisbon, we suggest you visit Porto.

Nice video. Actually, there are a lot of tram lines still operational and we do use most of them. 28 is the most famous one, so its always full of tourists and pickpockets
What I meant is that this was the last line still operating the old trams. :)
@@DaveMani Yes, a lot of the other lines still use the old ones. And you are right, the ads kind of break the spirit
And its not only for tourists, but because of tourists, the olpeople from that are can use this public transporte anymore because is always full
Did you add the provised sugar and cynamon on top of the pastrl de Belém?
We did on the second one yes.
The McDonalds from Porto is actually much more beautiful from that one.
The Pastel de Belem, needs to be eatean warm, and with cinnamon and sugar on top since they are not very sweet compared to the other ones. So if you do not eat with the sugar and cinnamon it won't be as good. But still, I also agree that Manteigaria has beatean the competition recently, for me it is my favorite one at the moment. But you should have eatean with the topping, to fully experience the Pastel de Belem :P
For the pastel, we got them warm when we bought them and we did try after the fact with the sugar and cinnamon they give which did help but nothing against Porto! Haha
I think you guys got confused between the McD's in Porto and Lisbon, the Lisbon one is normal, the Porto one is out of this world. Next time! LOL
