This video finally got me past this boss! What did it mainly is the advice about Enenra's two step forward move that opens an attack window. Before that I was really only trying to attack him after successfully landing a burst counter on his tornado attack, which often led to my death. Also keeping distance from Enenra yet keeping a small space from the wall helped because when he transports and you're on the wall you can become trapped for a second which also can lead to instant death. Also if you are using a Brute guardian, when you decide to transform try spamming light attack(square), the heavy attack gives him too much time to recover and attack. Fuzzy also got me past The Demon of Hatred, which was probably the best boss beat achievement for me in gaming. Thanks dude, best boss vids for certain. You are good at picking up on the small things others don't notice, and thats what makes the difference for sure.
Just here to say thanks a ton! Learning the boss' moves really is the thing that wins every boss fight, and this video helped me do just that instead of just reacting in a panic every time he began any animation.
Thanks for doing this. You did well at breaking him down into the fundamentals. Too many Nioh 2 guides on here are "just be a ninja and use kunais and poison = instant win."
Just started playing Nioh 2 now after playing the first game recently too. Just beat this boss, not too bad once you learn his move set. Still not got the hang of burst counter but early days in the game.
Holy cow, mate. I died about 20 straight times. I watched this video and beat him immediately on my next try! It was actually easy after watching this video. Well done. Gave you a like and a subscribe, accordingly.
Man I got this s.o.b. down to 5% health like 5 times in a row now and it's driving me crazy. Been a while since I faced some tough bosses so im definitely loving it although it does suck when you are just so close only to make 1 mistake at the very end. On another note, I am loving the level design especially this zone. It's a huge leap forward from nioh 1 and im very happy so far with the game. I was a little concerned in the betas but I feel the whole game is giving me better perspective. Yokai shift and burst counters im still not sure about but I can't judge them until I get later in the game to see what leveling the skill tree up does along with gear etc.
I love everything EXCEPT Yokai Shift. I feel it's so weak and short that it's worthless. At some point I'll see if there's a way to improve it, but it's definitely not even a poor man's Living Weapon. Sad, because the power fantasy isn't there, which is one of the things I liked about Nioh. The rest is good though - especially the music. Holy shit they stepped up their music game this time around!
@@fuzzybearbarian So I beat the boss the first try after writing this comment and only used 1 elixir. Haha I was so proud of myself and also realized he wasn't as hard as I originally thought once I started following that tip of moving to the left which saved me alot of ki since I wasnt frantically dodging backwards. Just walking briskly to my left and avoiding everything pretty much. Absolutely agree. The music is insanely good and I feel Nioh 2 overall has so much more personality and really defined it's identity in alot of ways. They made so many small detail changes that I love, the level design so far is a huge step up, the yokai are much cooler and I love that their is more beast type bosses, the new perks and stats are great and the story telling seems to be a nice blend of cutscenes and reading. Yokai shift takes so long to charge up for me and it doesnt feel worthwhile to use. I basically only use it if I get caught in a pinch and to prevent death so I can escape a bad situation.
@@CantTreadOnMe I would love the game with Living Weapon like it used to be AND the burst counter mechanic. It'll never happen though, but we can dream.
@@fuzzybearbarian tried this strategy against the boss but he's still beating me a lot! (came really close once tho) It could be because my build so far is mostly evened out with 7's and an 8 in constitution and a 6 in strength
When the water falls on him on your game, he falls to the ground out of key, but when I do it it just staggers him briefly and when I try to attack him he pummels me lol
Watch his ki bar. It has two bars on it. The normal purple ki that goes down from right to left, and a second red bar that goes from right to left after the ki is going down. The red bar is his actual stagger bar. So when he's out of ki that doesn't mean he'll go down and stay there to grapple - you have to have the red bar get full after that.
Fuzzy Bearbarian I’ve changed from odachi build to ninjitsu, but I have 12 points in my odachi skill tree I no longer need, do you know if it’s possible to swap them over to ninjitsu?
@@prometheus7109 Only by completely respeccing with a Book of Reincarnation from the Blacksmith - but be aware, every time you buy the book it jumps up in price a ridiculous amount.
How come when you deplete his ki - you can’t always do a grapple to take a chunk of his health? I am fighting him on twilight and it takes forever for his health to go down
His ki bar is about his ability to attack, but he has a separate stagger bar for the grapple. So he has 3 bars - his health bar on top, his ki bar on the bottom, and a red stagger bar that you see moving from right to left along the ki bar. You have to get the red staggar bar to go all the way to the left of the ki bar for him to fall for a grapple.
Fuzzy Bearbarian what do you recommend? I mainly use a sword or a spear, and right I am around level 45 but struggling in the first stage of Soaring... only doing about 150 per hit with the Torymesu (misspelled, the corrupted sword). I distributed the points evenly across all stats except for magic and dex
Twilight Enenra is unironically the hardest enemy in the game. Seriously just the shittiest boss ever made. His hitboxes are terrible, he spams bombs and grabs, and your attacks constantly whiff for no reason against him.
I get it. He was a handful until I worked out to pace myself on his openings. Most importantly, by keeping away from him he will teleport and when he does you must pull your stick away and hold run to quickly back away before he can hit. You can also use the feral burst to teleport away, though I find that can be hit and miss. I highly recommend going into settings and binding guard to spin the camera around to face enemies. You can use that to your advantage a lot with where enemies end up in relation to the camera, for each time you press block you'll instantly be facing the enemy. I can't live without that setting tbh.
Tyler Moses all I can really say, is explore explore explore, and even though I’m speaking the obvious, the game does reward you for exploring, found some good stuff, like the lantern fruit
Nioh fights are still tough even when you know what to do - you still have to do it! But honestly, it's just practice and patience to get a feel for it all and then once you do you'll sail through.
Easily the best guide vid...made for the common man!...I may have only died to this guy for like 2 days straight haha

I hated this boss!. I got stuck on him for hours and ended up calling for help. I can’t imagine what the other bosses are like😑.
Yatsu-no-Kami is trouble (the next main mission boss). But I have a guide on that to help...it's rendering now 👍
