Love my Escort. Had it for 9 years and countless rounds fired. No issues yet. Not one. I've even submerged it in a tent that got flooded over night with no rusting or issues afterwards. Smooth as butter too. Only thing lacking a bit is sights. But it's cool.
I own 2 870's and purchased the Escort a couple years ago for my daughter. I like it, it's not a bad shotgun, but it does have some ejecting issues. At least hers does. For home and self defense, I want the gun that works every stroke. But at the price point I purchased it, it's not a bad shotgun.
Upgrade the spring & follower to make the slugger run much better. Very easy to do. The spring is thicker, and the follower is much smoother with no "edges."
Today (02-25-2023) my son just bought on of these in Boise, Idaho for $105.00. I looked it over and it looks very well man, both to him and I, both of whom a "gun guys.' I have both a Remington tactical 870 and tactical Mossberg 500 and both have Streamlight led forearms, that I love. For only a $105.00 I might pick up a couple of these for my shop and barn, since they are of good quality at a _Bargain Price._
Just got one today in Baker City D&B for $100 on sale. I couldn’t pass it up as a inexpensive truck gun! A Velcro side saddle, and streamlight for the forend and I’ll be in business.
I bought an Escort right before the pandemic for like $125 or so. I’ve shot it for a few years (maybe 300-400 shells). Not one malfunction. Highly recommend it if you’re just dabbing into the world of shotguns and home defense.
I had a Chiappa that looked just like the Escort. Of course it was Turkish. I liked the blade front sight. Not a big fan of the 870 style controls. I grew up with Mossbergs and prefer the slide release to the rear and the shell elevator out of the way for easier loading. But there is no arguing which pump gun the after market supports most. And I'll be the first to admit the 870 is the most "All Bidness" looking model around. Digging that second one you had with longer mag tube. What kind of sling was that and where do I get one?
Never hear of Hatsan until I saw the slugger in my local gun store for $179 bucks and I had to buy it. I haven't shot it yet, how "good" is this brand and have you had any problems out of yours? Thanks 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Another good video. Personally I prefer the Mossberg style safety, slide release position and the out of the way shell lifter. Never owned a real 870 but ive owned an H&R Pardner and a Chiappa that was Turkish and probably made in the same place as your Escort. I really liked the H&R Chinese 870 knockoff better.
Do you happen to know if the stock from a Remington 870 will fit Escort Slugger? I live in anti-gun Illinois and with the passage of the assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazine bill my tactical escort slugger model which the only difference is the rear and slide stock with the pistol grip is now considered an assualt weapon. To be honest after I bough it I wished I had bought the standard non-tac model you have and have been toying with the idea of trying to find some real or faux walnut or other wood looking standard replacments.
Yeah, I bought one yesterday, but The store here in Bakersfield is changing ownership and I won't be able to file the paperwork until Dec. 9, the wait another 10-days for the BG check. I'm looking for some ammo. The salesman said that "If you take care of your gun, your gun will take care of you."
@@TheGoldengreen88 ...I like it a lot. I've only shot it twice, but one shot is like shooting my 9mm 5 or 6 rounds. One-shot, many holes. It's extremely nice. Also, there is not too much kickback. It shoots very easily. You will love it!
Bought one about a year ago. Good shotgun but it isn’t fun to shoot. I honestly don’t think I’ve shot any gun that kicks like the slugger does. Brother and nephew both shot it also and they put 5 shells through it and were done.
I picked up one a little while back and I was wondering if those indents on the receiver are for mounting something (they seem pretty shallow) or not. Anybody know?
@@ryanmosley8250 I am not from America my friend but i trust only a well build, high quality, made in USA shotgun for hunting and home defense. My choice is a Remington 870 wingmaster. You pay once and you have it for a Life without problems.
@@colecole3352 Agreed when bought new. I paid $230 for my 870 used at a gun shop and it was way better than the escort, but it was used so there are the trade offs
Both are trash. These are ideal Fudd guns. Remington quality has been garbage since the 2007 Freedom-Group buyout. Get a Benelli or a Beretta and stop being poor.
It appears Testical Mushmouth is a giant douchebag. I appreciate your video here as I've been considering an Escort. And guns on a budget aren't necessarily a bad thing as long as they function well.
How about you stop being a snobby little prick and let people buy what they want to buy or what they can afford? You’re not in control of their wallet or their life. Just keep your focus on your pathetic self.

I’m starting to love mine. Just put a side saddle on it but can only fit 4 rounds. I like the simple sight on it better than a bead sight

can someone compare the parts for 870's that fit the escort
Thank you for the comparison. We are considering the Escort for a basic home defense gun.
Great Shotgun for the price.
I just got one. Great gun for the price

I have one and it groups fantastically with 00 buck, slugs are pretty accurate too. Great value shotgun.

You'd have to be a crackhead to buy this when Mossbergs exist for a similar price.

Just got me an escort...just curious if you've found any aftermarket stuff for it?
The Trigger is a little too far for my trigger finger , is there replacement stocks ?
So would stocks that fit the 870 hit the Escort? Namely, would a birdshead (shockwave style) grip fit on the Escort?!
first off you dont buy a 200 dollar home defense shotgun looking for up grades , you cant paint a pickle ! it goes boom and thats it !
Why is there such a large price difference between the two? How can Hatsan afford to manufacture the Escort at such a low price?
Got my Escort
Hi! great video!, is there any difference on the barrel thickness?!
Will the 870 barrel fit the Escort ??

I have a really important question, can you see if the butt stock fits the Hatsan Escort Slugger?
can you fit a 870 stock on a escort slugger
There are supposedly "kits" to adapt either 870's or Mossberg 500's on them. Supposedly, Charles Daley (Italian) will fit with a tiny bit of mods.
To add to my previous comment, I oaid $147.00 for it.
Thanks for this video! I have been looking at the escort tactical, now I'm def buying one this Friday. Only $129 at Big R!!
Do you think a Remington 870 mag extension tube will fit the escort
Thank you for the video! Would you still recommend this shotgun based on owning an 870? Thanks again!
` seems like more dissimilarities than similarities? ... and the 'similarities' seem common to most pumps?
Is the escort a slugger? If so, can I shoot any 12 gauge ammo?
does the forend from 870 work on the slugger?

Yea this sucker kicks harder than any 12 gauge ive ever shot lmao
When it comes time to actually use it in a situation where it counts trust me you won't even notice that kick at least not until it's over with
are you able to put a 870 rear pistol grip to the escort?
The escort now comes in a "tactical" version that has a pistol grip and extra shell storage on the butt.
Thanks a lot this was awesome!
