Got my mk5 for 8 years now. My AC is broken since i bought it. I'm going to watch all of your video's and next summer i give my car the love it deserves by fixing everything. Thnx to inspire me!😎
😂 glad I'm not the only one with a mechanically mint car that still breaks down!! I'll show this to the other half later, I know she'll just roll her eyes but it'll make me feel better 😂 NEXT UP, TIME FOR A TOOOOOON!!!
I like the B14's. I use to have KONI, but now, I will get this one. Thanks for sharing. At the moment i'm on TA-Technix, so far it's okay but it's just too low. Not a big fan of too low. I prefer a bit of gap
Great stuff , I'm subscribed and you will be hearing from me after new year. I've bought a nice clean 07 plate gti edition 30 with 89k miles. Going to speak to you about balance shaft delete , inlet walnut blasted and injectors cleaned new thermostat and oil pressure switch like you say and cam chain if it needs done . I'm only 60 miles away . Cheers Nick 🍻
Nice job getting the height and alignment setup. Yeah I've seen a/c compressor clutches seize so many times and it sucks. Especially on cars with one single serpentine belt. A trashed compressor clutch will always leave you stranded when it spits out the belt. All good though, you threw another in and recharged it, again lol. Thanks for sharing even though it was not as planned. Still a good video, and you are absolutely right about shit breaking. If it's a 'wear part' you can count on it happening at a totally random time. Doesn't matter if it hasn't been touched either, it'll happen, it's just a matter of when... Can't wait for the next video! 👍👍😁
Not that lucky mate I burnt it 😂 but I did that watching it vid so it's not all bad. Bk in with 2nd try at bacon sandwich 😎✌👍👊 looking forward to the next one mate.
Man the thumbnail had me thinking the worst... glad it was only kinda worst.... still not what you need though 😁 look forward to the next vid and hope its soon.... mk5 is gonna be a blast on the road 👌
@@DecimalTenths it’s about the same as mine with h&r springs 👍 As for the aux belt and compressor problem I would take it back to whoever did the engine work and fitted the headlights 😂🤣😂
Question : if the ac pump mechanically seized should you flush you ac system because metal particals could destroy your ne pump and replace the filter for the ac?. It happend to me my new pump lasted a month 😁 like your vids by the way
Dude I need your expertise….. got a 18t stage 2,, got the mapper back to give me some more boooost and came across a problem. Acceleration is faultless but then when at motorway speeds and when trying to keep it at 70mph, it’s almost like the accelerator is on-off-on-off-on-off and kind of surges. This with the slightest of pressure on the accelerator, literally the weight of a trainer. Press the accelerator a tiny bit and the car accelerates and the ‘surging’ stops… had to get the mapper back to stick it back to the original ‘stage 2’. Incompetent mapper or something simply over looked? Cheers
Just to add to my first comment. It’s a 1.8t (bfb) with front mount. Ko3s, forged diverter valve, de cat, res delete. Tfsi coil packs, brand new sparkies. Complete overghaul if pcv system. Zero boost leaks. All hardware working as it should.
Thanks mate, any idea what could have caused it to act like that? It wasn’t upped ridiculously. Just a tad. Just found it strange how him upping boost slightly caused that issue. Thanks for he reply, appreciate it dude 👍🏻
Well that's a ridiculous observation considering "all that work" had nothing to do with an aux belt, so nothing was reused. It didn't need replaced so didn't get replaced 🤣
I was a hardcore Mustang guy. But I changed my mind in 2010. And bought a mk5 GTI. Will never go back
Good for you pal, cracking cars

Nice one, do it 👍👍
C’mon the brew! 😂💪🏼
🤣🤣👌
It's an age thing. We are past the point of super low and loud obnoxious sounds haha, now it's all about quality mods.
🙌🤙🤙
I just finished watching the video. Sucks to have something else fail when you had a goal to get something done. Good that you got the A/C back.
Shit happens dude...🙈🤣🤣
My aux belt jammed into my timing belt somehow. Luckily it was idling not at wot. Saved the engine

Haha aye how very modern to expect cars to never break down... completely false. Just got to get on with it
Loving the stance, like you say shit happens, slammed car's are horrible 🙈🙈
Cheers yeah I'm not a fan of slammed cars.
Just in time for winter 🥶
Seems to be common on mk5s for the air con to pack up one way or another. Now get her on them rollers!
Incoming!!
@@DecimalTenths cant wait yo see the difference all the mods make

Wanted to ask where can I get that machine that you are using to Regas your car Aircondtioner
It's a professional Air con machine. Costs a lit but we use it a lit in the workshop

If the problem is there after mapping, and returning it to its previous iteration has cured it, then yes the mapping is at fault 👍

Aircon shitting itself on a Golf ???? No waaaaay
