Our family became homeless due to a house fire. We are lucky enough to find a place. It took me 5 years, to even find a place, but after 15 years, I own my home now, but I am now paraplegic and they pay someone great money to take care of me, but I only get under a thousand and if it wasn't for the person taking care of me, I wouldn't be able to pay the bills or taxes. If we get more than $2,000, they take our money. How can we afford anything or repair anything??? You can't have a baby on the streets. You can't have anything on the street. "HOUSING FIRST UNCONDITIONALLY!" Like other countries do! We are the wealthiest country on earth!!! WHAT ARE WE DOING??? Churches have billions of dollars and more real estate than God and there are still homeless hungry people??? Real Godlike.
I know you guy, he was 15 years in prison for drug dealing and after that he starts mowing breeds in Florida and now he is married , own a condo in Florida! That should give some people hope ❤😊

It's sad but most who aren't on drugs are 1 pay check away from being homeless. The cost of living here in fl is threw the roof. They should have housing that is affordable to people on ssi ssdi... That's a fixed income from the government and there should be housing that's based on that. So you have a decent home and able to pay your bills and food able to survive... so sad things need to change.
DRUGS no matter what their sob story is.. DRUGS got them there... period... they'd have housing or a bed in shelters if they stop ..but they refuse therefore they live in the woods /streets .. it's their choice to not better themselves .. i've worked my a$$ off since the age of 14 ..moved on my own at 18 .. i struggled myself to make ends meet .. but never turned to drugs .. no couch surfing or homeless these people choose to spend their days panhandling for more drugs .. they are the reason for the Overdose rates .. hard to feel sorry for them .. (my opinion) you don't have to like it ..
Not everyone that’s homeless is because of drugs. But I can see where drug addiction could be the 2nd thing to happen after that situation . My heart & prayers goes out to all of them. No one wants to be a drug addict or homeless ! Nobody !
I moved out of Florida about 8 years ago; I can only imagine how it is there now; it was terrible then, the homelessness and people with severe financial issues, at least in the Tampa Bay market. But it's considerably more expensive now, plus all the natural disasters and weird government changes.

Drugs cant be simplified like that. Pretty closed minded of you. People's problems are much deeper than that. They try and mask the pain with drugs, but rarely are drugs the "Only" problem.
