Yet they were meant to be middle aged men, probably born in the late 50's, though Fred Armisen and Dave Grohl were 43 and 41 at the time. Aging rock stars usually settle down and reinvent themselves like David Bowie and Paul Weller did.
Thank you for your service 🤗 . I went to a lot of small punk/hardcore gigs in the 90s. Saw Refused play in front of 100 kids.
This song is a banger!
OI! Oi!! Much love homie from 805 & AZ
If this isn’t me at my kids wedding, I didn’t live my life
definetly , im doing this as well.
The song or the fist fight in the parking lot?
@@RapsCalorie Why not both?!
@@RapsCalorie Yes!
My kids are lucky I never had any, lol.
Hardcore wouldn't be what it is today without this band
Cadenza-Norton Wedding Band:
Dez Cadena: Singer of Black Flag
Greg Norton: Bass Player for Husker Du
Lyle Presler: Guitarist for Minor Threat
Steve Depace: Drummer for Flipper
Sound good??
One of my all-time favorite skits. It's so nice to be able to watch it again.
Love the nod to "Institutionalized"... Great sketch!
Justin G all I wanted was a Pepsi
I noticed that too! Lol S.T!
Just one Pepsi
Wr got Suicidal Tendencies, some Black Flag, Bad Brains, Minor Threat, good old school shit.
I'm not crazy!
Its always good to see fred never forgetting his roots and sliding punk things into things. God save fred!
4 notes in on the song and Kutcher is so amped up, he shoves his heel through an entire wine flight. It is just too perfect. Kicking Bobby and Kenan’s serving platters for no reason just kills me every time. What a mess but what a crazy off the wall sketch.
It's fucking punk, what did you expect?
1:58 is so Suicidal Tendencies
All he wanted was a Pepsi.
@@bobomchoboJust one Pepsi
You can't bring me down
Sometimes I try to do things..and they just don’t work out an I get really frustrated😩😩
With the lyrics they sound like the Dead Kennedy's and old Suicidal Tendencies. They should be called The Suicidal Kennedy's.
yeah a whole section is almost lifted out of Institutionalized
And the suits make them look like The Hives
Cadenza-Norton Wedding Band:
Dez Cadena: Singer of Black Flag
Greg Norton: Bass Player for Husker Du
Lyle Presler: Guitarist for Minor Threat
Steve Depace: Drummer for Flipper
Sound good??
I definitely heard “we got a bigger problem “
Dang, I thought the exact same thing. The beginning and the chorus were giving off major Kennedys vibes.
Fred hitting himself over the head with the bottle kills me every time.
PROBABLY A gg allin refernce
Please for the love of all that is holy, let Dave Grohl host SNL. This was amazing.
Oh, no shit...right?!? He'd be freaking amazing at it! Such an awesome dude.
@@eat_pray_porg8450 Yeah
His spoon is too big
I've seen this a million times and just now noticed Hader's pick toss to Jason Sudekis , just perfect!
2:25 that was the most casual broken bottle over someone's head in the history of broken bottles.
I didn't even notice it until I went back
I assume you've never watched a GG allin performance before? Cause he did it with real bottles that causally.
I tried to convince my brother to let me do this skit at his wedding, he's a huge Armisen fan, but he reluctantly said no. He was worried the bride and her family wouldn't get it... he was on the fence though. I almost had him. Should have done it anyway.
At least you tried! That is almost a once in a lifetime opportunity! Hahaha!
Should have done it at the bachelor party or something lol
Better to beg for forgiveness than ask permission.
Awwww that would’ve been hilarious!!
Good thing you didn’t tbh it would have been awkward and embarrassing for everyone :/
Anyone notice the sign at the beginning that said “Cadena-Norton Wedding?”
Dez Cadena was the lead singer of Black Flag. Nice Easter egg.
Supposedly Dez Cadena was the guy who gave Greg Norton the idea to grow out his moustache and to start waxing it up.....
Also the band members
Greg - could be greg ginn or greg norton
Lyle - lyle from fugazi
Steve - could be steve albini
lynn pehrson fugazi is the most slept on band of all time. I got smashed last night and came home blasting shut the door.
The Cadena reference is the only reason I clicked on this.
@@lynnpehrson8826 Lyle was in Minor Threat though, not Fugazi
"Do you hear that Alexander Haig?" -- perfect time and place. Oi!
It isnt real punk unless the vocalist has to search for the microphone to finish the song.
Up next At the drive-in
Kyle Whitt dancing on the corpses ashes
@@jessica_jam4386 Yep Exactly..
yes, the audience isn't punk at all - no stage dives, no moshpit, no jackass skateboarders...
@josiecee23
I am actually swiss, so I don't speak english as my native language. We used to call just everything "pogo" - even if it was stagediving (well, maybe not exactly, but close to).
Yet, I can actually remember to have read the term "moshpit" for the first time in a MRR fanzine back in 1989 in a letter written by a fan who was ranting about suicidal tendencies' fanbase who would just beat up anybody who'd dare to start a "moshpit" at their gigs. So maybe you're right as grunge started shortly after that ( it was about 90-91 when I first heard that specific seattle sound).
OH...MY...GOD!!! As someone who absolutely loves this era of punk, this skit is amazing!!!
Tskune B. As a self professed punk hating metal head, I have to say that this is the greatest skit I have ever seen..!
Loved the “Suicidal” part of the tune.
Total Genius!
And it sounded like punk mot pop punk which made it good lol
Alexandra Haig and Reagan
Tskune B. You should see the Elton John and the Queen one. Quality British punk.
the fact that grohl's mic went out during the song made it that much more punk rock!
Anyone who can create parody and awesome music at the same time is an absolute genius
FIST FIGHT! FIST FIGHT! FIST FIGHT IN THE PARKIN' LOT!!! **tackles the wedding cake** hahahah
I used to follow these guys around on tour with Suicidal Tendencies. Good to see they still have that groove! FIST FIGHT IN THE PARKING LOT!!
This is the only kind of wedding I'd ever be interested in attending.....
Professicchio me too
Agreed.
Absolutely agree...i fkn hate weddings...fk all my friends who get married and make me come to their stupid day!
Same
But the I wouldn't have watched it
I love the look of shock and dismay on the faces of the people who look like they've never heard Punk Rock before....hilarious
Fred Armiston actually used to be in a punk band for real back in the day
I think the drummer did too, not sure though
@@mattthomas9974 hmmm wonder which band that was...
@@danielkim6751 lmao lol!
Daniel Kim pretty sure he’s an ex blink member
He was actually in a small band known as Scream in the 80’s.... but he didn’t do much after that
I came expecting to laugh but instead just got to hear a pretty rad punk song.
Joe Jones doesn’t hurt with Grohl on drums !
FIST FIGHT IN A PARKING LOT
You're never too old for a fistfight in the parking lot.
Oh my God!!! I was laughing out loud! I love this. Jason Sudeikis yelling "Yeah you are!" at the end. Hilarious. ❤
Bill's "Did this thing get heavier?" line is so underrated. 0:58
Agreed!
Missed that 😂✅
Ahhhh, fuck... I'm crying laughing over here! 😂😂😂 Fred definitely wrote that. That's a musician's "dad joke" if I ever heard one, but Bill Hader just almost kilt me with his delivery.
What rating did it get and what rating do you think it deserved?
Honestly the best thing SNLhas ever done and this song is actually killer!
Here is the song i guess, th-cam.com/video/7BmvouzZj9Q/w-d-xo.html
A touring band from Milwaukee playing my local dive bar last month covered this.
Fuck yeah 😅
Nice!
I'm now that old punk rocker who looks like a typical middle-aged person on the outside and only gets to relive my youth through reminders like this skit. This is definitely one of my SNL faves; it's so accurate!
Me too man. Still love getting to shows though. 50 and still not afraid to get up the front although my hip my break one day. Gotta get out and see music man. It’s vital. After covid19 of course. 👊🏼
@@70zenboy I'm almost in my 50 and I miss those concerts, I dream about it. Hope soon we'll be back again!!!!!
Love the Suicidal Tendencies reference! Also, this fake punk band is better than most
I was hoping other people got that too. It triggered lyrics in my head that I hadn't heard for years..."your institutional learning facilities!"
I’m not crazy! Institution!!!
All I wanted was a pepsi and she wouldn't give it to me
They do a brilliant job of creating a song that sounds completely from that period! And, I wanna see these guys live!
I saw your mummy and your mummy's dead!!!
How on earth do you kill it like that for just a comedy sketch??? Its insane
I absolutely loved this sketch. My dad’s an old punk rocker-he was an editor at Spin magazine in its early days and still listens to the coolest shit. The funny thing is, he looks like a regular dad 😂. I wish something like this had happened at my wedding!
"You hear that Alexander Haig!"...get's me every time. A perfectly random early 80's reference.
I love the Dead Kennedys political references and also the Suicidal Tendencies musical “breakdown” in this song.
For Real....
I can picture Jello Biafra singing that line!
Has anyone else come back to see this more than 10 times? Or is it just me 😅
Me too
We are a whole bunch of people I think
I feel like I watch this every month or two
🙋😂😂😂😂
Nope me too!
My life is now fulfilled to see Bill Hader as a bassist
Right? And with grohl and Kutcher shoootttt
He actually learned to play, I believe Fred taught him
@@kravitz1999 he actually started playing bass as a teenager

Every wedding should be like this. People would stay together more.
Why does this not happen
