      Wrong crowd. Also, while the imitations are spot-on, it doesn't go far beyond that. The show is missing a dysfunctional character to foil Ian Rubbish--a Bizzaros version of Sid Vicious with a heroin needle stuck to his arm with duct tape, or something.

      @@rickdeckard1075 It's valid in Fred's case. People always talk about how great Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig were on SNL (which they were of course), but barely anyone praises Fred and he could make Bill and Kristen break at will.

      @Jammasta, I know you wrote this as a tribute and I like Fred A, too, like hundreds of thousands others, but to call him "terribly underated" makes you sound like you have some sort of unique taste plenty others aren't equipped with. • @carlmarks8170
      @carlmarks8170 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@nkmcfrln It's a composite of British punks, mostly Mick Jones... In the original SNL sketch , when they do a parody of the infamous Bill Grundy/Pistols interview, Armisen is clearly mimicking Johnny Rotten, right down to the seating position and his defiant naughty boy demeanour. In particular, the way he slowly drawls "be deeeeeecent". That's Lydon... Not Jones.. His name "Ian Rubbish" is a parody of Johnny Rotten, the first of many UK punks with that style of pseudonym.
      I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, rather than assume they are stupid. So when the other guy said his Johnny Rotten impersonation was "spot on", I'm assuming he formed his opinion from watching the SNL sketch 5 minutes before he clicked on this video.

      Always Mad point taken. I guess it was easier to generalise using the stereotype of todays "yoof"..but you're right..particularly in recent years there's a been groundswell of change and turbulence politically speaking..maybe Ian Rubbish is just the cultural icon we need now!

      Have a scene where he plays to an audience who are all tapping on their phones and not even looking at him.

      Jonny Deuteronomy Plot twist: ian goes off about how kids today are glued to their phones etc. And then when the following act comes on to play the kids put their phones away and start cheering because they really just didn't wanna listen to an old punk rocker in his 70s

      I remember going to the bizarros concerts late 70s. He was like 40 at the time and not easy to sing while smoking at the same time. Oh Ian Rubbish, such a legend punk rocker. Joe Strummer imitated him later on, in past tense.

    I'm about 83% sure there was nothing wrong with that guitar or the amp. It was either on standby or one the volume pots was zero'd.
