    Bro thank you for making this. I produced a really great Timelapse of Nashville tonight and YOU helped me fine tune it. Thank you!
    One thing I will mention is that adding 2 keyframes worked better for me over 6-7. My scene was not changing much with lighting and having multiple keyframes actually caused a horrendous flicker that I couldn't get removed. When I did 2 keyframes I found that it fixed the flicker and looked amazing.

    In itself a nice video only very unfortunate that you skip a very important part in lightroom and not even named. After editing the first keyframe the settings should be synchronized to the other keyframes and this you should do with 'sync keyframes' under 'scripts'. Then you edit the next keyframe and synchronize it with the remaining keyframes and so on. If you forget all that, it will never be beautiful and that is exactly what makes RLTimelapse so powerful. Too bad.

    Hi, I don't see the keyframes on lightroom it doesn't have the stars, any idea what could be wrong on my end ? after the deflicker you say to bring it back to lightroom, by clicking on the save or going back to drop in lightroom ? thanks

    My timelapses always have a lot of mechanical flicker from the shutter i presume. Everything shot on full manual. So bad that LRTimelapse can't completely get rid of it. How can I avoid this?

    How long does visual previews take to process for a ~600 frame sequence?

    Nice video. I agree that LRTimelapse is the way to go for editing. One thing you didn't mention as part of the process that I think is important is to sync the keyframes as you edit them. I believe the instructions from the developer say to edit the first shot then use the sync script after selecting all frames. Edit the 2nd, sync to the remaining frames, repeat until the last frame. Of course that only matters if you make additional adjustments in the subsequent frames. One other question, what do you use to add music to your output? After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or something else. Thanks again for a concise set of instuctions.

    Essential program and enjoyed your walk through! I'm curious about your archival/storage flow. Do you keep the RAWs and or the jpgs? Or do you only keep the outputted high quality file? Large files have pushed my storage out the window. I need to do more time lapses and I guess I'm a little uncertain if I would ever go back and re-edit so I've been keeping everything right now.

      I keep all the files. I back them up with external hard drives though

    Another informative tutorial. Your final TL had music wiht it. When/how do you add that? In PS?

      Hey Steve! I add that in Premiere Pro when I’m making the video but you can do it with free video editing software too

    Im going insane.... I have tried to import to lightroom 1000 times! it still doesnt do anything! I have followed every single step you and other people do but is doesnt load anything into lightroom.

    One thing i noticed David is when going to export your video you left everything in the “Previous Import” folder in LR. Mine won’t export from that, I must “Go To Folder in Library” for it to work. I’m using W10. Great video, not that many on LRTimelapse. I’ve been using it about 10 years and frequently communicate with Gunther!

      David Johnston that may have changed about switching from previous import folder, obviously you did it 😎

    Does LRTimelapse REQUIRE Lightroom? I use Capture One and Affinity Photo.

    • @DavidJohnstonPhoto
      @DavidJohnstonPhoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It does. It’s kind of like an elaborate plugin for Lightroom

      I use capture one too and basically what I do is edit my my Raw files in capture one, export the pictures as DNG, then import to Lightroom, run through the steps shown in the video in LRTimelapse but I essentially skip the whole first part with keyframes and editing the photos in Lightroom (I do this manually in my editing process in capture one) and then I run the auto transition, visual previews, and deflicker. This gives you the metadata to apply to your pictures in Lightroom . Apply the metadata, export the JPGs from Lightroom, and drag and drop the JPGs into DaVinci Resolve (which automatically creates a time-lapse for you at the frame rate you set the project settings too, much easier and quicker that premier pro in my opinion), and some extra color correction in DaVinci and you are good to go with a flicker free time lapse! If you make edits to the photos in capture one I make sure to just copy paste the same adjustments to every photo and this seems to work out.

    I use an A7R4, and typically 4,000-images to 16bit TIFF 8k. Beginning to end with a MacBook Pro M1, it takes 12-hours. My MacPro 2012 with 12-cores, 128gb & RAID0 drive took over 24-hours. In both cases, my Macs are at 99%system resources used.

    Hi David, with what interval did you shoot this storm?

  • @Fotogoscar

    Long process....I just set up either my a6000 or a7rii to timelapse with play memories app. I use the custom feature, save raws, import to Capture One. Once done with light edits, then export for Timelapse processing in PNG. I use Davinci Resolve. It auto recognizes all sequence photos as a timelapse.

    • @DavidJohnstonPhoto
      @DavidJohnstonPhoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s cool! I never really liked the play memories app. I feel LRTimelapse gives me the most control. But I know not everyone likes the same workflow so it’s great you found one that works for you!

    • @Fotogoscar

      @@DavidJohnstonPhoto btw, are you using an external intervalometer? If so, which one. The two that I had stopped working. Hence for using the app.
