    Mikey, I love this! You've given me a wonderful idea on how to use some of my mom's clothing to create a blanket which will help us to remember her beautifully! Love this skip cutter idea! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!

    Thank you for this video this gives me an idea on how to use my leftover ruffle yarn and give backing to my crocheted blankets (makes them warmer 😊)

    love this. I am taking used pieces of jeans (denim), cut in squares. Then crochet around and backing it with fleece. This tutorial really just showed me how to because i've been getting everything together but did not know how i was going to do it. thank you so much for sharing and it is a treat to listen to you. xoxo

    If you can, can you show a tutorial of one of the mini squares. I'm curious how you attach at the same time with this project. I love this blanket, but bummed the tutorial wasn't on this project. Thanks for sharing!

    Mikey . . . . Question . . . . I'm wanting to do a blanket for king size bed in the material squares crochet together! As we know getting a fleece backing large enough to kit king size is impossible, so here is the question . . . . What do you think of backing each individual square? Could you do a video of doing the base stitch putting the squares together? Thank you . . . . Love your videos, I learn so much! Love yuh!

      Karen Marketto I've done a blanket simular to what you're talking about. What I did was when I made tge squares I used two pieces with the "wrong" sides facing together. So there's two fabric layers crocheted together.

    • @angelafitzpatrick4632
      @angelafitzpatrick4632 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Karen Marketto I would do the same. Put the wrong sides of the square blocks together and do your edge, then attach your squares together. You could also do four blankets with this method, then crochet them together to make one big blanket.

    • @karenmarketto3357
      @karenmarketto3357 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand the wrong sides together. My wonder is . . . Would you fold the ends in, then run the holes a inch in?

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could try that... but I would try a test mini square first.

      I just chatted with a lady who makes baby blankets this way! She sees the squares together right sides together with 1/4" seam turns them right sides out, iron the the crochet edges on them!

      The mini squares are treated like granny squares being attached together once the borders of the fleece are done.

    Hi, is the front side in the demonstration at the beginning of the video, is it made up of fat quarters/charm packs? Please I need to know this in order to proceed. I understand the rest of the project, the crocheting, adding the fleece to the back etc. I just need to know what material the panels are in the beginning. Thank you for a reply.

    How do you attach the fleece? Can you so a tutorial on this blanket with the granny squares?

    How could you do this starting with a chain stitch on the fabric rather than a blanket stutter🤔???

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not really sure. I don't what was a blanket sutter is. So I don't really know the answer.

    Is there something you can use if you don't have a skip cutter thing? (Sorry if you answered this in the video, I may of missed it)

    My daughter is being ready to have identical twin boys in Dec, so this is a great project to make for her & the babies.... How much yarn do u need for the whole project?

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not much... Maybe 1 ball of 2 colours. It's more for trim than anything.

    Are the squares cotton fabric or fleece?

  • @RamonaPugliese
    @RamonaPugliese 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Mikey, it appears to me that "How to Add Fleece to Crochet Projects" and this one here "How to Crochet Quilt using Fabrics" are the same tutorial or maybe I need to call it a day. :) Tell me if I am wrong?

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My quilt is based on the same concept. I attached the Fleece Project as the cutting of the flannel and stuff is the same concept. As I mentioned in the tutorial beginning, the concepts of how to do it were added to this video from the original video. Some people find this video before the other video. I want to ensure they are covered in knowing how to prepare the fabric. Sorry for any confusion.

    Love this idea. Is there a tutorial on how to join those squares? I'm a bit of a newbie and have not seen that type of join before and it looks lovely.

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have several tutorials on joining granny squares. Once you do the border, doing the joins are the same as granny squares.

    What hook size are you using?

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      3 mm for the border round... 5 mm or 5.5 mm for the remaining.

  • @christinnascreations9072

      That's okay... creativity is subjective. Some people love it... other's don't. That's the great thing about creativity, there are options to find what makes you happy or not. :D
