**Please be aware, this video series is based on Alpha Canon, that is to say, all Star Trek TV Shows and Films. Books, games and comics will generally not be used, though some minor crossover will occur from time to time. Although Star Trek: The Animated Series, is technically not canon, more and more people are starting to accept it, and so this channel will consider it canon except where it contradicts the other shows or movies.

From what I've seen, the Four Quadrants can be broken down like this..the Alpha and Beta quadrants are made up of four main powers(3 after the Dominion war, 2 or 1 after the Romulan supernova), Gamma, which was dominated by the Dominion with some uncharted areas, and Delta, which though was mainly Borg territory, had a more free for all system with numerous local powers spread everywhere. Love how this site connects all the Lore(lol) together. And this is just the Milky Way galaxy...

I never enjoyed Star Trek until very recently... I wanted to read about Species 8472 after my boy Mike Stoklasa of RedLetterMedia mentioned them... think I’ve seen every Trek video you’ve made now. Fascinating stuff!

Watch the original series and all the movies from the 80s then the next generation and ds9 and voyager plus the next generation films and star trek enterprise. Then you will realise how bad the modern series and movies are. I'm glad your into trek it's educational aswell as entertainment.
The original series is hard to watch since it's so very 60's and campy but the 80's and 90's trek shows are great. I love DS9 and TNG and VOY, most like either DS9 ot TNG the most but i have a soft spot for VOY and DS9 is my favorite.
It's sad to see Discovery canceled, but it's thanks to folks like the reply under yours, that we can't have nice things. Not sure what people expect from TV shows on a shoestring budget, that they got so irate, till they attacked a black lead and diverse cast out of a job, because...."bad writing" allegedly, and not; racism or homophobia or misogyny.
Discovery was a great show.

Great outline! I think it would be a touch more track-able though, if events covered were presented chronologically. I know it's kind of a tall order since the series (ST, TNG, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise) didn't necessarily go in order though.
I'm really looking forward to the Picard series because it'll be very interesting to see how the destruction of Romulus affected the Star Trek universe as well as the Fallout from the Dominion War because the trailer seemed to hint that the Starfleet is heading down a dark path .

It'sGood not really picard did show us how the Fed had changed. Just more focus on social changes than political.
it's terribly slow and the only good epsiodes was the one with riker being captain and that's about it.
This is very nicely done. Is it possible (maybe in the future) to have a 3 dimensional map of the galaxy? That will give new insight into the vastness of some empires. :D
the milky way galaxy is more like a disc. the matter is mostly on the same plane. You don't really gain much insight into having this 3d mapped.
@@Spoutinwyze that disc is roughly 2000 lightyears thick. The distance between say Earth and Qonos is roughly 100 lightyears, so on a more relevant scale it should matter enough to make a 3d representation.

Very good list of the AQ/BQ powers, you even mentioned the Zalkonians (they controlled at least some territory). The only other one I would add would be the Pakleds (unless I missed them). Quark once mentioned that a system "belonged to the Pakleds", so they did extend some influence, at least.
When I see the whole pure energy thing. All I can think of is, that looks like fuel for the war machines of the Nine

The canonical sources of informations are: the two-parts prequel manga (yes the developers confirmed it's canon), "Metroid Zero Mission", "Metroid Prime", "Metroid Prime 2 Echoes", "Metroid Prime Hunters", "Metroid Prime 3 Corruption", "Metroid Prime Federation Force", "Metroid Samus Returns", "Super Metroid", "Metroid Other M" and "Metroid Fusion".
The original "Metroid" on the NES and "Metroid 2 the return of Samus" are not canon anymore since they were "replaced" by their remakes. "Metroid Prime Pinball" is just an unimportant spinoff, and other material such as the western comic books were never canon to begin with.

Not sure if canon but didnt the gnorn eventually join the klingons? Star trek online showed some species that served in klingon empire. Could you do a video talking about the alien species that were part of the klingon empire?
Star Trek Online is not canon. There were other species in the Empire but they were considered slaves/servants, and did not serve in the army/fleet. The few subject species we know about hated the Klingons and were trying to gain independence.

at 2:32 you mention the Tkor empire as being able to "move entire planetary and solar systems" yet their demise was a supernova? Did the writers miss this huge plot hole? Am I not understanding this correctly?
It is explained in TNG S1 Ep3 I believe but basically they used an entire star system as their mothership, adding planets to the system as a means of expansion. When it went supernova only one planet was far enough away to survive, but it only contain a scout in hibernation, only awakened when ships entered the planets orbit in the aforementioned episode. I’m no expert, I just so happened to have finished that episode a few hours ago

@@ungoyone I was thoughting about the original series episode "All Our Yesterdays", where the sarpeidonians avoid the destruction of their planet by jumping through a time portal in groups and settling in many different time periods of their history.
I feel like I just got a briefing from Tuvok. Bringing me up to speed on a galactic politics in a few moments. This guy has a great voice, but you can break down Trek lore into a lot longer chunks. A friend of mine loves Star Wars for it's Politics. When I suggested Star Trek, they watched a youtube primer and thier eyes glazed over.
Just. Uhm. Take things step by step. Star Wars Politics is simple. Star Trek is like real life. A convoluted mess.

I guess I understands now as to why writers for the new trilogies decided to ditch the whole canon completely. I'm a fan but even I was like confused by the names and the systems and the laws which made the Star Trek Universe. But having said that, those dumb idiots should've not create the abominations like the Abram's Star Trek, Discovery, Picard and even Strange New Worlds. It's disgusting.
