Since shooting this video, I’ve continued to smash fish on this setup (including a big surprise catfish)! I’m telling you, this is absolutely a setup every serious angler should consider. I love mine 🤠

@@ifishforfoodnottrophys7483 I am not a saltwater angler so I can't say for sure... But I don't think that would be an issue as long as you are still pairing it with ultralight line/gear and not targeting massive fish.
Hey mate just wondering what weight of lures you were able to get away with thinking about getting the Presso 662ULFS but wanna be sure ill be able to throw slightly heavier lures maybe 18grams or so with ease cheers love your work mate looking forward to hearing back
@JamesWilliams-ss3cp the rods rated for up to 1/4th of a ounce, which is around 7 grams so you could maybe get away with like 10 grams but i wouldnt fish anything heavier then that

I bought a ugly stick dock runner from Canadian Tire, I have a load of fun with it. The rod also doubles as an ice fishing rod 36 inches medium action.
I like my tiny fox rage *street fighter finesse* rod. The first fish i hooked on it was a meter long pike.
The rod is very light and tiny as well

The 7ft Dam shadow telescopic rod is outstanding ,strong light and tiny transport length,I only fish with telescopic rods which includes fly too,and the Dam is the best i could find anywhere and reasonably price.

I am using a 1m68 fishing rod, power Light. What size reel should I choose?

I love the setup but the 4 piece Daiwa Presso is definitely not an ultralight rod. It feels more like a medium-light or medium bass rod. It is super stiff compared to the 2 piece Presso which I also have and that one feels more like an ultralight. Nevertheless the 4 piece is pretty versatile. I paired it with a 2500 Daiwa Legalis and it will always sit in my trunk ready to go when I'm itchin for a bite weather it be from bass or bluegills.
What length do you have? Mine is the 5'6 and it definitely feels like an UL to me. I think the feel of this rod can vary by length a little. Just curious which one you have!
@@FishAnything 6'6" 4 piece is very stiff, the tip is good for bass jigging. The 2 piece 6'6 and 7' is quite the opposite, very whippy and more UL like. The 4 piece definitely has more backbone, I was able to horse a 3lb pike easily.
@@Kdash66 Is the 6'6'' travel rod able to cast 1/32 mini jig easily? Seems too stiff for casting mini jig?
@@xubin5690 The 2 piece can cast 1/32, the 4 piece travel rod like you said is too stiff.
I just came back from fishing my 5'6 4pc and agree its so stiff for an UL. Kinda disappointed its difficult to fling light lures out with any control. I'd still happily use it for tight quarters creel fishing tho.

If your pike are going to max out at 8 to12 pounds max it would work with 6 to 8 pounds test with a shock leader....grew up fishing for pike and walleye

Things seem to be getting better from a production standpoint so we are hoping for positive news about fulfillment in the near future. Wish we could provide you with better info but that is all we are working with too.
