The Touhou series are 16/32 bit computer games. The original music used FM synth, which was significantly less lo-fi than this PSG soundalike version.

@@onebottleofwater9487 i made an 8-bit cover in 2013 with java (wrote the notes in the sourcecode... because... because). You can find it... well, just look for "pi mix" and there it is. it was short, it was fun, it had a phantom-of-the-opera segment for some reason... it was weird.

I just got this song out of my head...... why does this always happen to me
The main riff isn't punching as hard as it could IMO, its highs could get a little more sharp in tone and the lows could have more bass, but the background track is great. Consider it for the future.
This is a common thing with 8.B.U.
i think maybe their monitors or headphones are a bit midtone/highs biased, so that's why there seems to be a lack of punch from other speakers.
I feel that the final note in each riff could be longer.

finally a proper 8 bit remix, instead of some random weeb tossing the sheet music into a daw and using a midi font
how about a complete 8-bit makeover of the song by someone who still doesn't know what Touhou is/was nearly 8 years later?
Technically they did toss some notes into a daw and used an 8 bit VST (Plogue chipsounds)
@@DupaChunner you could instead write java code that creates the beeps and programm the notes, rythm and meter directly in the source code with loops and conditions for lack of better reasoning. Not that had done that at some point...
@@DupaChunner that sounds like youre deliberately missing my point. to clarify, my point is that there are countless identical low-effort "remixes" by overly-enthusiastic fans who do the exact same process: download free sheet music transcribed by someone else, throw that into a daw, and use an "8-bit" soundfont to try and replicate their vision. THIS is not THAT.
