- What about the apple/sheep/stopmotion version?
I only chose covers that changed the audio, not just the video, so while there are several videos I wanted to use I unfortunately could not.
- What about the one that describes the video?
That was released ONE day before my video! It could not have been included.

Couldn't use because copyright.
- What about Nhato remix?
I did a dumb thing and forgot to put it in, despite writing it down. My bad.

Sorry, there was only a limited amount of space so I couldn't fit every cover in the world. Alas, I am restricted by reality.
This uses the five-minute version of Bad Apple by Alstroemeria Records, though some of the covers were the short version so there could be a little disconnect. It's kind of like the Bad Apple parade that I know exists somewhere but it's more switchy.
Brief history of Bad Apple for those who don't know (I've got to fill this description somehow): Bad Apple originates from the game Touhou by ZUN. The theme was remixed by Alstroemeria Records. Touhou fans, being the ridiculously overpowered people they are, creating a black-and-white shadow art PV for the song containing characters from Touhou. It became ridiculous popular and became the first video to hit 10 million (and then 20 million) views on Nico Nico (basically TH-cam but Japanese). It's still the most viewed video on Nico Nico today, I think. Alongside UN Owen Was Her and Night of Nights, it's one of the most well-known songs that originated from the Touhou project and has been hailed as the Megalovania of the 2000s (the Megalovania cover-switch version is, after all, what inspired this video).

@@DeltaPie I remember listening to Shibayan's Little Adiantum a while back before it became a meme, and when I first saw it I was like: Hey! It's that doujin circle, awesome they're getting recognized! But then I found out someone just put a drum beat or whatever on it and called it a "trap remix" and they got the millions of views. Welp. At least all the comments calling the guy out for never crediting them linked the original, and now it's gotten some fame too.

But I think part of the reason why Touhou is everywhere but still unknown is because the people who spread it likely don't know Touhou in the first place. To use Tiny Little Adiantum as an example - Deadman probably didn't even know what Touhou was when he made the remix (given that he found the song in a meme). And I suppose I can't really blame him - you don't expect your average song to secretly be a remix from a game. Popular Touhou songs are linked together because they're all Touhou, but this linking is unknown to most of the populace. What I'm trying to say is that the reason why things aren't linked to Touhou is because that's not a connection one would typically come up with.

what do you mean?, the full version is 5:24, but there is also a short version that is 3:39
As Nico said, I used the full five-minute version for this, mostly so that I could add even more covers. It contains four more verses and doubles the instrumental. The famous shadow art video uses the 3-minute version, which is why its more popular (although someone edited it later on to fit the five minute one).

I love how almost all rhythm games have a different version of the song as the most famous version - for example, Everything Will Freeze is likely the more well-known osu map than the actual Night of Nights. And in this case, the Camellia Remix for Robeats. I suppose the exceptions would be Taiko no Tatsujin and Beat Saber, but its still pretty interesting to see how this happens.
