Just bought the front bumper and will be getting the bucket holder next because of your videos. I wish my local john deer dealership was as informative as you guys.
Thank you and yes this is true. Not much snow in Oklahoma, but we are getting ready to order some snow implements to highlight them and hopefully show them in action this winter. Stay tuned and thanks for watching!
I am about to move into the Northern Ohio Snow Belt. I am buying a new S140 and am definitely wondering about the snow thrower attachment. Does it work with heavy snowfall?
I'd also like to see more videos on the S130. I think the canopy features are very important as well and we would appreciate hands on video demonstrations; thank you.
I just bought my first riding mower and would not have been able to start it without your videos. (Who can read a manual?) I definitely will be buying attachments. Can the Sun Canopy be used at the same time as the rear bagger? I bought an S160 for my 2.5 acres in central OK. Welcome to the Country. I'll be watching your maintenance video next.
I'm debating between a rear bag system and a mulch kit for my S130 to prevent having glass clumps. I tried using the mulch cover and it left clumps of grass all over my yard, will the mulch kit be any better or would I have to opt to a bagger once and for all?
This all depends on how often you mow and how much grass you are cutting off when you do mow. If you are going to be mowing often and are only cutting off minimal length then even the mulch plug should be fine. It sounds like the bagger may be the way to go if you are still having clumps left over when you are mowing.
Great video as always. Thank you. But I am disappointed that there were no presentation on the snow plow attachment for John Deere Tractors. I was interested in that item. May be its not out there yet. Correct?
No, they are available, I just missed them due to fact that we are in an area that rarely gets snow. I plan to do one this winter on all of the snow attachments. Thanks for watching!
I don't have much experience with these two attachments since we are based in Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico but from what I have heard the X300 series is the way to go with these attachments. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
No, unfortunately you can't. I would be careful in trying to pull anything that heavy. Most of these lawn tractors are limited in pulling capacity. Thanks for watching!
Most attachments will come with a hitch pin but on the mower side there are times where you may have to add on the actual hitch mount. I hope this answers your question and thanks for watching!
@@WesternEquipment Thank you! Your vids are really helpful. Just bought my first Deere. I love it thus far but have to say I am disappointed that the entire cowl is plastic. If it serves me well however, I'll be happy.
Unfortunately, when I bought my S240, the John Deere dealer didn't have any hoppers. Apparently, due to covid John Deere was not manufacturing or wasn't unable to manufacture any lawn hoppers. Which sucked because then and I had to buy a yard sweeper.

I would try Curtis Cabs. They will be a more high end option but are well worth the money if you need an enclosure a lot of the time. Thanks for watching!
There are several on youtube... I actually bought an S160 for my daughter and have the conversion kit to install. I am leaning towards leaving the quick change on it, because it adds extra oil capacity, and just adding the drain tube and doing a complete oil change every other change.

Yes you can pull attachments with the bagger on but depending on how long the tongue if the attachment is the bags may be in the way. But the hitch is not used with the bagger so it will still be free to attach pull type attachments when the bagger is installed.
Was looking for a rear carrier for tools etc. Also front bumper hitch receiver for moving a trailer into tight garage / shed space. I guess that's what wielders are for .😮

great video. I am looking to get a sleeve hitch for my JD X350 lawn tractor for attaching cultivator and plow. can you recommend me anything that fits that model. by the way i am from canada.
So there are quite a few differences including larger frame, electronic display, more options (ex. seat, deck, etc.), longer warranty, and various other things. The X300 series is a dealer exclusive model so it will not be found in your large box stores. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
@@WesternEquipment Ya the 350 is the model I went with, I was just wondering if I had spent extra money I didn’t need to, glad there’s a difference. How would you compare the 350s frame to a garden tractor?
One quick question after reviewing this video, thinking about spring coming soon. The mulch attachments. You showed 2, one that goes under the deck and the other a front plate. What's the difference between the two? I'm going to need a mulch attachment for my X304 but don't know which of the 2 you showed is what I need? Thanks for al you good information.
Good question! The one that mounts under the deck will reduce the space under the deck leaving less space for the grass to "hide" from the blades. With less area underneath, you will get a better cut and more blade processing from your blades. The outside cover is a good option if you are going to be switching back and forth between discharging and mulching. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
FYI based on your videos this year purchased a S120. Also, I got the rear bagger system and the pull behind cart. But, I was hoping to get a snow blade and can’t find an outlet anywhere. Any suggestions on where I can buy a snow blade attachment? Thanks!
I am glad I could help you with your decision. On the snow blade, last I checked with John Deere they are currently on a manufacturing hold but you may be able to find something aftermarket to get you by for this winter. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
@@WesternEquipment Thanks for the reply and you are correct. There’s a back log on the blade, but I just got lucky and was able to order one from Home Depot. And checking a day later Home Depot is out of stock again so I grabbed one just in time.
You make great informative videos. I have a question, concerning a 2023 x330. It's my first john deere. If I install the Shovel lp63737. Do I have to remove the quick release bracket that is attached to frame before I can install the snowblower.
I'm having trouble finding out the part number for the mulch plug or insert for the S220 with the 42" AccelDeep deck. Any chance you know what that part number is?
Depending on which deck you have, the Edge Cutting System or the Accel Deep, the cover will be fine for the edge but I would recommend putting the mulching blades on. If you have the Accel Deep deck then I would go with a full mulching kit. Good question and thanks for watching!
@@WesternEquipment It's the Accel Deep. I guess I'm just confused why they market it as 3 in 1 blades when you have to revamp them to even get to the mulching portion of it. NEvertheless, great video... thank you for the advice.
Well it is marketed correctly because the blades will mulch, discharge, and bag. I just always suggest if you are looking for the best mulching experience to go with the true mulching blade.
They do not make a mulch cover for that deck. You have to go with one of the two available mulch kits for the 48" accel deep deck. Good question and thanks for watching!
@@WesternEquipment yeah I just figured that out today. John deere responded to my customer service inquiry. Gave me a part number of BUC11053 but it comes up a 42". I gave them all my specs. 🤦♂️
Great video! Thank you! I'm actually in the process of quoting out a JD Zero Turn mower. In your opinion do you need both mulching and bagging capability? Or could I go with a mulching deck and lawn sweeper attachment?
Mulching doesn't work very well in hot arid climates like Utah, Nevada or anywhere you don't have the sweltering humidity found in many states. Grass needs constant humidity to break down. I live in Utah and I've tried mulching... haha, didn't work. The clippings just side there on my lawn until I finally blow them into a bag.
Great video Brent ! When I bought my rear bagger, model E130 it came with blades? Do you know if these blades are special in any ways? Or just an extra gift ...
Thank you and yes the blades are high lift blades. This means they create more suction and air flow to push the grass back into the hopper. Thanks for watching!
@@WesternEquipment Okay thanks. Do you know of any seat covers that would work with it that maybe aren't by John Deere, because I would like to keep the seat nice?
What factors should I consider when selecting the proper mower deck size for this mower? Also, have there been any problems with the bagging system for the JD 2021 S240 w/ 42” deck versus the 48” deck? Ive read a few unfavorable reviews of the JD site.
When trying to decide your mower deck you need to consider any gates or walkways you will need to drive through to get to all parts of your yard. Also, and obstacles that may be a certain distance apart that you will need to mow between, for example a tree that may be close to a flower bed. Which deck size will fit between that gap. And I haven’t heard of any issues yet since they have been unavailable from John Deere in our part of the country. Hopefully I will have a better answer on this soon. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
@@WesternEquipment Thanks Brent !! I appreciated your helpful comments. Your videos are outstanding and very informative. The JD 2021 S240 looks like a great tractor for my 18,000 sq.ft lawn, however I’m still undecided whether or not to purchase the tractor. Along with the uncertainty about the bagger system, reviews have indicated that the gas tank location under the seat has created accessibility issues with the gas intake and bagger. The JD dealer in my area doesn’t have any S240’s in stock nor can they get any delivered before late Fall. Take care and keep up the great work!!!
Hi BCorrect?, I won't bother you any more for a while after this. I haven't taken delivery of my s130 yet. I'm now wishing it had a rear PTO bush hog about a 1/2 acre of kudzu. Does John Deere make a bush hog for the 100 Series lawn tractors? Is it possible to order a rear PTO on the s130 from John Deere?
You are not a bother at all! I have not ever seen a pull behind brush cutter for these size of tractors but if they make one it will be an aftermarket brand. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
The bagging system looks nice but it is not available at this time. I ordered one from my John Deere in mid Feb and as of 3/26/21 it still was not available and John Deere could not tell me when it will be ready.
Looks like John Deere is still working on getting inventory available for this part. I'm sorry for the in convenience. Part number is BUC10286 if you want to check back at 247parts.com in a few days it could be available. I just haven't heard when the release date will be. Thanks for watching!
Love the videos, learning tons before buying. In your opinion which would you go with, the S220 or the S240? It appears that the the Kawasaki motor, and K46 trans axel are the main differences. Are they worth the extra cost?
We bought an S100 tractor for lawn cutting. I am short, husband adjusted seat for him, seems like adjusting seat height for when I use tractor, seat dos not move forward unless bolts are loosened. i would think pulling lever up on seat would allow to adjust; not so..
I want to get a S180 but I can't find it anywhere :-( Is there a way I could find where there are any available? I'm in Canada, in case it makes a difference.

I cant find a mulch cover for my s240 with the 48" deep deck. Am I a goof or do they not make them for that deck?
I personally would do the mulching and bagging.
Will the sun canopy lp 68122 work or fit a 2018 jd x360?
No, you would need part number BM23054. Good question and thanks for watching!
Great video Brent ! When I bought my rear bagger, model E130 it came with blades? Do you know if these blades are special in any ways? Or just an extra gift ...
I believe the blades are high lift blades that allow for more air flow under the mower deck for discharge.
Thank you and yes the blades are high lift blades. This means they create more suction and air flow to push the grass back into the hopper. Thanks for watching!
great help
Glad I could help and thanks for watching!
Looking for the BUC10286 bagger for the 48" deck's going to purchase an S170
Looks like John Deere is still working on getting inventory built up for these. Sorry for the inconvenience but thanks for watching!
Do you have a seat cover for a 2021 Z720E? Thanks.
Currently it looks like there are not any Z7 seat cover options but hopefully soon!
Take care and keep up the great work!!!
i've been wanting 2 get a john deere lawn sweeper for the last 4 years but been low on money..lol
They are really nice! Hopefully one day you can make it happen. Thanks for watching!
@@WesternEquipment ur welcome :) 1 day it will.. :)
Lowes has plenty of them. Got one last week.
Yes, we are seeing some issues getting the bagger systems right now, but we are hoping for quick resolution.
Looking for s160 bagger 48"
Looks like John Deere is still working on getting inventory available for this part. I'm sorry for the in convenience. Part number is BUC10286 if you want to check back at 247parts.com in a few days it could be available. I just haven't heard when the release date will be. Thanks for watching!
Great info! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Love the videos, learning tons before buying. In your opinion which would you go with, the S220 or the S240? It appears that the the Kawasaki motor, and K46 trans axel are the main differences. Are they worth the extra cost?
I would say for the difference in cost I would go with the S240. Just my opinion. Thanks for watching!
We bought an S100 tractor for lawn cutting. I am short, husband adjusted seat for him, seems like adjusting seat height for when I use tractor, seat dos not move forward unless bolts are loosened. i would think pulling lever up on seat would allow to adjust; not so..
Nice J. Deer commercial.
I want to get a S180 but I can't find it anywhere :-( Is there a way I could find where there are any available? I'm in Canada, in case it makes a difference.
I do not think there is a model finder tool. You may just have to call a local dealership and they should be able to track one down for you. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
Do you sell a front end loader for a Deere170
Are you meaning D170?
