    Nice vid guys!
    Did the same thing on my 660 last year.
    I found out the previous owner had never changed the stock chain/sprockets, or carrier bearings.
    For removing links from the chain, harbor freight has a nice chain tool. I think it set me back a whole $12. Great tool to have around.

      Deep Woods Sittin wow that’s crazy to never change that stuff!
      We’ll definitely have to look for that chain break always good to have a spare around!

      @@RaptorGang glad to see they simplified the design a bit as well.
      I'll add that to my long list of reasons to upgrade to a 700.

    Awesome video man you guys got some miles of riding what’s the tire set up and are those the stock wheels far as size? The look so much wider and taller

    • @RaptorGang
      @RaptorGang  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The tires we have on the raptors are ITP Holeshot HD’s tire sizes are 22x7x10 and 20x11x9. They are larger than the stock ones I believe.

    Would say never use your oven 🤔 but I say cat in the kitten so hey !!

    • @RaptorGang
      @RaptorGang  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The cat was very disappointed when he learned we weren’t cooking food for him 😂. As far as the oven we don’t have a press for bearings and it was the second best option to getting them to fit.

  • @barkus921
    @barkus921 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Was wondering how you destroy bearings that fast. But then you said ran it through a swamp so I understood lol.

    Hi I have a rear wheel with some play in it I’m guessing it’s just the wheel bearing or could it be more

    • @RaptorGang
      @RaptorGang  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it is the whole axle wobbling most likely it’s the bearings.
      If it’s just the wheel it’s most likely something with the wheel.

    Great vid guys! Interesting to see how it do it.👌👍How many hrs did you have on the bikes before needing to do this? I have a touch over 100 on my 2016 and it still seems ok. 👍

      Tassie Raptor Rider
      Thanks!
      As far as hours we aren’t sure how many hours we have put on our raptors, but, we are sure that the number is high. We do keep track of our riding trips and approximate miles so we can say that just this last summer we put on 2000 miles of trail riding and have easily put close to 5000 miles total on our Raptors.

    Great video. So i have both sprocket hub and brake disc hub loose on my yfz 450(from what i understand it's the same as on raptor), that means that i need to replace everything? Both hubs and axle?

    • @RaptorGang
      @RaptorGang  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Satanizr If your axle bearings have slop and you are replacing them then it would be up to you if you want to replace them. The splines can be quite worn, especially on the sprocket hub. I wouldn’t worry so much about the disc brake hub as that does not get as much abuse. We had enough wear that we decided to replace the sprocket hub. The old sprocket hub was a lose fit on the new axle and it had a lot of slop.
      However,
      If you are not taking it apart to replace the bearings I would tighten the large nut on the axle. Looking at your quad from behind you will see this large nut on the right side next to the disc brake hub. There are 2 small Allen set screws you must loosen. Turn the large nut clockwise to tighten it. This should tighten everything back up on your axel. We used an 18” adjustable wrench for this. Snug it up quit a bit. Tighten the set screws back up and you should be good. As things wear that will loosen back up. As long as your bearings are good I would just keep that large nut tight to keep everything tight on your axle. We now check ours periodically.

    I replaced everything to even the carrier didn't feel like fighting with the bearing it was cheap enough just to buy a new one

    How long have u had the trail tech setup and do u think it will last ? We have a lot of mud and wet riding here but I really want to get one of those.

    • @RaptorGang
      @RaptorGang  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jacob Henson We just put these on while we did the axel rebuilds. We will find out how long they last. A friend of ours that rides with us has had one on his KFX 700 for a few years now and he hasn’t had any problems with it. He is also not afraid of getting muddy or soaking himself through the water.
      Caden has already soaked his vapor several times without any issues. The mount it comes with is plastic and you have to move the handles bars some to be able to center it on the handle bars. It is a fairly strong plastic that would take quit a hit before it broke. The aluminum case they sell separately for it would mount on the handle bars much better and be more durable. We are looking into going to that type of holder as a possibility. The cable for the speed sensor could stand to be more durable down by the wheel. I feel that they put the connector for it in a bad location, but if you are careful with how you run the cable it should be fine.
      So far we do like them. Since we do all trail riding it will be nice to have a speedometer, odometer, and a temp sensor while riding. To mount it the way we did though you will have to move your key switch and remove that center plastic cover on the handle bars. We moved our key switch up and to the right. We have a video from last spring that shows where we put it.

    • @RaptorGang
      @RaptorGang  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jacob Henson The video for the key switch move is called Raptor 700 update. It’s right before our Luther ride video. Go in to the 2:30 mark and you will see what we did.
      Man. Seeing that Luther video makes me cold. Those were some terrible conditions that weekend. Lol

      RaptorGang thanks for the info. I just got a new Raptor 2 weeks ago and I think I really want to try the trail tech. I even been thinking about getting the one that has the gps built in. I think that would be handy for the trails that you don’t know so maybe u could track yourself and get back out of there.

    • @RaptorGang
      @RaptorGang  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jacob Henson No problem man. Congrats on the new Raptor! It’s an awesome trail machine!
      We were thinking of getting the Voyager Pro as well but the maps they had for Michigan were severely lacking.
      The buddy tracking is cool if you have more in your group with the same setup, and it would work fine for making your own maps as well.
      I can’t remember the website that trail tech had setup up for maps but you can go to it and look at their options. It’s been close to a couple years and they have done some updates since then so maybe it has gotten better. I think they will allow different maps but still no vvmapping, which is what we use and it can’t be put onto the voyager pro.
      A friend of ours in our group instead set all of the trails up in google maps for us to use with our phones.

      @jacobhenson3952 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      RaptorGang that’s cool man. I used Polaris ride command app on my phone the last time I went riding just to try it out. I thought u had to have a Polaris machine to use it but you don’t. It works pretty good and you can start a group and follow other people around in your ride it’s really cool what little I have used it on one ride. You can also play back your trip when you are done and it shows some cool info. You might want to check that app out if you have not already. You can save rides and stuff like that too. I think you can download certain areas too. I like it what little I have messed with it and it’s free.
