Full cost breakdown in description. Again apologies for the delay in videos. I’m feeling much better now and learning how to ski in France currently! Hope everyone is well! Yes Ted is getting actual tank work done as we speak back at home!
You can learn to ski in a day, you just need to learn how to stop. Then, the rest is just weight distribution, causing you to turn left or right, if you wanna go right, lift your weight off your your right foot, you wanna go left, lift your weight off your left foot. To stop, point your toes in, and sit back on your skis, to stop fast, turn fast and then slide sideways... I did all this in a day, and by the end of the day, I was bombing down the hill, and joining the end of the queue, ready to go on the lift, back to the top of the hill.
No, no - nothing will happen. Give plod a chance; say, a month? Or they will find them strangely uncontactable. Who knows where they went? A long holiday, perhaps.
thanks for your video. nice to see that you are back and out of your flu . Yes keep us updated on those little scums ! I hope you'll recover your tools .
They were just lightly sprinkling the bore through the exhaust valve on the far side so that it doesn't get as hot anymore due to being shit. Therefore, no more lifting the manifold due to the heat. 4D chess.
The old Navy had a cure for thieves. All sailors had a knife with a spike for spicing rope and steel wire. Using the thief's knife, the thief spread his hand and fingers over the mess table and the sailor he stole from pinned it there. Medival, you might say, but it did cure anyone with a theft inclination. It might work for shoplifters aswell (thieves).
I had a mate i served with in the Army that bought a Land Rover Wolf 110, that was decommissioned and fitted it with a TVR Cerbera V8. Agreed to sit in it with him, whilst he raced around Salisbury Plain, thing was ridiculous. Went like shit off a shovel.
Shit about to get real when you know the names and addresses of the thief👀 i guess they will learn their lesson about not stealing from a man who owns tanks 😂
What happened to the old series with the boat lift roof rack? How brazen and unafraid of the consequences do you need to be to walk around with a torch while thieving? Shows you how soft the "justice and police" system is unless you post hurty words against 2TK.
Can’t get enough of your videos and I’m becoming a big fan. It sucks when people steal your gear like that. I had my Ute broken into in broad daylight last month. Cheers from NZ
My boss has his tuned up so he can tow a full 2 deck sheep box and a quad at the same time! It goes like a bomb but he keeps blowing the gearbox...... Farmers allways know best 😁
the joys of working on defenders i stuck an m57 in mine couple of months ago so i remember all this fun lol best think you can do to your defender i must say,ref manifold staple emery paper to a flat bit of wood and run the manifold back and forwards till you get it flat
I drove one of these back to Wales from Copart in Brighton, it had been rolled over. Made it to the Severn bridge before the police stopped me. Never been so glad to have a car seized, my right arm was freezing 😅
Jack has won again with a another outstanding tee shirt. 😂 One of the best broken bolt exstractors I've used is called LLNDEI screw extractor. They work a 1000 times better then the typical extractors that most people use. These ones use a 13mm socket and have a way better grip then anything i ever used.
I love my 1991 Defender 90 200 Tdi which I have owned since new. Want to take the bonnet off? Lift it up and slide it sideways! Everything is fixable with a set of spanners, a few blocks of wood and a hammer. And no electronics.
First of all. Grats to your speedy recovery, all thanks to Overseer Ted's tender paws no less. Shame you got robbed.. wish you could catch 'em, tie them under the tanks while you go offroading.. Good work on the Land Rover. Keep the video's comming (when your health permits you to). Tc
It's good you're getting those wheels away. Any part of the wheel or tyre than projects further than the arch/bodywork is an immediate 3 penalty points on your license - that's potentially 12 points for the vehicle and an disqualification from driving anything. Sounds fantastic? Well, it happened to someone I know in N. Ireland, albeit the plods on the Antrim coast were later discovered to be running a cash pool at the time, with the monthly winner being whoever amassed the most penalty points dished out to Joe public.
My TD5 developed a whistle from the flexi-joint that connects the exhaust manifold to the down pipe. Some Land Rover 'specialist' wanted to charge me £800 for a new turbo. This was back in 2010!🙄
That must have been an interesting conversation with the police. "I have their addresses and I have tanks, please take care of this because I don't want to damage the nice paint jobs I did on them"
Turning into Chops Garage meets Salvage Rebuilds. Anyway they are just Meccano Kits full of components that bolt (mainly) together. Usable utilities for many years if you keep the rust away and triggers broom for the mechanicals
I would be interested in the bumper, winch light bar and tyres. I turned my defender over in the snow last week and while it stood waiting for recovery someone came and stole my bumper, winch, light bar and wheels. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks Dan
OMG , horrifed you had a theft !! hate those people , maybe some more securitys required as it does look like there able to just potter around as they fancy , set the dog on um !!
If someone offered to "do something" on your behalf technically you haven't "done" anything So the police can't grumble "Crime. Together We'll Crack It" as they were fond of saying 👍
I’m not sure of the laws in the UK, but it seems like you need some proper security dogs for that property. Here in the US you are allowed to have security dogs to protect your property, even if they hurt someone trespassing your property you will be protected legally.
I'd like to bid on the tyres, what's your eBay details? Well I look forward to your update on the scum bags, because I doubt the Police will do anything...
you should look into keenserts. they are stronger and they have these keys that get hammered in to lock them in place. they are like time serts but with keys.
Hardly started vid and well missed you guys it’s been far to long Q/ the Robbery any tanks missing ? Recommendations Ted might need a couple of friends couple of German sheps would do the trick Anyways carry on time fin video
Repair work looked good, well done Jack! Need something with bigger teeth to stop the muppets next time!. Good to see your getting better Joe, your getting to the age where you need to take care of yourself now. Keep Adam away from that landy! He will destroy it given half a chance - you know that !!!!! Like has been said elsewhere: don't see the point of skiing, other cheaper ways to break your leg. Called 16Lb Sledge! Take care - you have been warned.
I've never understood why people bother using helicoils. If it's possible weld a nut etc then if that fails I drill to a bigger size and rethread but instead of the insert I opt for drilling the exhaust it that case the next size up and put in a bigger bolt as that fix will not pull out or fail like a heliocoil. Helicoils in my opinion should only be used when the next size up bolt can't be used or a spark plug hole..
Ridiculous money in the UK. 10k for a 20yr old beat up 90 is mental when you could get a discovery 2 for a couple of grand. (and that would be a decent one)
nice to get a mr hewes to watch :) landies are always such fun , tho im from a different era ( thought you were going to say 4k ) lol just move it on before summat else goes wrong ,thats still relevent i suppose. Hope you nail those hoodies ,I used to live on a farm and i can sympathise with the whole thieving git/ police / frustration thing . also the only thing i know about beckam is something about nice chocolates dunno really . Also noticed jack is getting his married body together ( more is better ) lol
On my 1958 landrover the fan fatigued through and hit the nut that holds the diff in. How did we get to a point that the engine is soooo far forward that the front sticks out the wrong way? :D Also, that looks identical underneath to our old 1970 rangerover that we beat the crap out of doing winch challenge ^-^

Yes Ted is getting actual tank work done as we speak back at home!
Hands up all those who would like to see Jack on ski's! ☝
You'll have nothing left to fix if you let Ted do it, lets hope he filmed it
Enjoy vacation, dude. Can’t wait for more videos!
All hail Ted, for his work ethic..
You can learn to ski in a day, you just need to learn how to stop. Those thieves should get treated properly in a way that they will never ever steel again...
Yeah. Firing squad
Certain countries in the Middle East seem to have the right idea.
Kneecaps? Break all their fingers?
Pretty bold to rob a guy that restores tanks
Ask the postmasters how well our court system tells the difference between innocent and guilty.
Be a shame if something happened to those 3 muppets, wouldn't it?
No, no - nothing will happen. Give plod a chance; say, a month? Or they will find them strangely uncontactable. Who knows where they went? A long holiday, perhaps.
what like a tank appears outside their house , the barrel rotates to their front door , then someones head pop's out asking for their tools back ??
@@888johnmac I'm sure we could all watch a video of tanks crushing cars.....
@issachunt3159 The police are always too scared to go into travellers camps.
I remember hanging was big thing in the good old days
thanks for your video. nice to see that you are back and out of your flu . Yes keep us updated on those little scums ! I hope you'll recover your tools .
The metal shavings that dropped into the chamber is a nice touch.
No
its only the exhaust side

@@briocheman21 till it gets trapped between the valve and the valve seat and causes leaky valves haha
If police don't do anything, then name and shame the bastards...
agreed and if they are travelers tell the mum she will kick there asses.
Nice to watch. Just a reminder eyes dont grow back when they are filled with sparks.😢
Safety specs were being worn!
Engage your safety squints! 😂😂
Specs, plus safety squints, plus arm... I think he'll manage.
yeah , thats probably why Joe was wearing glasses
Are you speaking from experience of not being able to see? as he had his specs on🤣
It's a nice touch that the metal shavings fell into the chamber.
Sorry to hear about more of your tools stolen, thats a rotten thing to do to someone.
Time to step up security bro. Maybe get Ted a canine companion in the shape of a Doberman or Rottweiler .
I was thinking cameras that send notifications when detecting movement.

I always thought the spike on my pussers dirk was for getting stones out of horses hooves, that CPO at Ganges was lying then ?

Pleased to see Ted overseeing the works!! There has to be one boss. 🐕
So glad that you are fully recovered. Greetings from the Mosel Germany.
Good to see,a vlog in this new year. Good job on the land rover. And good luck, with the restoration 😊

Excellent video, thanks guys
Good to see you back. And what comes around goes around when it comes to those MUPPETS
glad to see you back
A common problem on the TD5 is the exhaust manifold settles down, warping like a banana. I skimmed the one on my Defender 90. 👍
I drove one of these back to Wales from Copart in Brighton, it had been rolled over. Made it to the Severn bridge before the police stopped me. Never been so glad to have a car seized, my right arm was freezing 😅

Good job.! Always worth a look at the oil cooler in the side of the engine when the turbos off. They are twats for failing. 👍

That sounds glorious! 🤩
KEEP IT. You'll get more content and views than the tanks. Love them.

The outside on a thread repair insert is fine pitch rather than standard coarse pitch. This makes the insert wall a bit thicker.

Love a td5…. I had anew 55 plate one which was chipped by original twisted, and my boy did it shift!!
I once drilled and tapped manifold studs, felt like Fred Dibnah
I would be interested in the bumper, winch light bar and tyres. I turned my defender over in the snow last week and while it stood waiting for recovery someone came and stole my bumper, winch, light bar and wheels. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks Dan
Ted, discipline is going out of the window, brocken bolts, cracked grill, sheared studs etc etc. put your toys down and get them into shape......

perhaps you need some motion activated lights inside the barns
The problem with td5 is you can tune it to more power than the axles and transmission can cope with
Don’t apologize for being ill
Use red lock tight you don't want them coming back out
MORE WHOLESOME CONTENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Landrovers are easy to fix, a gallon of petrol and a box of matches. Used to get about 5 to the gallon.

woulldnt mind buying it after you've tinkered please????? looking for something like that Mr Hewes. I dont like the big profit idea so much though 😁
