I think a lot of it depends on how much (or how little) he respects the person. You can tell here that he's got a lot of respect for Taker and Austin, not just as in-ring workers but as people as well.

I agree with u about Bret. I have seen four of six episode of documentary of Vince on Netflix. I really think that Vince, even without him we would not have WWE today, and people who worked behind scenes (poor ring boys) and some wrestler at that time was doing a lots bad stuff. Bret look like he was one of few there who is a good guy in real life. In documentary Vince lying about "I wanna push Owen Hart career" that is bullshit. Vince punish Owen and gave him a silly gimmick because he wanted to hurt Bret. I can see Vince lying a lots at that time.

Controversial opinion here but Undertaker doing the character is the only reason why I liked any of his matches with Bret. All respect to Bret, I was bored by wrestling unless Mark was doing his Deadman antics. Not sure why Bret speaks about it with a bit of disdain. Also, his match with Owen to open WM 10 will always be one of my favourite matches of his, and my favourite opening match to a WM. Maybe because of the story arc thoughout the PPV. Maybe because it was him and his brother, together.

I love one story Bret mentioned before, when they rehearsed that, he thought he wouldn't work because Owen was doing so many good looking moves, the crowd would love him. So Owen was adlibbing acting bratty during the match, otherwise Bret figured Owen was gonna turn face and he'd be a heel. He said he wishes that had happened at one point: Face Owen vs. A heel Bret.

Started watching wrestling since 1979. And it took a cage match with the 4 horse men in a steal cage match to find out that wrestlers called there moves. For me was flair asking if a wrestler was ok then the wrestler asked flair to put on the figure 4. I was like "but why"!. Have such a respect to wrestlers who put there bodies threw that to entertain us. Nothing but respect.

I know there's a question about his bitterness... and I do respect Bret Hart as a wrestler. But it's extremely hard for me not to believe he's bitter. There's an air of arrogance about him. No one can ever take away from his in-ring abilities, but regardless if they're true, it doesn't mean you have to mention how good you are when speaking about every match. This particular case is more tame than other's I've seen, but it's always there. He talks about the Austin fight all the time, and I don't think there was one time he didn't sound arrogant to me. I don't know. Most wrestlers have a high opinion of themselves, but I think Bret always felt like he never got the respect he deserved (which could certainly be true), so he almost feels obligated to remind everyone.

I never believed the Davy Boy match story. If i went out drinking, just drinking(beer and maybe a couple of shots) from 10pm to 3am. Then slept from 4am to 11am, i would STILL be shot the whole next day. My eyes, facial features would be distorted, my movements would be limited the whole day and night, its called a hangover. Davy Boy looked fine. Eyes, face and movements. He was supposedly on a three day crack binge with no sleep? Bret called the match yeah, but I'm convinced it wasn't under those circumstances.

When you watch the promo Davey did before the match....it was awkward you can tell he's "off". (Not that Davey was ever great on the mic) was it a 3 day binge? maybe not, But it is known Davey had his problems so it wouldn't surprise me if he was a little "fooked" as he would say.

If you pay close attention. His "praise" isn't.
"70/30, well Shawn maybe contributed 20 or 25... That isn't a jab at Shawn".
"80/20 for Austin" - After mentioning him bringing a "stump puller"
Then the "50/50" thing about Undertaker.
First off: he's talking about "contribution" to making the matches great.
Brett Hart and Shawn Michaels have a long history. And a bitter rivalry. The Montreal Screw job being top of the list.
Austin, not so much rivalry there.
But just on those two alone. He's speaking a "tongue in cheek" message of "I contributed way more to those matches then those guys".
Even with the "champ controls the matches" bit.
And with the "50/50" on Undertaker.
He's talking about one of the most fan loved wrestlers in the history of wrestling entertainment.
For him to even try to pose himself as greater than Taker.
First off: isn't likely to be believable.
Second: Undertaker would simply shred up everything Hart could say in a different interview.
One issue Hart has is that even as far back as during the old WWF days. Hart was a bit of a fan favorite wrestler, who had been a second stringer to more popular, and fan pulling wrestlers like Ultimate Warrior, Undertaker, etc.
He was retconned to wrestling other second stringers like Benoit, Jake the Snake, etc.
And I think it pissed him off to no end. Which lead up to him leaving for WCW.
But, his speech is underpinned with the subtle message of "I'm better than them"...
If you also pay attention to when he starts talking about Undertaker. He looks like he's pausing to be careful with his words. And doesn't loosen up until he talks about how great of friends they were.
Basically, Brett Hart is bitter. And he's trying to build his fan appreciation back up.
Pinky just needs to give it already.
